Downstairs, The Grill at CUT features a fun and funky atmosphere, perfectly paired with a gourmet burger menu with your choice of sophisticated toppings and sides. Take a seat in the large, comfortable bar area overlooking the open kitchen or outside on our beautiful patio overlooking the Halifax waterfront.
"Great food and amazing service as always! We can't say enough about the table-side caesar - we have to order one of these for each of us now, as they're simply too good to share. We both tried out the Alberta ribeye (grass fed and organic) this time and weren't disappointed. They were done EXACTLY as we had asked, and were juicy and flavourful and really fantastic. Our first server even remembered our drinks from our last visit over a month ago - the personalized service is one of the many reasons we keep coming back!

"I found the Cut steakhouse via OpenTable. It was a good choice. The service was excellent but not obtrusive, the food especially my Alberta Black Angus Ribeye just excellent. I especially liked the idea that they show you the different meats on a little cart so you can make your choice by seeing the different type of meats. As well if you are looking for a more quite place without the music pumping this is it. But be aware, quality is not cheap, however it was worth every dollar spent. Well done!"

"The steak was perfectly prepared. The service was amazing. Very friendly, knowledgable, attentive and observant. Fast but it never felt rushed. We felt like the only customers in the restaurant. Would highly recommend dining here and will definitely be back!"

"Going to Cut is an experience. They give you a lot of information to help you make your choice. The food was fantastic- we had a striploin and a ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes, fries, mushrooms, onions and an appetizer. I had creme brulee for dessert. They also gave us banana bread for the next day. It was the second best meal I have ever had. Its not an affordable place for a regular outing but perfect for a special occasion."

"I have been going to the CUT since their opening several years ago.
We make attempts to visits once every 3-6 months
I wasn't impressed with some of the changes that I noticed on this visit.
The Caesar salad was made table side by a lovely young girl; the salad could have been a success if she had of mixed/measured the ingredients more diligently, I found it to be very over powering and oily, but I am sure that with the right mixture it would have made an amazing salad.
The steak tasted lovely but both my partner and I wanted a medium steak and we had medium RARE.
The mushrooms have changed from our previous visits and were not as enjoyable."

"Atmosphere was nice, we have looked forward to coming for dinner for quite sometime. The food was average, ceaser dressing I make the exact same at home and the striploin was bland. We felt the quality of the food was not reflected in the pricing."

"We had a great time! The food and atmosphere are fantastic at the Cut, and the super friendly and helpful staff bring it all together. Our server remembered us from our last visit around a month and a half ago, and made us feel right at home.
We started with the caesar salad made at the table - we had to have a whole one for each of us, as it's entirely too good to share. We each had a 16oz Oulton Farms ribeye, and both were cooked to perfection - each were exactly what we'd asked for, and they were amazing. When we had trouble deciding on a second side to share, our server suggested the onion rings - if you haven't given these a try, just do it - they've done AMAZING things with what is normally a plain dish!

"Clara was an awesome host for the evening. Educated, welcoming, & a great communicator about food. The steak was average for this level of steakhouse, but for the price it was reasonable. A few more bone-in options would have been nice. The side starches were not awesome but the appetizers were - especially the skillfully, table side made caesar salad. We had desserts somewhere else, but if we hadn't planned to leave beforehand, their dessert menu looked delicious. The banana loaf parting gift is a really nice touch."

"My all time favorite restaurant! Had our wedding reception downstairs at the grill. Been back for lunch at the grill and dinner at the steakhouse multiple times. Best service and best food ever! Worth every penny!"

"The steak was dry and tough not at all what you would expect at a steak house. The shrimp were overcooked. The sides were advertised as huge portions and the first time I was there they were and this time they were a fraction of what they used to be. The wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel so special. This was my second visit there and my first was good enough to make me want to go back and this visit told me it would probably be my last."

The staff were friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating, and made great suggestions. Fresh caesar salad made entirely before our eyes at the table was amazing. The steaks were a delight! Staff were fantastic in helping us choose a cut. They were done exactly as we had asked, and were seasoned perfectly - we both ordered 16oz free range rib eye, from local and environmentally conscious Oulton Farms - fantastic! While the great selection of sides made it difficult to choose, we loved the sliced yukons infused with truffle and the sweet carrots. Staff were again very helpful with dessert selection, and were right on the money with their recommendations.
