"Wonderful Japanese dining experience. Menu selections of rolls and grill items as well as the wines both rice and grape was extensive. Everything we had from the rolls to the wine and sake was delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. They even had a roll menu with the cooked items highlighted in red! The only thing that I downgraded them overall on was that we were dining with another couple and they would not split our checks."

"We come here weekly, as it is our ONLY choice in town, as locals. Nikai is consistently great food, friendly and good service. We only eat out at Nikai, having given up on the overpriced, spotty food EVERYWHERE else in jackson. The eel is wonderful, seaweed salad crunchy, the special soups always an interesting mix of flavors. We eat off the sushi menu weekly, and as foodies, Nikai has never disapointed. Seriously, as someone who doesn't know the owner, or anyone else who works here, it is the only place, besides our home, where we feed our guests! Be aware, staffing is a huge problem in Jackson, yet Nikai seems to keep their's happy, because the stick around and treat the customers right. Make reservations! It's often full."

"But mostly our server, Brandon, was super-attentive and accommodating - even when we sent a glass of wine back, which is always a drag, whether you're a server or a guest. Thanks!"

"The food at Nikai was quite good — fresh sushi, creative rolls and good quality overall — however, there were a few things I found odd. For one, they did not include wasabi and ginger on our plates. We had to ask for more wasabi and they ended up bringing us a giant blob, but after we'd already finished all our sushi. Strange. Also, I don't get the television in the bar. No one seems to be watching and it just undermines the casual elegance the restaurant is trying to achieve. To me it seems tacky."

"Nikai's the BEST restaurant in all of Teton County. They're more than just sushi. An evening at Nikai isn't complete without ordering stuff from the grill as well. They have the best sliders I've ever had! We had mostly sushi, and ALL of it was way better than any sushi I've ever had anywhere. You'd swear the ocean was just outside the back door. I could go on and on about the many sushi options available there, but I've had all of them and not one of them is bad. The service is always great and the decor is amazing. I can't wait to go back!"

"I truly think NIkai is the best restaurant in Jackson. So many healthy food options at various price ranges. Beautiful artful presentation, friendly staff. I have always loved it but it is better than ever! Thank you. Lyn"

"This is a small but lively sushi restaurant in downtown Jackson. Traveling from northern California, I just had to try Wyoming's take on sushi. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the fish. Nikai tai sashimi, lightly seared red snapper, was very inviting. My table also ordered traditional, simple takes on sushi which satisifed our palates."

"I love Nikai, whenever I take a trip to Jackson I eat here. The other night the service was terrible though, the waiter had a typical Jackson attitude. He was rude and barely chatted with us. Never once asked us how our food was, I'm not sure if he just thought ' well these people are young and they probably won't tip well' .. Anyways despite the horrible service we still gave him a 20 percent tip. I love Nikai's sushi, it is some of the best in Wyoming, and I will definitely be going back. I just hope the wait staff is a bit more personable next time."

"Though the food here is good, the service is horrible. We waited over an hour to get our first roll. We also had to try and track the waiter down each time we needed something."

"Likely Jackson's best sushi restaurant. Very creative food and cocktail menus. Items from the grill come from a different kitchen than the sushi menu, so your food order does not come out at once. The appetizers and soup came out before the rest of the order so no big deal. Staff and waiter were very friendly. Would go there again."

"Nikai was excellent! It always is! Great food, service and ambiance. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I love how they continuously bring sushi to the table throughout the course of your meal. If you go to a sushi reastaurant that delivers all the sushi at once, you're at a poorly run restaurant. If you prefer all your food at the same time, I'm sure you'd be far more comfortable at an Olive Garden or a KFC. Nearly all sushi (sashimi, nigiri & maki rolls) should be delivered as soon as it's prepared because that's when it tastes the best. Nikai does it right! If you like gourmet Japanese food, you'll love Nikai. If not, Idaho Falls has many restaurant choices that are right up your alley."

"The food was excellent, it was fresh, tasty and creative. We ordered second round of yellowtail sashimi and the slides, both were incredible. The miso coated cod with coconut rice was beyond delicious. We. Had many pieces of sushi they were all delicious. The most amazing pieces were the fresh sweet shrimp sushi, they are large fresh sweet shrimps with the heads deep fried to perfection - just wonderful.
The wait staff worked hard, they were attentive and informative, good team work to cover the tables as they were busy that night. It is now a family tradition to have dinner at Nikai every time we visit Jackson. Highly recommended."

"Been coming here for over 4 years on our annual ski trip to Jackson. Had a party of 7. Ordered a variety of items including sushi. Seems that quality has gone down a bit. Yellowtail was okay. Not the best cuts or the freshest. Most items like the soup special, spring rolls and dinners were rather bland."
