"Fun atmosphere, delicious food, but service could be improved. Waiter did not write anything down and got two thing wrong with drink order. My margarita up came with salt (which I didn't want). He said he'd fix it which I think meant going back and just pouring the drink in a new glass. I could taste the salt and the drink was losing its chill. Lemon twist came as a lime twist in another's martini.
Food came out correctly and was generally quite tasty. Would not recommend the tortilla soup, too thick.
Guacamole and short rib appetizer were standouts!

"we arrived & the "car" seat was just about to be free so the hostess hooked us up. we ordered the chef's tasting. and while everything was fabulous the food came out one thing after another and we didn't have time to enjoy. we asked them to slow everything down once we realized and they complied - only wish it was slow from beginning. Fabulous food. Good white sangria."

"Distrito is lively and well-designed and the food was tasty. The service was very friendly if a bit scattered and clumsy - the busboys dropped several items both when delivering food and when clearing the table and they did a lot of leaning over the people sitting on the end. Our server was friendly but seemed a bit distracted. The small plates were good but not exceptional, although the crab enchilada was very tasty."

"My wife and I went here for our anniversary. It was our first tapas experience but we understood the 'small plate' concept. We each ordered a couple of plates expecting that we might need another round by the time we got through things. But as we were working on the last round of our order we were both too stuffed to even consider desserts.
Additionally, the furnishings and ambience are unconventional in an interesting and refreshing way (e.g., group seating options included giant crescent wicker seats and bench swings)."

"We went there for the 3rd time and the salmon entree with grapes was probably the best salmon i've ever had. The mahi mahi tacos were above average, the guac was excellent and the tortilla soup was superb. Overall excellent fare at distritto. The restaurant was loud but that I think is part of what you get a a scene like there's. Definitely recommend the restaurant."

"I went to Distrito on a Thursday night with my boyfriend - we had been to other Jose Garces restaurants (Amada!) and liked them a lot, so we figured we would try out Distrito. The food was disappointing. We split 4 dishes: the shrimp ceviche, the duck barbacoa, the charred squid, and the pork belly. They were all OK - some of the flavors were tasty, and some were off (for example, the duck tasted a little weird, and I usually love duck). All in all, the food (and tacky atmosphere) were all just OK for a $100 dinner date. It felt like a classed-down, Jose Garces restaurant intended for a college crowd - and maybe that's what it is, but the price doesn't reflect that. I certainly didn't feel that we got our money's worth."

"Loved the food, loved the ambience, loved the music, loved the overall atmosphere, and did I say I loved the food?! This was my first experience at Distrito and it lived up to the hype. The drink service was a little slow (maybe I was drinking too fast in all my excitement) but they're pricey so that was okay. When the waiter unexpectedly brought out a complementary dessert, complete with candle, for our anniversary celebration that was the icing on the cake to make this an Outstanding review of Distrito!"

"What a place! We made reservations based on favorable reviews and were not disappointed. This isn't Taco Bell, it's modern Mexico City style food. No ground beef tacos here. We opted for the Frida Kahlo tasting menu (for 2 of us $55 each) and loved almost everything - the scallops were perfectly cooked but neither of us liked the sauce on top. It was a lot of food - We were so full by the time dessert came, we could only have a couple of small bites of a delicious citrus panna cotta and something else. I was in such a food coma at that point I can't remember! I don't know if a whole table has to order a tasting menu if one person does, but a tasting menu for two could definitely be shared with at least one other person. Delish!"

"I discovered that we are not tapas fans. The taste of the food was good but the portions were too unusual for us. That is not the fault of the restaurant, but another step on our journey of self-discovery.
And the noise level was too high. The music was cranked up, the acoustics were echo-y, and the sound bounced around the dining room. It was hard to talk across the table, and the tables are not that big.
That being said, the staff was very accommodating when I wanted to change my reservation the day before we dined. Kudos for that.
We will not be going back again soon."

"My boyfriend took me to Distrito to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing meal! We decided on the Chef's Tasting Menu since it was our first time there (without seafood because I don't eat it). It was an excellent value for extremely delicious food! I could barely eat dessert because I was full from the meal. Like any Jose Garces restaurant, everything was perfect. I would recommend to a friend!"

"Great ambience, very friendly people and great service. The food presentation was done extremely well but the authenticity of the mexican food was missing BUT to their defense this is, as Distrito calls it, a modern mexican restaurant (tapas at a Mexican restaurant). My best friend and I just thought the food could have been little more tastier but that just us AND it also may have simply been the dishes we ordered which were the los tacos de CAMARONES Y CHORIZO y enchilada de pollo. This place could definitely be for YOU!"

"I had yet to try a good margarita, and they definitely have one of the very best I ever tried here. I went to distrito for cinco de mayo.....the crowd was energetic, and the staff was at tentative and quite friendly......the shrimp tacos are where its at, and the flatbreads are all amazing...I had a delightful eveing here. some of the best Mexican I have ever had. "The food was delicious!
My friend ordered the carnitas, which not only came out very quickly but looked amazing.
The Ignacio nachos followed, and were perhaps the most amazing nachos ever. The chips were crisp, smothered in black beans, peppers, radish, and cheese. The portion was large enough for us to share.
I ordered the district chicken, and wow! was it awesome. My first time trying anything yuca, but I was pleasantly surprised. They tasted like a slightly sweet but savory potato. And the chicken itself was outstanding. All white meat, with a chipotle orange glaze that wasn't spicy but so savory and delicious. Again, the portion was quite large, so 4 of us finished it.

"I've been to quite a few mexican restaurants in the US--but Distrito is one of the very best. They've created an imaginative menu with creative twists on authentic mexican fare--the knid you actually find while in Mexico.
