"The chop house seems to specialize in seafood but also offers meat dishes like lamb and the usual Fillet mignon. Their crab and artichoke fritters are to die for. Chop House is very pricey in relation to the food quality and portion size but the ambiance heightened by lake dining almost makes up for it. Definitely a special occasion destination."

"We do not have many fine dining restos here in Southern NJ, and for my wife and I, The ChopHouse is probably the finest and better than other local steakhouses (Flemings, Capital Grille, William Douglas). One of the reasons is The ChopHouse's BYO policy, another is their personal service. With many regular clients, it pleases us to be seated timely and recognized by not only the wait staff, but also the valet service. The food quality is consistently verg good to outstanding, and stemware is crystal. The ChopHouse has been our #1 go-to restaurant for quite sometime."

"Service by Lisa was HORRIBLE,She was absent from the beginning. waitedalmost 15 min 2 get drinks. bread was cold & hard. We spent most of our time asking other servers to find our server. TarTare was completely bland & unexciting. K City Sirloin was clearly overdone W/ blackonion mix. My guests were not happy with their food either. I would have traveled 2 the city 4 better food and service for the price. It's definitely not a Ruth's Chris. I also had made a request when I made my reservation & they somehow forgot about my cake request & the surprise was ruined. So we sat for another 20 minutes to wait for the Lava Cake that No 1 seemed to care & management was never sent over as I complained 2 the Hostess who seemed 2 not care either."

"My husband and I visited the ChopHouse for our anniversary. We requested a nice table, which they gave us facing the water. The service and food was very good, and so was the ambiance until they sat a large group next to us who had been at the bar for a while. There were numerous empty tables so its a shame they sat them next to us. They were so loud we couldn't even here each other talk, which was a annoying, but overall it was a nice dinner."

"This was a special occasion and we were VERY disappointed. We have been to the Chophouse many times before and it was lovely.
The food was fair: my husband's steak, after being ordered "pink and warm in the center" came out well done, and my dessert was ordered and came out 1/2 hour after everyone was finished their coffee.
Service was absolutely horrible! We waited quite a while before getting our food and then the dessert was almost too late! All in all, I wouldn't go back."

"Incredible. I am a fortunate enough to dine at some fine establishments on a regular basis. The Chophouse has always been a consistent favorite but on the latest visit they really outdid themselves. We were celebrating an anniversary and a birthday. The wait staff and management repeatedly noted the occasions and even treated us to desert. It was absolutely first class treatment all the way. The food and service already had us hooked but this night confirmed why this restaurant is our favorite. Great job!"

"The staff at the Chophouse are amazing. Everyone greets you with a smile and a comittment to please. We arrived early and wanted to have a drink by the fire pit that is in a room that is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings. They allowed us to taste different wines to find one my date would enjoy. I had the house martini that is so smooth as it is made with a potato vodka which I have fallen in love with.Our waiter Nicholas, was superb in his demeanor and skill. Every morsel of food was superior. The Lobster Bisque is a must have. We shared the Chopsalad, an Chilean Sea Bass, and Asparagus.There were at least 3 server caring for our needs. This is truly South Jersey's 5 star dining experience."

"Went for restaurant and ordered the NY Strip medium rare. The strip was thin so it must have been cut in half and it was cooked grey all the way through, which is well done, so the steak was dry. Everything else was excellent but I went for a steak."

"We chose the ChopHouse for our 9th anniversary dinner. We arrived right at our reservation time, and only waited a minute or two to be seated. Unfortunately, we were seated at a round table suited for a larger party, but we made the best of it by sliding in next to each other. When we did that, however, we were facing the bar with the NCAA tournament on the TVs, and a lot of foot traffic so it wasn't quite as romantic as we expected.
The food, however, was exceptional. The kona rub steak was very tasty, and the swordfish special was phenomal. The sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes and blood orange sauce were a perfect blend hinting at summer. The chocolate lava cake was worth the 20-minute wait! All in all we were very satisfied."

"It was our first visit and the last night of SJ Restaurant week. We were both pleased with our appetizers,the mini lamb chops especially were delicious,and the salads were good,but very skimpy. The entrees,however,were a different story. My husband had the NY Strip which was very small and a bit overcooked. I ordered the Chicken Marsala which was probably the worst chicken dish I have ever eaten in any restaurant! The chicken was tough,chewy,dry and tasteless. The little bit of Marsala sauce on top did nothing to make it more flavorful and there were about 4 mushrooms which were also bland. I couldn't eat more than a few bites of the meal.They did take it off the check, but if I go again I won't go during Restaurant Week."

"The food was simply ok and the place was extremely loud. We were celebrating a special occasion and I requested a private table. They sat us in the heart of the upstairs dining area- there were several other table that would have been better suited. I was not impressed with the food, service or ambiance. Perhaps, the quality is different during Resturant Week."

"We luckily were seated in the "porch" room, well heated and with a beautiful lake view. Our group was there for restaurant week and the menu was wonderful for the four courses at a most reasonable rate of $35. Appetizer we all enjoyed was calamari, followed by a wonderful green salad with lots of fruit and tomato and mozarella salad...both delicious. The steak was perfect as was the salmon entree. By the time dessert arrived, we could hardly summon up our appetites to eat even more. Service impeccable...not rushed...perfectly timed. Just a hint....the drinks add up quickly, as does coffee or tea...and the check increases very quickly."

"My husband and I enjoyed our dinner. Ordered from their $35 menu- calamari and pork chops were amazing for appetizers and NYstrip was cooked perfectly to our liking. Service was outstanding as well and really appreciate when a manager checks on guests as well, as he did."

"Steak is king here along with king's prices. Dessert was great, especially the Espresso Cake. I would skip the calamari appetizer, prosaic breading and weak aioli dressing. Lamb chops appetizer is first-class. Heirloom tomatoes in salad were the size of cherry tomatoes and without flavor.
Wine selections are unknown names with high markups. But, the beer is served in a large glass.

"The food is always delicious... I was a little dissapointed in the appetizer choices.. My friend & I both chose another appetizer rather than the one offered for Restaurant week..

"This was our first visit and it was a good experience. The staff and service was excellent; courteous and friendly. The decor is nice and it is probably a very nice location in Spring and Summer with the rooms overlooking the lake. The appetizers were very good; the salmon nachos were interesting but could have used a sauce or some other flavor enhancer. Salads were very good although a bit too heavy on the dressing making it a little soggy. The entire party had NY Strip Steak entrees; all very good but the seasoning was a little light. Desserts were very good; creme brulee was larger than expected, as was the cheesecake; key lime pie was excellent but the portion size was small especially when compared with the other desserts."

"The ChopHouse was a once in a life time treat for us. The prices are high. I am so glad we were able to dine there during restaurant week. We stayed with the special menu plus added Shrimp Cocktail and we had four drinks which came up to $112. before tip. The server was attentive and very nice. She checked on us many times through out our time there. The rest of the staff was also very attentive; taking away our plates, refilling our water. It was nice to be taken care of at a wonderful meal. Just what you expect but may not get at other restaurants.
