"I was very disappointed with 10 Arts this Mother's Day weekend. First, the menu was very limited, which was unexpected based on past visits to the restaurant. Second, the service was slow and not professional enough for a nice, fancy restaurant, which is what this used to be. Third, the food was basic and not very good, the portions were too small and the price was too high for what was provided. This used to be a top restaurant visit for me and my wife on special occasions. It's best days seem past and it is not any longer.
Very disappointed and we will not go back."

"This was a most enjoyable business lunch! I have special dietary needs and the staff was most accommodating. Food was tasty and portions were just right. Staff was friendly and very responsive. I asked for whole grain bread and they had it in no time. I needed to make adjustments to the menu and the staff was very accommodating again. This was a delight and I will return often!"

"Well, the space is gorgeous, the bar pleasant, the drinks good, the wine list adequate though the prices are too inflated. Food? Well, I wasn't too impressed. Each time I've eaten at 10 Arts, it goes down a notch in my estimation. The homemade mozzarella was grainy, the steak tasteless. Another guest liked the trout. Plates are too dished and my silverware kept sliding into the food or falling off the plate and into my lap. Grrr."

"The food and service measure up to Ritz Carlton standards. The food and the motif do not match. This is an upscale lounge but the food is not neither upscale lounge food nor is it casual dinner food."

"Well, the food was tasty, but the portions were much smaller than we expected considering the price we paid. A nice menu but we were all still hungry after the three of us plunked down $150 for want would have amounted to appetizers in any other establishment. Not likely that we will return, but it was fun once."

"Since the departure of Eric Ripert from 10 Arts, it's game over. The restaurant failed at all of it's dishes for everyone in the group. We dined at 10 Arts a few times recently and with each visit the quality of the staff and food dimishes. I am happily waiting to see a big change here. In the mean time, you can simply avoid 10 arts but for the bar area which is amazing."

"Disappointing since the departure of the names that made 10 Arts popular. The restaurant was made popular by Eric Ripert and Top Chef contestant Jennifer Carrol. They are gone, and so is the creativity. OK, it's still in the great rotunda in the Ritz Carlton Philly, but the food was marginal at best. It's not creative, nor is it haute cuisine, but it was good and the servers were very friendly.
It's a problem when they are not busy enough on a Saturday night to use the entire restaurant. Instead, they tuck the dinner patrons up against the open lobby bar. No chance for a romantic dinner for 2 when your sitting next to your neighbor table and the lobby. And it's kid friendly on a Saturday night at 9PM.
Sorry not expected!"

"My husband and son enjoyed their meal very much. I, however, ordered the burger and found it rather small considering the size of the bun. The bun also tasted stale and fell apart as I was eating. The steak and short ribs that my husband and son ordered we're perfect. The waiter was great."

"We stopped in for dinner before the symphony. The food was very good but the service was just average. The waiter was not helpful. He came over and asked us if we would like to order. Then he said, "Oh there are some specials - do you want to hear them?" After that service was adequate & timely but that's all. We expected better at this restaurant."

"This is really more of a bar restaruant....Not what I had thought. The menue had only 4 main courses to choose from with one of those a burger. Having said that, the food we ordered was very good and the service was also good."

"We had dinner here before a Philadelphia Orchestra concert. The setting is attractive in the Ritz Carlton. Our meals were generally very good, although a couple of items were not well-conceived (the hearts of romaine, for example). My steak was excellent. The wine list, while not long, has a nice variety. We had a superb Barbaresco. Service was attentive and friendly."

"The menu has changed. The selection has been greatly reduced. The dinner seating is in the lounge area, which is odd, casual and less intimate. Although the food is very good, the change in seating and selection on the menu has taken away the special feeling of this restaurant."

"New parsed down menu! I had the sea bass-based soup as well as the sea bass for the main course. My dinner companion had the chicken soup as well as the chicken. Weird! The presentation and tastes have not been compromised by the downsized menu. Very tasty, indeed. Service was wonderful and intimate. If I were with my wife, this would have been perfectly romantic - but not this time.We look forward to visiting again next month!"

"This was the first time we dined there, and we were quite pleased. The food was excellent. The wine choices were very good. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I think the menu was varied enough to please a wide variety of palates, but my husband and I are partial to fish, and we certainly had a nice list to choose from. We would definitely go again and recommend it to others."

"When you first enter a restaurant and sit down at a table with your date, and the place is not busy, and you wait 15 minutes before you have to ask for acknowledgement by one of the wait staff that no one has asked you for your drink order, or that you exist, it is not a good start to the evening. After a quick apology and the getting on to good service, the food was very good. The per-theater dinner menu was a very good value and excellently prepared. Would I go back- I'm not sure and not because of the food, but because of my impression that I'm not the only one who has mentioned service quality issues at 10 Arts. Apparently, the management has a long way to go before this restaurant will get my recommendation...theslawslayer"

"We were a group of 4: an older (65) Center City Philadelphia couple hoping to impress our friends from Texas with the Philadelphia restaurant scene. We had eaten lunch at 10 Arts before, but no recent dinners. Younger friends thought it might be just the place: not too noisy so conversation would flow smoothly; good food to impress the Midwesterners and the right (slightly more dignified) ambiance. Unfortunately, although the noise level was OK (noisy office party in lounge area; later almost too quiet), the menu was limited, the food pedestrian (trout entree was especially tired), and the service sometimes overbearing. It's hard to politely say "It's delicious" when it clearly wasn't all that delicious."

"We chose 10 Arts Bistro for the tasting menu they offered on Valentines Day which came with a champagne pairing. We called in the afternoon and confirmed that the tasting menu was available and were told it was. Upon our arrival we were told that there was only one portion of the tasting menu left. The waitress said we could do a different tasting menu but did not explain this up front. After a few minutes we decided that we still wanted to do a tasting menu with the champagne pairing since that was the reason we chose this restaurant, so we called over our waitress and asked her to help us pick dishes for a tasting menu. She went through the menu with us. We were a but disappointed at first but it all worked out and the food was delicious"

"We went for Valentine's Day, asked to be seated in the dining room rather than the area that faces the lobby. Our waiter, Mikel, was special, offering not only great advice but a special courtesy. We had the chef's menu and were not disappointed in any of it. Mikel's wine recommendations complemented the dishes perfectly. From the amuse, a steamed oyster, to dessert, there was not a misstep. And my wife went home with a rose."

"Made reservation for 5:30....arrived about 5:15. Found no one at the front desk. Waited until 5:35 for someone to arrive at the desk to acknowledge our reservation The person at the front desk indicated that they were held longer than expected by their pre-dinner talk. This did not start us in a happy mood. The meal and service made up for the initial disappointment. Would recommend."

"Food was top notch, but the service was horrible. Host was in back room when we arrived and did not come to seat us for a while. Waiter never refilled out waters and took over 10 minutes to bring condiments. Very inattentive staff. When leaving, the host had to try to find our coats 3 times (bringing us other peoples coats) before I went into the coat closet and grabbed ours. For a "high end" place, I left thinking considerably less of the Ritz and 10 Arts."

"I was greatly disappointed with the food at 10 Arts last night. The honeycrisp apple salad was so drenched in dressing the only taste that came through was vinegar. The chicken paillard is was a tasteless fried chicken breast; McDonald's could have been better. The Pina Colada parfait was so frozen I could not distinguish the pineapple from the sorbet. On the plus side, my dining partner's seafood chowder was excellent. The service was polite, and the ambiance pleasant to the eye. The throbbing drumbeat of the music did nothing to create a relaxed dining experience. Sorry, I will not be returning."

"The food was excellent, but the atmosphere was odd and confusing. This elegant establishment is in a part of the huge lobby space of the Ritz Carlton Hotel (it's set off to the side) and there's no real physical barrier (no walls) to give the restaurant any privacy. We were seated in the lobby itself (some of the tables are actually in the lobby), which unfortunately gave us a great view of serveral large flat screen TVs. Then a guitar player started playing loud (and not so great) music to entertain the bar crowd in the lobby. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk. It really ruined the experience."

"We went to 10 Arts for restaurant week. Our reservation changed three separate times, and each time, the staff was lovely and happily adjusted to our needs.
I got the ceviche, lamb shank, and banana mousse. Everything was amazing. I also tried the trout and all the desserts and everything was delicious. The servings were small, but we left satiated.
The manager, Ryan, was beyond accommodating. He recommended wines for us and offered us a free brownie bite at the end of our meal. The bartender was also very sweet, making us drinks that were no longer on the menu. I would certainly recommend this."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch during restaurant week. Our server Katie was attentive and the food was outstanding. My friend had the sea food chowder and I had the honey crisp apple salad -- both outstanding! We enjoyed the Tagliatelle Pomodoro with Buffalo Mozzarella, Basil -- it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing! The desserts,Pina Colada Sundae Roasted Pineapple, Rum Gel, Coconut Foam and the Carrot Hazelnut Cake Hazelnuts, Carrot Sauce, Cream Cheese Sorbet topped off a wonderful lunch. We will definitely return."

"Food was great and most of the service was great. My only downside with this place is the décor. The 10 Arts building is a great large room that was a former bank built in the early 1900s. Very majestic but I felt like I was eating in the lobby of a hotel.
It was restaurant week and even thou I tip well I’m certain the check is less then what the waiter normally sees or maybe he was busier than normal. Everyone else from food runner to the hostess were great and treated us as a special guest. We were there for the food and were not disappointed."
