"I've been to Taverna Fiorentina many times and have always enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. Last Saturday I dined at Taverna with a friend from out of town and the experience was very different. Our waiter was friendly and informative, but the service was terribly slow...bread was slow to arrive....wine took too long...and the entree took forever. The food was very good as usual, but the wait was painful...even though I had good company. On a separate note, my friend ordered a screwdriver. Instead of vodka and real orange juice, it was served with a Tang-like orange drink....terrible....sent it back."

"We used to drive to Buckhead to get a "true" Italian meal. Now, with Taverna, we have even better "true" Italian food within walking distance. We eat here several times a month and we are never disappointed. Thank you for bringing a taste of Italy to Vinings!"

"The Taverna is close to the Cobb Energy Ctr., so we decided to try it for a pre-show dinner. The food was very good, and the restaurant is cute. We each had the veal Osso Buco. The risotto that came with the veal was divine, as was the sauce. The veal was mostly fall-off-the-bone tender, but there were a couple of tough bites. We still enjoyed it very much, and the servings were huge - plenty to take home. I had the grilled squid with dressed greens for an appetizer, and while it was very good, there wasn't much squid on the plate. Our server was new-ish and seemed a little out to lunch. She got our order wrong, but she fixed it quickly. All in all, a good meal."

"Nice small and rustic restaurant. Food was pleasant but not great. Both my husband and I had the special of the night linguini and clams (not very Italian - watery instead of wine/olive oil with the natural juices of the clams). Mixed green salad nice (very small) and my husband had the soup special bean soup, that was OK. We were referred to this restaurant by a person we met during dinner at SOHO restaurant up the street (really good food at SOHO). Probably will not be back at Taverna."

"Mama Mia, what a great restaurant! From the wide ranging menu (duck-filled pasta, anyone?)to the extremely generous pours of good wines, this place has it all. Ignore the fact that it's in a strip mall, come in and enjoy the food. PS - The rest of the wild boar seen all the wall is in one of the dishes."

"Taverna Fiorentina is a solid neighborhood Italian restaurant. While I wouldn't go far out of my way to eat there, I'm glad to have it down the road from my house. We started with a Caprese salad (I special), which was a disapointment-average mozzarella with sub-par tomatoes. I had the Duck Tortiloni, which was good but not exceptional-the tortiloni were nice, and the sauce was rich, but both could have used another pop of flavor. I also tried the gnocchi, which were about as light and "fluffy" as I've ever had. Very nicely made. I also have to say the bread they serve is notably poor. Our server (Drew, I think) was fantastic. Based just on service and entrees, I probably would go 4-stars, but the Caprese and bread bring it down."

"We decided to try Taverna Fiorentina since I had a free Restaurant.com coupon. Next time we are returning for the food. We had the lamb shank and the lasagna, and our friendly server was able to score us the duck ravioli as an appetizer. Everything we eat was outstanding, and the service could not be better. Now we are trying to decide which of our friends/family we will take there to show off the great place we "found.""

"My husband and I were in Atlanta for the opera. Googled "Where to eat near Atlanta Opera" and was blessed with this recommendation. I was doubly blessed finding the same restaurant on OpenTable. This was the very best Italian restaurant I've ever been too. The food was outstanding, the paste homemade, the service exceptional, the wine list went on forever. I asked for Spaghetti alla Carbonara, not on the menu that night..they made it for me! It was marvelous! Carbonara can be heavy: this was heavenly. Light cream and egg sauce with delicious bacon and prosciutto. A coddled egg sat atop the spaghetti in a half-shell. My husband had a meat/cheese antipasto and Lasagna Bolognese, both very good! You could walk to the Opera, so close!"

"The food was very good; I had the sausage rissoto and my wife had duck tottellini. The suggested Primativo was also very good. We were in a bit of a hurry to make a show at CObb Energy Centre and there was a mixup with the food delivery - ours was delivered to someone else (my wife could see it happening but was not 100% sure) but it was all good. The waiter comped glasses of wine and we skipped dessert and made it to the show. This was our second time here and the food has been great both times."

"The food was really good. The service was great and so was the ambience. We had the the special which was a 4 courses and it was delicious. It was really close to the Cobb Enerby Center so it was perfect before we went to the ballet. The next time we get back to Atlanta we are definately will return!"

"I brought my work group out for dinner and was hoping to impress and reward the team. Unfortunantly, the service was impatient/unfriendly and the food was mediocre. Even though we only had six people total in our group, there was an automatic 20% gratuity added which seemed odd for such a small group seating. I had added notes in our reservation about two of our diners being vegetarians, yet no one helped us or mentioned that. I will not come back to this restaurant."

"Excellent Italian restaurant. Felt like we were in Italy. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because waiter brought a more expensive bottle of wine to table which put me on the spot to buy. Said they were out of the cheaper wine that I ordered. Not sure if he was telling the truth. Regardless, he should have simply asked me to select another bottle vs bringing his expensive one. Other than that, food and atmosphere was great."

"All four of my party were very pleased with the whole evening. Our waiter, Joe, was very, very good and most personable. We each had a different dish and shared bites. All were pleased. You truly felt that you were in Tuscany enjoying your evening. On our way out the owner greeted us. I would certainly recommend Taverna Fiorentina and can't wait to dine there again."

"A bit pricey for everyday dining but great option when you crave really good Italian. Very fresh tasting tomato sauce and yummy pasta. The baked lobster tail was wonderful. Look forward to trying the outdoor patio in nicer weather, even tho' the view isn't much."

"My last review of Taverna was negative because of an incompetent server. Ownership has addressed this. Back on track now. Surf and turf was perfect, Caesar Salad wonderful if you enjoy anchovies. If you do not enjoy anchovies, do not order Caesar Salad. It cannot be made properly without them. Taverna continues to be a local gem. Joe was the consummate professional server that we expect at Taverna."
