"I made a reservation for brunch online and even reviewed their brunch menu; however when I got there the waitress said "we don't do brunch" I explained to her that it was only 3 weeks prior I had a party there; a BRUNCH party. The food was mediocre at best. They messed up fries...WHO MESSES UP FRIES???? It's summer so they have every neighborhood high school student as staff so do not expect experienced service at all."

"My husband and I live fairly close by and we were excited to try the restaurant out. The best part of the meal was the bread and the cherry flavored cotton candy they give you at the end with the bill. My husband's filet was overcooked. The portions were small for the prices and there was so much garlic on my chicken breast that I had to stop and throw it out half way home as the smell was so pungent. All in all a bad experience. We won't be returning as its much too expensive for what they offer."

"We came back after a period of absence and food was worth the trip. Waiter on the other hand said he was there a while but offered little and didn't visit much Not back on our frequent visit list yet but we might try again with a different waiter"

"Food was good, but the music was too loud (although they did turn it down when asked). Overpriced, as hotel restaurants often can be. Wish the ambience matched the quality of the food."

"Had a waiter that did listen to our needs. Love the ambiance but had taken an important customer and unfortunately was disappointed with the service. Sent clients martini back 3 times before they got it correct. Overall love the location but not the service"

"The preparation and presentation of the food was outstanding! It almost didn't belong in the atmosphere of the room, it was sophisticated and it felt like it belonged in an upscale New York Restaurant. We do truly appreciate it being so close to home...The Chef Steve Coe is talented in a way that shocks and pleases every sense of the palate. Thank you for such an incredible food experience."

"Quality of the food far outstripped the setting or the service. The service was so slow that the manager gave us a free bottle of wine. Going to a restaurant in a hotel for a fine dining experience is always a risk. In this case, it didn't turn out as well as hoped"

"BoKX in Newton Mass. is a beautiful, stylish restaurant with great food & excellent service. Our steak was cooked perfectly and, the fresh vegetable sides were tasty, and high quality. The room has many options, depending upon what you are looking for. There is intimate seating as well as options for big groups. Highly recommended."

"Excellent meal and service. We were staying at the hotel and was surprised to find such a great restuarant with great live but not overpowering loud jazz music there. We were travelling up from the Philadelphia area to pick up our son from college in Boston and will come here again (and stay at the Indigo hotel too)."

"This was listed as one of Boston's best steak. So when I took someone there... I was expecting that. i was expecting a Capital Grille, a Del Friscos, a Ruth's Chris. No-- it's none of those. Our steak was just okay. It was nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the tab. I was disappointed. Super! Especially because this was my special date for someone. I would only go back if I was like sitting at a cabana at the Indigo pool and could order food there. Date night? Never again. The cotton candy was cute. But overall... the food was just not amazing. The service wasn't great either and it wasn't even really busy. I have very little compliments, I'm sorry. it just wasn't impressive as it should have been."

"We went during Restaurant Week. Overall, we had a nice experience. The tomato soup had way too much balsamic vinaigrette but otherwise would have been delicious. We ate in the restaurant, which was nice, but the bar seems to be the point of attraction."

"I was surprised at the the quality of atmosphere, food, and service. It all fit together brilliantly. We had a wonderful brunch and tasted some wonderfully unique things. Even the coffee was spectacular. The prices were very reasonable. A huge value for what we received."

"Bokx 109 has the best brunch in or around Boston. I had the Pulled Pork Benny, my wife had the Dougie, my sister had the Crab Louie, we got the Red Velvet and White Chocolate Pancakes and the Mac Cheese Stuffed Grilled Cheese to share, everything was incredible. The service was great, the General Manager Jay wheeled his Bloody Mary cart to our table and made our Bloody Marys which were garnished with celery, lemon, lime, a pickle, a slim jim, a mozzarella stick, an olive, and a blue cheese stuffed olive, delicious. I can't wait to go back."

"Great place for dinner! Food was amazing. I was a little concerned when I learned BOKX was in a hotel, I travel alot for work so I know how hotel food can be. This place will not disappoint you! Steaks were cooked perfectly, sides were hot and Delish! Wine menu was fantastic!"

"went on the restaurant week for dinner. The Cream of Hot House Tomato Soup is OK but the the Sacchetti is the best. The Petite Filet & Foie is excellent. Dessert is disappointing. They do not have the Marshmallow Creme Brulee as on the restaurant week menu instead a velvet cake which is toooooo sweet! The Molten Brownie Sundae is nothing special but sweet either. The presentation of the food is very nice. Service is fair."

"Appetizers/salads were great as were the side dishes. Porterhouse and Cowboy steaks were subpar for the steakhouse prices you pay. Servers were subpar as well. Good scene with live music in Newton, but if you're looking for a high-end steak place, then go to one of the spots in Boston. This place is good for a few appetizers/drinks and live music only."

"the service was very slow even though the resturant didn't seem that busy- there were only a few tables filled when we came in. after the hostess seated us, it was about 10 minutes before a server even came over to great us or talk about the menu. we started with cesar salad that tasted fishy- my husband hates fish! he enjoyed his main course (the steak tips), but mine (the tenderloin) was undercooked (I had asked for med well) and it was cold. I would have sent my steak back, but our server never came over to check on us. it was way overpriced for not so great service and less than apealing food. you'd be better off with just drinks at the bar."

"Overbooked, understaffed, extremely slow. Reservation for 8:30 and they didn't seat us until 9 with no apology. The bartender made decent drinks but the waiter took forever to come over, the food was pretty bad, and they got our desserts wrong. The coffee was the worst thing I've ever had, watery brown bitter water. They left my water glass empty until I could finally flag down someone to fill it back up. Overall just awful. Would not go back. And for a valentines dinner no less."
