The Sawmill's Prime Rib and Steak House is Located in the Terra Losa Shopping Center. The Sawmill serves "AAA" Alberta Beef and has one of Edmonton's finest salad bar. Along with a regular lunch menu, it features a luncheon buffet Monday through Friday from 11am. to 2.00pm. Whether you choose a la carte or buffet, your lunch can be as quick or relaxed as you would like. This location offers a dining room and pub. Our dining room is divided into three different sections over two levels, for private and intimate dining. Sundays we offer a brunch from 10am until 2:00pm. and a evening buffet from 4:00pm until 10:00pm

"We have been dining at Sawmill Westend for more than 6 years for birthdays, celebrations, and special events each year. We noticed that over the years the service has become less and less exceptional, the salad bar has become less in variety, and the dinner buffet has become less in the category of fine dining flavors. The dessert section should have a chocolate fountain but was reduced to a large bowl of chocolate sauce for mass dipping. Sawmill's banana bread used to be our a family favorite, but over the years the taste was reduced from tasty quality to chalky tasting, and was not missed when we did not see it on the buffet table. These are observations over the years. I still liked the Sawill standard in its the early years."

"We were 4 adults and 1 child (6 yrs). I had reserved online for Father's Day and had requested a specific area which was accommodated by your staff. We all had the buffet and were all pleased with our meal. Numerous choices. If there was a customer in the restaurant who could not find something they liked for their meal, they must have indeed been picky!"

"The buffet was the unanimous choice for our table and we all agreed it was a great choice - and the price could not be beat. A nice variety of salads (although some were not as fresh anymore - the tomatoes were not too great). The choices of the main meal made it hard not to overindulge. I stuck with the Roast Beef which was terrific. Another person at our table indicated that the braised pork was very good. Service was good. If anything, it was a little noisy - a very popular place with many families enjoying Father's Day. I liked the seat we were given - it was a booth but was open and airy with natural light."

"Our reservation was for 1030 am (3 people). We were glad to see that there were very few people and that we wouldn't have to wait in line for food items. It also meant that the food was fresh. Not sure where to start but the food was just "okay." Nothing special or fantastic. The roast beef looked good but was full of grissol and not very tender. The hot food items in the steam trays were good but the sausages tasted like they had a lot of filler in them and were less than meaty and tasty. I had the made to order omelet which I have to say was fantastic. They didn't over cook my omelet and it was just awesome!"

"We went to this restaurant to have a small dinner celebration to celebrate our wedding with our family. We had family members of all ages (2-92) and they catered to us all and were super friendly. "Found using the online reservation very quick and easy to use. Will most definitely go this route again. There was 5 of us and 4 had the buffet. Pleasantly surprised by the variety of the buffet and enjoyed by all. The food from the menu was very good also. An enjoyable experience from the reservation through to the food and service. "We found the atmosphere to be very welcoming and pleasant. The service was very efficient and unobtrusive. A large (and fresh) selection of hot brunch items combined with an extensive salad selection served to make our visit a very enjoyable dining experience. All this combined with a delicious dessert selection made our time at the Sawmill time well spent.
One minor criticism, the addition of a Latte to your menu would be much appreciated."

"We have had dinner at the West End Sawmill many times and thought it was wonderful.
The food at the Mother's Day brunch was awful. There was a large selection of salads and fruit and desserts and that was all fine. The hot items - like the pancakes, eggs, etc. were all cold, rubbery and honestly very unappetizing.
Brunch here may be better if you order off the menu - haven't tried that option. And the service is always good."

Billing is very complicated for large groups and they are unable to split bills easily - which is crazy. The front end staff were rude, all four of the women we dealt with wre short tempered and extremely rude, both in their verbal exchange with us as well as their facial expressions.
We had a very large group celebration and it was sad to end the night on the sour tines while trying to pay our bill."

"Upon arriving at restaurant was very busy (7;20) checked in and waited for our table. After 30 Minutes still no table and the person who was seating the persons gave our table to someone else, which upset me gratly. I voiced my disapproval and in short time they found us another table.
Our server was absolutely incredible and very friendly,funny and attentive.The restaurant paid for the drinks due to the delay and the desert for the birthday girl was on the house. Must apprecviated and would recommend to some."

"It was good. The food was good. The service was a bit disorganized, but possibly the waiter was fairly new. He did the job and was very friendly, etc., just a bit disorganized - he was trying to serve drinks to two or three tables at the same time and mixed things up a little, and he would pass food plates or drinks to someone at the tabl and ask them to pass it down. We will certainly be back as it was not a big issue, just something to offer a critique."

One party said her yorkshire pudding was burnt. We waited quite a while for dessert and then my lemon tart crust had that just 'off' taste of being stale. Having said that, the kids meals were delivered quickly, including their ice cream. I found the restaurant noisy but it was Saturday night, and there were a fair number of children there."

"We have enjoyed the Sunday buffet very much over the years for quality and value for money - less so at lunch but still worth stopping in. The steak and prime rib is excellent at dinner. The service is pretty good if not absolutely attentive. (At least the young servers don't ask "How are you guys tonight? or "How are we tonight?" Not the best openers, particularly for diners of retirement age."

"We made a reservation several days in advance but were seated in a booth (4 adults and 2 children) so it was a bit too cozy. Very busy and waiter seemed to have too many tables to cover as service was slow. Food was good, everyone was happy with their meal. Their children's menu is disappointing, would be nice to see some grilled chicken or small portion of ribs on them instead of hot dog, fish sticks, hamburgers.

"We came for my wife's birthday and had a good experience. I was disapointed that we could not take advantage of a $25.00 deduction for her meal, as my youngest son ordered from the children's menu. We had an appetizer, an additional side and a dessert in addition to our meals, so I hoped to get the savings. Otherwise, we had a good experience."

"I'm not the type of person who complains much at or about restaurants, and I don't know if this would qualify or not, but the service was really slow on the night I went to the Sawmill. Took nearly 20mins just to get our drink order placed and just under an hour for our food to arrive, for our party of 4. The food itself was fine, just the service was lacking. I've never had that sort of slow service at the Sawmill by Capilano, so maybe it's just at the west end, or maybe it was just an off night for our server. That being said, I'd stick with the Sawmill either in Capilano or on Calgary Trail, before giving Sawmill West End another chance."

"My wife and I reserved through Open Table, and the reservation experience went off without a glitch. A very effective system. Upon entering your restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly hostess, who welcomed us and seated us promptly. We then had the memorable experience of being served by Johnny. Johnny was friendly, warm, welcoming, and very professional throughout our dining experience. Johnny certainly deserves to receive an award for his outstanding service.His involvement in our dining experience rates among the top service experiences we have ever had! The filet and prime rib dinners, as well as the deserts were prepared and presented excellently!"
