A royal feast awaits you at Re Sette, transporting guests to another era with exquisite design and elegant Southern Mediterranean cuisine. Downstairs, the 1,800-square-foot restaurant offers seating in an intimate dining room, lounge and bar. Guests enjoy a grand entrance, with a vaulted ceiling and long mahogany bar that features an expansive menu of grappa, the favored drink of Italian kings. The designs regal influences are seen throughout and conjure an opulent time: jewel-toned tapestry-covered chairs dimly lit ornate candelabras and deep Naugahyde banquettes against brick red textured walls.
"ReSette is never disappointing. I've been there many times and it's consistently great food and service. I enjoy the little appetizer that is presented at the table. It's a very nice touch, especially when you get there very hungry! The food is extremely well prepared and tastey and one can easily make a show since the service is so good. The restaurant also has a very cozy felling to it and my friends from out-of-town praised me for suggesting it."

"Our second visit in a couple of months, just as good as last time. Delicious Italian food, some with unusual ingredients, superb service and atmosphere."

"Overall - we had a nice evening Food and service were excellent Wait staff was attentive Prices were reasonable The one thing that was odd was the music -- disco music in an Italian restaurant????awful. Mercifully, they did turn it down when I asked them to do so."

"Bar drinks were good (large) and expensive; not a lively seen at 5:30pm on a saturday but the bartender was friendly. Menu options were excellent with good specials. Actual food was good to very good. Only complaint was that I had mentioned in my reservation that were dining pre-theater; sat down at 6pm and had to rush the end to make an 8pm curtain 2 blocks away. very nice room, and I would recommend ReSette to anyone who likes Italilan."

"A little out of the theater district but good pre-theater service. Their pre-theater prix fixe is unusual in that the price includes wine AND coffee or tea."

"This visit to Resette we were met by the owner/manager and we were seated at a lovely, cozy table at the window. We had our predinner wine and we were immediately offered our appetizers. Special: Blue Point Oysters were very fresh. We asked for the calamari grilled. We were told they couldn't be grilled, but the alternative we were offered, grilled scallops were superb! Fish of the day, grilled black bass was excellently prepared and very fresh. Would highly recommend Resette...a bit away from the theater district, but a find in its neighborhood."

"Great location when attending theatre....never saw this restaurant before and would dine here again, but only with coupon. When they post their menu, notice there are no prices. Service was slow at first, and I could not understand why because it was 5:00 and no one else was here yet. Finally at 5:30, a waiter came over. It seemed like they were not even open at 5:15. The waiters were just standing around and did not even have a list of "specials" yet. Once we ordered, service improved. My veal dish was tasty and my friend's pasta dish was quite good. Portion sizes were nice, and the Re Sette salad was delicious. We did not stay for dessert. Gratuity was included, but they calculated it with taxes an that is not right!!"

"Food is always great. The Prix Fixe lunch is terrific and a great way for me to keep coming back for client entertainment. The service was a slow today. The waiter staff seemed to be stretched thin and was not attentive as they normally are."

"Restaurant services was outstanding, bar service was not.. On the few occasions she did try to talk to me, she walked away before I could talk. I also left her 20% tip and she did not thank me or say good bye. I thought the bar tender was rude, but the guy who served me in restaurant, was fantastic."

"Late reservation! Asked for a glass of amarone and was served something else instead, amarone has a very distinctive taste, when asked for dessert I was informed that the kitchen was closed. But requested to see the manager, the dessert was served, even that the manager never came to the table."

"While Re Sette is ideally located near the Theater District you should probably pass on this experience. In a city of 1,000 of Italian restaurants I would argue you could do better. The food was very poor. Overlooked Pasta, unripe tomatoes (capraci salad), average sauce, and a less than interesting wine list is what I found. One redeeming element was the service as it was attentive and well paced. Perhaps that is what keeps the crowd returning as it was busy...it's not the food.
I walked away feeling I just wasted an opportunity to have a good Italian meal in New York City. Lesson learned."
