"This is a fav of my husband's and mine. The steaks are amazing. We never have even a mediocore dining experience. This time I took my mother for mother's day. She's 85 and still loves her lobster. It was a great evening!"

"We took our mothers here for Mother's Day and did not find it conducive to socializing over a nice dinner. The lighting is too dark, we had to use our phone flashlights to read the menus at 1:00 in the afternoon. The music was extremely loud and our mothers could not hear over the music. Although we were waited on in a timely manner initially, after we go our food , we never saw our waiter agian until we had finished. Our table was a wide booth and was too wide for our waiter to reach across. He had to ask us to push our plates and glasses towards him to clean up. The food was adequate but not worth the charge. I have had much better food in Greenville for less money."

"Two of us had the porterhouse for two, and two had the 8oz ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. Hat tip for offering 80z ribeye cut. Perfect size for moderate appetites. Prime porterhouse lived up to its price - filet was tender and tasty and strip side was well marbled. Asaparagus and green beans were good, not great. Suggest broiling the asparagus vs. steamed.

"Chophouse has always been an excellent Greenville restaurant. It has the best steaks in the city, hands down, and sides are very good. The menu could use a little more variety of main courses. The wine list is very good, but could use a high end expansion. Service has always been very good here, but this time there was not quite the attention and the restaurant was not that busy (Wednesday). When you are paying for this level, the service needs to come across "personal" and not "pushed".On ambience the restaurant has a good theme and layout, and lighting, though improved over the past, is still a little too dark. Still, Chophouse is in the top five in the area, and one of my favorites. I would recommend it to anyone."

"This was a first time visit and certainly will not be the last. I may have to start saving coins for a special occasion but I totally recommend giving Chophouse a try. The quality of food was exceptional and the quantity is more than enough. One item I will not forget, I ordered the cheesecake with berries and it was the best cheesecake I have EVER had. The whole experience was well worth the drive. Thank you"

We actually started the night on the other side of the restaurant but the cigar smell was too strong. (Smoking is allowed in the bar since it's outside Greenville city limits.)
So if you get the right table on the right night, this is a stellar experience!"

"I arranged my proposal here at Chophouse since my girlfriend (now fiancé) had never been there. They definitely have the best steaks in town, and all of their sides are amazing as well. I had some flowers delivered through OpenTable's partnership with flowerpetal, and informed the staff through the comments area of my reservation what was planned. They had us at the back table next to the windows, farthest from the bar as requested. I noticed the light level that everyone complains about was actually much higher than my last visits. It wasn't too dark at all, so maybe they're listening to the comments here. Anyway, the service was perfect as usual, and our waiter even brought over some champagne to congratulate us."

Please inform guests reserving tables that there will be a group of smokers and smoke will be present throughout the restaurant. If you do not like cigar smoke

"If you do not like cigar smoke than do not eat hear. The bar is open to the restaurant area and the smoke gets pretty bad as the evening goes on. This can ruin a good dinner for many but understandably some enjoy it. The steaks are cooked Pittsburgh style. I enjoyed the charred exterior, my wife did not. I am certain if you ask, they can cook it without the charring.
Service was excellent and overall the food was very good.
We will not return since there are many other outstanding restaurants without the smoke in the Greenville area."

"Food was great. Service was acceptable. I must be old fashioned because I still can't get used to the guys sitting at the next table in a nice steak house wearing a printed T-shirt. Please enforce the dress code."
