Parallel Seventeen is a neighborhood bistro and bar serving Pan-Asian cuisine with European influences. Since opening in 2005, P17 has been recognized as one of Denver's best restaurants. The handcrafted bar serves some of Denver's best original cocktails, in addition to an international wine list. Located in the heart of 17th Avenue's Restaurant Row, P17 offers one of Denver's most popular summer patios. Parallel Seventeen has all the elements of a fine-dining establishment, but still offers a friendly, intimate and casual atmosphere.
"Great food and generally good service. The only downside is that the waiter brought out a dessert for our group to share - which we thought was free because we didn't order it and were celebrating a birthday - and then charged us for the dessert. A big no-no. Left a bad feeling at the end of what was otherwise a nice evening."

"We had the lunch special which included a delectable crab cake sandwich, a dressed greens salad and tomato bisque. The taste of the tomato bisque was wonderful but, it should have been a little bit hotter. It wasn't cold - it just wasn't hot like soup needs to be on cooler day. Everything was fabulous with this one exception. The service was great. The environment was (as always) very cool. The dining space is very small but, we've always been very lucky to get a table - especially during the week - especially with the help of Open Table."

"This was the first restaurant I went to when I moved to Denver in 2008. It's where I take all out-of-town guests because they are always charmed. I know the menu like the back of my hand: my favorite dish to share is the calamari. Nothing like you've ever experienced. If you are looking for something light yet filling, get the pho. Start it out with a moscow mule (served in a copper cup of course) and end with a Vietnamese coffee."

"I have attended your parallel, multiple of times. It had been a while since I have been in the restaurant, but the last two times I have the waitresses have not been all that friendly and I state that by their body actions. One can very easy put on a fake smile to get through work and intereact with cutomers. I deal with customers first hand as well, but when you get customers that are friendly and enjoy your service it makes the person waiting on you just as happy. With such a beautiful restaurant it is dissapointing to see a person come across not as happy and putting an act on. When you have bottomless mimosas your waitresses should not assume they are dont just because a tap is paid. Why? because we were still enjoying our time."

"I had bee n here before for dinner and loved it. I was therefor disappointed to find only a few patrons there. When our food came I understood why. There was nothing special about it at all. I have had better noodle bowls at any number of Denver' s Asian restaurants. The service was less than excellent . All in all, I had to apologize to my guest who had not been there before."

"What an inventive menu. Lots of non-meat options that are amazing, like the white asparagus dumplings or the crispy spring rolls (not your run-of-the mill spring rolls). Beautiful presentation. Pho is authentic, as are all dishes I've had there. Great place."

"My wife and another couple dined here for the first time during 5280. The food was good; nothing spectacular. We all felt as though the portions were on the small side. I understand it is a special; however, we ate at several other places during 5280 and this was the only place we found the portion sizes to be too scaled back. The vibe was fine but the interior is very small; I think the restaurant would have a much better feel during the summer when the outside patio area is open. The drinks were typical for the area (small and expensive); but they were definitely original. Overall it was just an ok experience; nothing I ate nor the middle of the road service were enough to make me go back."

"As a Denver foodie I was expecting more. The 5280 menu drew in me in, however we were quickly disappointed to have a table on top of the host stand. The food was ok But nothing spectacular, and our server had No input on wine and/or food, he answered Every question with "its good". I won't be Returning to parallel 17."

"Only downside is small interior seating, not much room to move around and no where to wait for a table. Food is very eclectic and put together well, portions were pretty good."

"Everything we had here was good. Not great, but consistently good. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy authentic French food and Vietnamese food. This was really neither. The fusion was fine, but nothing to write home about. The prices were extremely high for Vietnamese ($10-$12 for pho), but more typical for French dishes. Overall, it was a fine experience, but we won't be back. There are better places in Denver."

"Overall, a good but inconsistent dining experience. We both enjoyed our first apps (both tuna dishes. My following tomato soup was not smoky and just not very good. My husbands main dish, the clay pot chicken, may have been the choice of the night. My lamb dish over pasta, while flavorful, sat far too long and the pasta was a gunky mess. Once I separated it and tossed it all together it was good (I did not send back as by this time I was quite hungry and did not want to wait for the fix). We ordered dessert and won't again; neither were inspired. Why a good night? Wait staff friendly, nice space, good wines, and nice non-alcoholic selections for my husband. I think we'll return but stick apps and the most adventurous of entree selections."

"Wasn't too impressed. Service was a little lack luster, food okay, and seemed like they just wanted us out of there at the end. Pretty sure I could find some place better to go."

"Tastiest food I've had in Denver. My only complaint is that my boyfriend and I would be back more often if it wasn't so expensive for the amount of food you get. He always leaves still feeling hungry after a $100 meal so he doesn't like it for that reason. I think the food is phenomenal though and worth it."

"For the 5280 special, I loved how the menu did NOT include dessert but rather an appetizer, soup or salad, and entree. So many places offer dessert as course 3 and it is wasted on me and my friends. Everything was wonderful including the special cocktails. Loved the crispy pork spring rolls! The experience was so worth leaving the suburbs for this downtownish treat."

"I gave the food a 4 star rating only because the desserts and the appetizers were FANTASTIC, the main entree, not so much. I wasn't all that thrilled with my entree and after reading the description of what I ordered, I'm pretty sure that a drizzle/sauce was left off my plate causing my dinner to be kind of bland. Thankfully the appetizers were so wonderful (Banana spring rolls with dulce creme and Beignets) and tasty, they melted in your mouth and were so delicious that I almost forgot about that missing drizzle."

"Really delicious food, very friendly & knowledgeable server. And even tho I commented on one our dishes as being overly salty, I only wanted them to know about it for future reference. But they gave us a free dessert anyway! nice touch. We will definitely return -- for more food adventures! We especially LOVED the curry cauliflower salad!"

"We went for 5280 (Denver Restaurant Week). We thought the portions were skimpy. We spent almost as much as we did when we came the first time, when no special event was occurring, so it was not really a "deal". We ordered desserts, which were not part of the 5280, because the amount of food was really not adequate."

"I think this is the best Denver Restaurant Week meal I've ever had! In no way did I feel it was pre-prepared or bulk recipes as most restaurants must(understandably)serve during this promotion. Flavors popped, textures were various and fresh, and dishes were indeed unique. Nothing boring here for 5280!"

"Excellent choices for special prix-fixe Valentine's Day menu, most offering unusual combinations of "Asian fusion" ingredients. Good medium-length (one page) wine list with variety of kinds and prices. Skae list disappinting, but (we were told) in transition."

"Ate there on V-day night. The servers were attentive fun, easy-going, and professional. It's location does not provide a good outdoor view but it is well appointed and I thought contemporary. Lastly, the special menu for the night provided great options."

"We chose Parallel 17 for a family dinner to celebrate my duaghter's 19th birthday - what a wonderful choice! We share quite a few of the small plates and my daughter also had the beef short rib entree. We loved all of the dishes, with the Saigon crepe and the entree being truly to die for. Our server really completed our great experience, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and very nice. We can't wait to retun and try the pho."

"Needs some tweaking -- no longer found the menu very interesting, and the two recommended apps, the tuna tacos, and spring rolls wrapped in lettuce etc., were not that flavorful....sorry to write this..."
