"It was our second visit after a great experience three years ago. Binkley's is one of the reasons we returned to the North Scottsdale area for a getaway vacation. Such pleasant service staff complements the "just right" size portions of excellent preparations from the great tasting menus. We enjoyed the wine pairing option as well. We left very satisfied while not feeling too full. Made for a pleasant night sleep as well."

"What a surprise this place was. It was kind of far from everything but worth the trip. I took my wife for her birthday and they hade her name printed on our own special menu. Plus they gave us numerous little small bites. Some were great, some just OK but all were fun. The food we actually did order was quite good. Go here. You won't be dissappointed."

"Binkley’s may well be the best restaurant in the country, not just in Arizona. This opinion is based on the quality and imaginative nature of the food, the service and the wine list. First the food: every dish was prepared from fresh ingredients paired in fanciful ways. How about hearts of palm flown in that day served with Moroccan couscous bathed in beet juice as just one example. Tasting menus are often ways in which restaurants dupe unsuspecting patrons. Not at Binkley’s. Here it is highly advisable to order a tasting menu and let the chef, Kevin Binkley’s talents fully flower. His kitchen is run smoothly and with panache. Culinary surprises abound. The salads were creative and light; a perfect start to any dining experience—at Binkley"

"We've travelled all around & dined at many fabulous restaurants, but this place hit a new HIGH! Wow! Knocked us off our feet! We checked in, but had dinner at the bar because we like to be in the mix & talk to new people. The place runs so smoothly - we watched all the servers flow in & out of the bar area - they have it down to a science! We each chose the 4-course & everything was superb! Each plate was delivered by a different server (nice touch). Starters, palate cleansers & final finishes all excellent. Husband had the wine pairings & I got to have a sip of each - of course, spectacular! I had the Crab appetizer, the Foie Gras was to DIE for ... Veal was my main entree - muah! 1st time there & definitely not the last!"

""WOW" is all I can say. Everytime I go there I am impressed all over again. The food is outstanding no matter what you order. The food is plated so beautifully you dont want to eat it. The entire staff is warm and friendly. All the Amuse Bouches are out of this world. I cant even begin to describe the experience, it is so unique. "Wow, definite gem, like madrona manor in Healdsburg but a bit better; Highs most things, lows, bread disappointing though obviously not there for bread, but would expect lighter warmer, and it is showcased in a few free interlude tiny bites. Dessert, I was nearly forced into a dessert by the waitress who said she would not overly suggest anything as to sway us until dessert got shoved at me. Blueberry tort with no blueberries and very strange OVERLY SALTY burn popcorn icecream which is one of my least fav. flavors in the world, does anybody like burnt popcorn, wifes dessert "chocol. soup" was hideously over salted. Def. teeny tiny taste menu portions, pork shoulder 94% fat. However, I have no space left but most things were exquisite."

"Binkley's is an oasis in the desert, where fine dining and a bold, diverse wine list are unexpected delights. In an area where cowboy steak houses are more the norm, Binkley's is a gem. Their approach to food and dining is more fun then--but of the same stellar quality as--The French Laundry in Napa. Chef Binkley worked at Laundry for a time, but he has surpassed them. Be sure to do the tasting menu, where you may want to simply leave the courses up to the chef. Surprise after surprise delights the palate, and as one friend said, "I feel like this chef knows me, like he knows what I need before I do." Wonderful experience. We will return again and again."

"I had heard only that it was a terrific restaurant from reviews not really paying attention to the whys. Our group of 6 had a very special night celebrating our 25th Valentines Day dinner together. Three special couples spending three special hours celebrating marriage and friendships of 25 years. Additionally it made me realize that smaller is better mostly because Binkleys attention to details made it so."

"We had heard great things about this restaurant and so wanted to try it as it is close to home. My first concern was that it was many minutes after we were seated that a waitress came to ask about drinks or describe the menu. And then, after the drink order was taken, it was at least ten minutes before anyone came back to take an order...I know that some restaurants like to give people time, but they usually check back...it wasn't our waitress that came back but another person, so obviously there was a problem with too many tables or something. The second concern I had was that there were so many amuse-bouche courses (we counted ten) in between our chosen ones, that everything ran together and it was difficult to enjoy what we had."

"Our experience at Binkley's was absolutely wonderful in every sense. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the food was incredible. We enjoyed the 6-course tasting menu and it was some of the best food I have ever eaten, especially the black cod entree. "Wonderful 4 course dinner on a Thursday night in the outside patio next to a gas fire, very cosy.
Service was very attentive and they have an excellent wine selection of less well known wines.
Amuse-bouche was served throughout the meal and there must have been at least 10 of these exotic bite size hors d'oeuvres. The 4 main courses were also oustanding with sizing to match the whole meal i.e. not huge portions but certainly felt well fed afterwards.
Really fine dining does not get much better than this and to find it the little out of your way Cave Creek adds to the allure, the town itself is quite funky with lots of interesting bars and shops."

"This was one the top 10 meals I have had, the attention to details both for the food and service felt like a Michelin 3 stars without the arrogance and the ridiculous pricing. The food struck a perfect balance between innovation, molecular and 'traditional' cuisine and was perfectly paired with solid but affordable wines. I would recommend without hesitation to any party looking for a very special evening."

"Since we have been to this restaurant several times before and have loved everything about it in the past, I want to focus on what we didn't like this time. We still think it's a great restaurant but several things just weren't up to par. Starting with the food: the cold appetizers were just ok; Hot appetizer, only the foie Gras was a wow; Fish, Alfonsino was delicious; Meat, filet and veal were very good. Non of the deserts were all that terrific. Service, unless we asked no one explained the items that were compliments of the chef and food just left with us wondering how to eat it. Gal that took our order was excellent, servers fair. Bread was served once. That's unusual. The room was very warm, particularly for the men in suits."

"Absolutely incredible! One of the best restaurants in the country. We were on vacation in the area and had heard that this was the best. It is! We were with a goup of nine people and had the best, smoothest service. It was not just dinner. It was an evening dining experience not to be missed. We'll be talking about this evening for a long time and if we ever get bak to the area, we'll be back at Binkley's!"

"We celebrated a wedding anniversary at Binkley's and were treated to a culinary adventure unlike any other we've had. From the special service touches like a printed anniversary greeting on our menus to out-of-the-way intimate seating to a warm and attentive staff, Binkley's offered an experience we will not soon forget, and hope to repeat many more times. Oh yeah, and the food....exquisite! As first-timers we tried the 6-course tasting menu. I could fill this space with description, but suffice it to say, this wasn't just food, it was art; not only to behold, but to taste.....and yes, we were incredibly satisfied by the end of the evening."

"It was over the top exciting for us. The food was unbelievable - the best we've ever had and so exciting for our palates. We had a hard time making our selections because everything sounded perfect and then we received 13 extra small-plates beyond what we had ordered. We honestly wanted for nothing at the end of the evening. Wine pairings were a good choice because everything matched perfectly. I so want to live closer so that we can go more often."

"This restaurant is about a half hour drive north of Phoenix and worth it. This is a diamond in the rough and a destination meal for foodies! The restaurant is named after the chef and he is world-class. Perhaps no surprise, as his mentor was Thomas Keller of the French Laundry and Per Se. We had a five course tasting menu paired with wines that was very reasonably priced for top level cuisine. No less, the chef will accommodate any dietary concerns. We received not one, but several amuse bouches as well as miniardes at the end of the meal. Each course is beautifully presented and almost all were excellent to outstanding to ground-breaking. Superbly professional yet warm and friendly staff. Do not miss this!"

"This is one of those uber foodie places. It is waaay out there unless you reside in North Scottsdale. It is in a strip mall and easily missed unless you know it is there. Decor is quite simple. Service is a bit stiff. We were celebrating a special birthday but that really did not phase them one way or another. Food was excellent. Beautiful presentation. Loved the many surprise amuse-bouches. Wine list was acceptable but should be better for a place of this ilk. It is all about the food here."

"This was our 2nd time to Binkley's and we loved it. It was just as good as we had remembered. We had been to other Michelin-rated 1, 2 or 3 stars restaurants in Europe, NY, LA, Las Vegas and San Francisco, and we think if Michelin Guide is to rate Binkley's, it will at least be 2 stars. Service was great. The price was very reasonable for the quality of food one gets. We are from out of town and will definitely come back every time we are in the area."

"The food is creative without being contrived - this chef thinks outside the box.
After ordering two glasses of prosecco, we saw that it was being poured as an amuse for the table next to us. Didn't seem fair - we should have been told that we'd have received a gratis glass (albeit a smaller pour).
There is a lot of interaction with the servers as they are constantly delivering small bites between courses. We found this entertaining but I can see why someone said it interrupts conversation. Overall we left with a very positive feeling and look forward to returning."

"Binkley's exceeded all of my expectations, in every respect. The casual elegant ambiance does not force fanciness simply for show, so it is comfortable for almost any occasion and patron. The food is incredibly creative, delicious, and aesthetically pleasing; it is beyond description, and Chef clearly has both passion and exceptional talent. In addition to the gustatory delights, the service is absolutely impeccable. The dishes are perfectly paced and balanced for optimum dining pleasure. The staff are knowledgeable about every aspect of the the menu, and seem to truly enjoy their craft; they are delighted to discuss the details with interested gastronomes, but are not intrusive. "This was one of the top ten meals I and my party of 4 have ever had. We are all foodies and Binkley's exceeded our expectations. We all ordered the tasting menu with paired wines. Every dish was superb. The sommelier was smitten with his wines and his enthusiasm was contagious. His descriptions were colorful, spot on, and witty.The little treats in between the dishes (which we counted to be 10!) were equally if not more creative and exquisite. My husband and I went to French Laundry last year. This meal was comparable at 1/3 the price. I will return to Binkeley's next time we are in Phoenix."

"Superb food, great wine list. In addition to the 3 courses we ordered (appetizer, entree, dessert), we were entertained with no less than 8 amuses bouche, making for an almost constant flow of delightful little surprises.

The restaurant understands high-level service: in addition to being highly polished/professional, the staff was willing to wait until all 4 of us had finished our course before clearing plates (unfortunately an almost extinct approach these days - if one person eats more slowly than others, they feel singled out - how rude!)

Very high marks overall."

The head waiter made it especially memorable explaining the various courses and the subleties of each dish and it's preparation. The White Truffle Risotto was truly exquisite! Do not go here if you want just a quick meal. This is a truly special occasion type of place and be prepared to allocate several hours for dinner (like a nice European or Parisian restaurant), so you can enjoy the MANY, MANY courses."
