"We love this place and come here often, but it just seems to get better every time. We made reservations and were promptly seated when we arrived. We brought our 14 month old daughter and my wife's parents. Everyone there is so friendly to our daughter. Though the place is definitely upscale, it's not a place you should be afraid to bring your kids if you want a nice evening out and they can handle sitting through a meal without running around.
The food was excellent as always. My wife and I shared the gnocchi. It was amazing. We always get the avocado crostinis to start, so we did again. They are so delicious - you have to try them if you like avocado.
It was another great evening at Sapori!!"

"We were celebrating a family graduation and there were 7 of us. The food was wonderful, server was the best! I had the ribs and my husband had the lobster ravioli, we couldn't decide which dinner was better so we shared both plates."

"After a miscommunication between our server and the staff, the meal we had asked to be boxed was mistakenly thrown away. Our server promptly told us and said that he had already put in another order of our dish. Five minutes later, we had a fresh plate to take home. Our server was thoughtful, curteous, and engaging."

"Sapori is our go-to spot for reliable Italian dining with a flair in Lincoln Park. The wait staff is knowledgeable and at the ready, but not intrusive. In the large upstairs room, they can set up tables that can accommodate your largish family or friend group. Nice wine list of Italian and California wines. Some of the entrees can get pricey, but they are worth it. Alternatively, you can choose the reasonably-priced, fresh-tasting pastas, which are delicious and range from old favorites to innovative ingredient combinations--and there probably will be enough for you to take home. Very nice bread as well. There's outside seating along Schubert on summer evenings."

"We went here on a Friday night before heading down to Kingston Mines for some blues. The menu is expansive, which usually makes me worry about quality. Not a problem. Everything was delicious. The portions are huge, so much that you could eat a meal, take the rest home in a box, and feel a family of four. Not sure why they need to do that, because the quality of the meal was exceptional. It's obvious from the layout that they have expanded by knocking out a wall here and buying up some space there, so the restaurant is now quite large, but they still have that homey feel. Our waiter recognized several regulars, and the owner came out to welcome us as first-time visitors. Nice touches."

"I love this place. I've eaten here several times now, and everything that I have tasted has been delicious! I would recommend the muscles in white wine sauce as well as the asparagus dish as appetizers. The pasta is all home made and each dish is flavorful and not what you find at every Italian restaurant. The desert is also quite good if you have room, the tirmisu is amazing. The service is good considering how busy the restaurant gets."

"It was not crowded.We had 2 ppl in our party &were seated in the back next to a party of 10.It was incredibly loud.We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. It took another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive.It took 20 minutes for our 'appetizer' to arrive, which was the avocado bruschetta.It was literally 2 pieces of bread.One for each of us.We were STARVING.The pasta we got was actually good, when it FINALLY arrived.Our server was AWFUL. She never came & checked on us ever.The tiramisu was just OK, the presentation was terrible, looked like it was slung on the plate. Then,when we finally got our bill, our server wouldn't leave us alone. Another server actually picked up our check, it felt like we were being rushed out."

"Wonderful ambiance, excellent food, and outstanding service. I love this place. I had one of their seafood pasta dishes--mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops over spaghetti in a very nice red sauce. My three dinner companions also loved their meals, including gnocchi, veal, and salmon. Service was perfect--attentive but not intrusive, and our server matched a wonderful red Italian wine that neatly complemented our dishes. Highly recommend Sapori Trattoria. Will definitely return the next time I visit Chicago."

"It has its neighborhood charm. No question. But too many tables compacted in to the darkened space. Be ready to meet the neighbors. I read a review that it was great Italian food, but in Chicago you can find better. Portions are large. I selected a poor quality Chianti and the waiter said, "well, its cetainly a good value". I guess he was politely saying you ought to upgrade, but the featured wine was 50 bucks. That is a curious price point for a good Italian bottle at a neighborhood place."

"The menu was very limited and instead of brining one thing at a time, we were forced to sit for a very long time without our food and then everything was brought out at once. The quality of food was mediocre at best but that's probably because tappas is a Spanish specialty, not Italian. It wasn't very romantic because the lighting was all wrong and fellow diners wore whatever they wanted, therefore it didn't feel like it was an intimate scenario. Musicians took a long break -- we heard them only for 20 mins. They did not look and did not appear professional."

"This is a great authentic Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, but it's a tight squeeze (we didn't mind though). There isn't a bar area to sit at while you wait for a table. But once you're seated, you will enjoy the small, intimate setting. Food is delicious and service was good too."

"ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!!! Our server, Linus, was attentive and gave great recommendations. I am generally reluctant to follow all recommendations thinking there are other reasons, but I went with what Linus recommended and so did my husband and they were FABULOUS!!!!!!!! "When we came into the restaurant the air conditioning was on and it was really cold (it was only about 48 degrees outside). When I asked the host if he could turn the air conditioning down or off he told me to order a glass of wine to warm up. I'm pregnant and visibly showing. He was completely inappropriate. The food was good, but the portions were way too big. One of our friends ordered a seafood stew that was served in a huge white family style platter. It look like he was eating from a trough."
