"Sunday lunch with wine pairings was a great experience and good value. A complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival and 3 generous measures with each course. The food was mostly good and very well presented, only complaint would be temperature of main courses which arrived at the table only tepid. Great service and knowledgeable sommelier. Despite the restaurant being very busy and a second sitting arriving we were not rushed at all."

"Took visiting family to dinner. Ambience is nice, the food is quite good but the service is VERY slow, Between some courses there was a 30+ lag. We do not expect (or want) fast food like service but waiting 30+ minutes between courses is ridiculous. Only 1/2 the party odered the tasting menu (5 courses). Again, the food was quite good (except for a very odd amuse bouche) but time between courses was extreme. Those who did *not* order from the tasting menu waited well over an 1.5 hours between appetizers and mains. Rests serving table de haute suggest the whole table orders it, they did NOT make this suggestion. Very confusing tasting menu - just he main is *supposed* to be shared and if not, they ding you for an additional $45!?"

"We had eaten two times at the Trius in the Fabulicious event and found we received excellent food and wine at very attractive prices.
This time, Easter Monday, we found that the quality / price was way out of line, For the price we paid food was nothing to write home about. Especially disappointing was the "sliders" main. A couple of small "hamburgers" served with some French Fries at the price of $25.95 was really totally exaggerated. The Lamb Shanks quantity wise were more than enough, but they lacked a decent gravy. Price too high for what we received.

"We took my elderly parents for Brunch on Easter Sunday. The staff we're great, a noisy table next to us, and the staff suggested we move without asking. The food was very expensive!! I don't mind paying top dollar if I feel I have had a great meal. We paid $250.00 that's with complimentary sparkling wine, for only mediocre food."

"We went to during Fabulicious. The room was busy but the chatter was unobtrusive, barring one nearby individual.
The menu was short but offered plenty of options. The starters were original and artfully presented (prosciutto wrapped romaine hearts with a crab pate, and icewine beets with feta). My maple brined pork chop with white bean cassoulet was perfect, while my partner's pan-seared salmon was also great. Her risotto might have been cooked for another 60 seconds. Both desserts were excellent, with special praise for the bitter chocolate dessert that married perfectly with the Cab Franc icewine. The Showcase series wine pairings worked brilliantly and represented excellent value."

"Our first dining experience at Trius was wonderful. We took advantage of the "Fabulicious" 3-course dinner menu and each course was terrific. With a fine selection of Trius, Hillebrand premium and other wines to chose from, pairing a wine to enjoy with your meal is easy.
Staff were attentive, but not obtrusive, allowing us to enjoy our dining experience without feeling rushed.
Perhaps our next visit will be during the summer, so we can enjoy the patio and the views of the vineyard."

"We went to Trius as part of the Fabulicious event. The meal was outstanding and the wines matched the meal perfectly. Since we are wine club members we were greeted with a glass of Trius Brut - this was a nice touch. All the dishes were well presented and all tasted delicious. I had the beef and vegetable pot pie. The meat was cooked exactly as I like it. Would not hesitate to dine at Trius at Hillebrand Restaurant again."

Wine glasses were wrong for 2 of the 5 pairings.
one of the wines was served out of order.
two of the courses were served out of order
all 5 dishes were overly rich
the main dish, the salmon, was over cooked and dry
went for a smoke break before dessert and we were handed our coats. Obviously the staff does not communicate as a team
will never go back"

"Trius (previously Hillebrand) never disappoints me.
The prix fixe lunch was well presented and prepared.
The scallop was great but the pork belly beneath stole the show. Beet sorbet was refreshing.Lobster quiche was short of lobster but the gravlax on top was excellent.
Wine pairing was great too. The 2010 showcase pinot noir was the best pinot from Ontario I ever had, and match the capon breast perfectly.
Service was attentive and courteous.
If not for the distance, I'll be a more regular client."

"Superb, Exquisite, Divine!! Whatever superlatives there are in the English language, these describe our repeated dining experiences at the Trius Winery Restaurant nearby Niagara-On-The-Lake. Comparable to the finest dining establishments in France, Italy, Switzerland .... you name it ....Trius has it all!! Fabulous staff who provide that added touch to a great dinner, unbelievable amazing food, creatively designed and prepared to impress even the most discriminating palate and an ambiance that works whatever season one comes here. The appetizers of parsnip soup and salad with chevre were a tasty start to the meal. My lamb dish was to die for! My wife's pickerel prepared to perfection and our only regret ..no room for dessert!"
