"Visited Bin 38 last fall and loved it from start to finish. Was glad to see it offered again for an online deal. Truly disappointed this time around. There wasn't anything that knocked me over flavorwise. Even the portions seemed scaled back from the prior visit. And the waiter seemed entirely disinterested in dealing with us right up to coffee not even being offered at dessert time. A co-worker was there the same night and had a different opinion/experience. But my friend and I who had eaten here before were both not impressed compared to the last time."

"Bin 38 has a great wine list with some really nice deals such as 40% off bottles to take home. Food was good (carrot ginger soup, duck papardelle, blackberry cumble) and the chef was accommodating when I asked if I could make a substitution on the prix fixe menu. The only real issue was service. Incredibly slow. A 3 course menu took 2.5hrs. So it's a good place if you aren't planning on anything else for the night except dinner."

"I want to thanks the staff at Bin 38 for a great experience. I really enjoyed my pan roasted chicken and veggies. The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist on the inside with a slight crispiness on the skin. My boyfriend ordered the short rib which was cooked really well. It shredded as you ate, but I think I enjoyed the flavoring of the chicken more. The chilled asparagus salad and spring greens went perfectly before the entrees came out. I enjoyed the warm strawberry and blackberry crisp. I felt that the warm chocolate chip cookie was a little too hard to enjoy with the ice cream. I didn't taste as soft or chewy as I would've wanted it to be. But overall great experience. Wouldn't mind coming back here to try more entrees in the future."

"BIN 38 was very accommodating for our large group and when we were delay by traffic/parking they were nice enough to call me to check on us, and hold our table until we got there. They have an extensive wine list from all over the world, with some tempting flights of their popular choices. They also have a good selection of beers by the bottle. Try the truffled popcorn, it's dripping with butter and truffle flavor. Great place for meeting with friends for a casual drink and snack."

"The food was very good especially the Short Ribs. The corn chowder needed a little more salt. Service was fair. The music could of been lower in volume."

"Hostess tried to seat us in the bar ( "this is your table") with reservation and five minutes early. Once we were seated in the back, server had to be flagged down to order. Appetizer arrived before wine and then within 5 minutes, another app and an entree. Server fired everything at once, not good. Had to flag her down every time and were never checked in on. Food was good though. Just wish it didn't feel like we were at a Fridays."

"It is generally a bad omen whenever we go to a restaurant and the hostess doesn't look you in the eye, and then disappears for 5 minutes trying to find a table for you when the restaurant is empty. The appetizers were decent, although burrata was the size of a golfball. The main courses were pretty ordinary. The Alaskan cod was inedible, not very fresh and so over salted it should have been called baccala. It was served on nearly raw wax beans. My dining companion orderedl "short ribs" which should have been "short rib," as he was given a single puny one. The wine list was less extensive than we imagined. Dessert pretty good. They don't have espresso."

"The wine list though not lengthy had good variety and notable labels. I tasted an Oregon Pinot Noir and found it overly acidic. I chose instead a Petersen Zinfandel which was a well balanced wine. It was not jammy but had enough fruit to balance the tannins. I felt the price of glass of wine to be on the high side with the average being $12.00 The menu though not extensive had very enticing and interesting options. The soup which changes daily was a creamy ginger, carrot soup with a chicken stock base. It was very good though I'm not sure it was worth $9.00. The Flatbread of the day was carmelized onions, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian sausage and fresh Arugula. The baked Halibut was terrific, well seasoned!"

"One of our dishes was very good but the other was overpriced and just average. We were there as soon as the restaurant opened so perhaps things weren't up to speed."

"Major points for having an open table for weekend brunch (I know, what!?). Food is pretty good, but too expensive. The outdoor area is small but gets a lot of sun. Service was ok, though our waiter seemed annoyed when taking orders."

"Small and cozy, with a small but innovative menu. Great use of fresh and local ingredients. Our waiter was personable and attentive. Our group of four each had a different entree and each was fantastic. The flatbread appetizers were particularly delicious. We will definitely eat here again."

"This place was great! I found out about BIN 38 through a Bloomspot deal which was for a 3- course fixed menu, and every course was delicious. The wine list is very good and we even purchased some bottles to take home that we can't find in stores. I will definitely going back to this place again and bringing some new friends with me."

"We went last week for my birthday diner with 7 friends. We asked to be seated on the patio, which was honored. It is covered and has heated, so we were plenty warm. The wine was great, and the food was nice as well. Tuesdays are 30% off all wine bottles, so that was great! I would definitely go back for the patio. Additionally, there is couch seating inside and out which is great for a romantic evening, or a fun wine night with friends."

"Went here on a first date, great atmosphere to talk and amazing food. The waiter changed in the middle of our service and didn't mention anything to us which I thought was strange, but neither waiter was particularly bad. The first guy was much more helpful and explained everything while theist guy essentially just brought us a bill. Other than that everything was great!"

"Food was good, but the place was so loud I couldn't enjoy it. I tried 2 different tables and still had to eat with EARPLUGS in. Probably didn't make my server happy to serve me. And I was there early on a Saturday evening. If you want a place to have an energetic dinner with friends, fine. If you want a relaxing evening out, go elsewhere."

"We went to BIN38 for Easter Brunch. My husband and I split their egg polenta dish. It was an odd breakfast dish. My son, 26, had the french toast-average. The donut holes/churros with vanilla custard were delicious. The staff was very attentive except for the hostess who sat us in a strange area of the restaurant, maybe because we weren't quite "hip enough". They did offer to move us to the main restaurant, but in the end we declined. I have no idea if the restaurant is good for dinner, but we probably won't try it out given the brunch experience."

"The hostess was friendly and found us a seat even though we were early. The loco moco was delicious: sunny side eggs were perfect, short rib was tender & moist and mushroom ragout added a nice touch; downside: "fried rice" was made with arborio rice, so had the taste and texture of risotto. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich which he gobbled up promptly. The chicken breast was crisp & moist and the herb promme frites were a great accompaniment. The mimosas were truly bottomless as our server made sure we never saw the bottom of our glasses! There were a couple of times I wasn't able to get his attention, but the other servers stepped up. Acoustics aren't great, so noise level got worse as the afternoon went on."

"This is a great neighborhood wine bar (in a neighborhood filled with them!). They have a pretty extensive wine selection and the servers are knowledgeable and able to recommend great wines. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. I would recommend the cheese plate - you actually get large slices of cheese and a good assortment of "extras" to go with the cheese. The truffle popcorn is also a must."

"finally tried this place after hearing so many great things about it. wanted to try everything, but settled on the brussel sprouts, burrata, and beet salad. The beet salad is a bit small for the price, but overall everything was so good. we had a little mishap with our order though (the printer had run out of paper right when our order was put in), so 30 min later we still had no food. the restaurant was great about it and not only rushed our food out once they realized the mistake, but also gave us two free desserts at the end of our meal. really nice touch! i would def come back again, everything on the menu looks great."

"I have been to BIN 38 about 4 times now, and the food and wine are always amazing! I have normally order a few small plates to share with my group. However, during this experience, our service was poor. We had a reservation at 7:30pm for 10 people and were not seated until 8pm. We even offered to be split up into two smaller groups. That said, I will still return for the food and wine."

"I was excited to order from the main menu cause they had a lot of yummy stuff. The prix-fixe meal was only so-so. If only I paid attention to what the coupon said and looked up the menu, I wouldn't have bought it. First course only offered salads. Second course was mainly pasta. He ordered the pappardelle and I got the chicken. His was a small portion that even I wouldn't have gotten full. The brownie was the best part, the sorbet was odd......the mango was gooey and the strawberry was icy hard......although the place is pretty, I don't think I'll be back."

"The prix fixe menu was terrible. I had a decent salad, a dry and overcooked burger, and a hard and clearly microwaved cookie that was supposed to pass as my third course. The service was extremely slow and the waiter never checked on us during courses. He made one half hearted apology about the delay, saying the kitchen was "small"...just tonight? We had been there before and everything was excellent, really disappointed that we did not get a repeat performance."
