"This was our second time here and after the first trip we were totally impressed, but this time was not at the same level. We had reservations and were seated approximately 15 minutes past that time, service was fairly slow and they charged $6.00 to split an entree. We ordered several drinks multiple apps and split the entree not to save money, but because we had so much food and when we were there the first time and split an entree they did not charge. We are not sure if we will return or not, there are too many great restaurants in Greenville that are extremely consistent."

"Our three meals were all excellent. This is my favoriate place for Veal Picatta (and the risotto is to die for!). Always a treat to come to Greenville and enjoy this great restaurant. For us, it is a 50 mile drive one-way, but well worth it."

"The owner keeps watch over every aspect of this gem. He talks with the clientele to make sure they are loving their meal. What's not to love? Every dish is cooked to perfection. This is by far the best upscale Italian restaurant in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. This is not your spaghetti and meatball Italian, this is fine dining. The Osso Bucco is awesome!"

"We headed to Davanis after reading rave reviews and wanting to take my parents out for a fancy meal in Greenville. While the food was delicious, we will not be back. Our service was SLOW. It took over 5 minutes for someone to take a drink order. It was a good 20 minutes between our second course and entrees. While we were patient, and our server did apologize, my expectations were high for a fine dining restaurant charging what they charge. To be clear, our bill was over $250 for a table of 4--the money was not the issue. The final straw was being charged a fee for splitting our salads. Seriously? If you want to be a high end, fine dining restaurant with prices that reflect that, don't nickle and dime your customers."

"This restaurant is truly a gem. Although our dining experience lasted 2 hours due to a little slow transition between courses...it provided for a romantic night out. Our waitress was thoughtful and attentive to our needs. She even brought a complimentary glass of wine to accompany my husband's entrée and packaged a signature dessert for us to take home to enjoy later on the house. The food was OUTSTANDING...the salmon and osso bucco were scrumptious."

"AWESOME service! Our waiter was top-notch. I'm a picky eater and he didn't even bat an eye when I asked for special instructions for my meal. Hostess even called me after we had left asking if one of our guests had lost a bracelet - which she had. Was so nice of her to be proactive and get a hold of us.

"It is always impressive to fine such a gem in a small community shopping center anchored by a Panera Bread!. We were warmly welcomed and the service was excellent. Nice wine selections and an well rounded Italian menu. The calamari was tender and lightly breaded with two sauces - both excellent. The fettuccine with salmon was excellent and far too much to eat!!! We finished with a delightful dish of pistachio gelato!

"This was our second trip to Davani's and just as the first, we were not disappointed in the food. Best marinara we've ever tasted. They have a lively bar clientele that gets noisier as the night goes on, making a quiet, romantic evening challenging. Our waiter was in need of additional training and frequently had to be sought out. The good news is that the food is so good, these minor faults are easily overlooked. Looking forward to our next visit."

"Probably will give this restaurant at least one more try. Rarely should one visit be the basis for one's overall opinion. Although quality ingredients were used in the preparation, food lacked appropriate flavor and seasoning (ie. the sauce on my Seafood Fra Diavalo was probably the mildest and least seasoned as any I have ever eaten). Canneloni ordered by 2 in our party was tasty but,unfortunately, was served with charred edges."

"Although the establishment was very inviting and the food was excellent, the noise at the bar ruined the evening for our group.
We had wonderful service and our waiter did everything he could to help, what could have been a great evening turned into a disappointment.
I recommend the food, I recommend the wait staff, I do not recommend staying if there is a boisterous group at the bar."
