"We had a table by the window which on a gorgeous spring day is really something special. Waiting for our table (we were early) we had a drink at the bar with a wonderful bartender and a couple of fabulous cocktails. Our waiter was efficient, well versed and friendly. The cod tempura appetizer was great as was the duck ravioli and the rib eye...the risotto, though, was not up to par...but it was Mother's Day with a full house, so a real challenge for the kitchen. Notwithstanding the risotto, dining here was a super experience....And to my surprise there was a lovely gift from the restaurant to each mother...a really nice ending to a lovely meal."

"This is one of the best restaurants in the area. The food and service were outstanding as was the wine. Our waiter was friendly to a fault. I had the best veal loin I have ever eaten and my wife the smoked duck which could not stop raving about."

"Food was nothing to rave about and so I consider it overpriced. Service was pleasant but not quite attentive enough. Portions were good. Very nice atmosphere & spacious with tables far apart. If you decided to try it, it would not be such a terrible experience but I doubt it would be memorable."

"We enjoyed the overall experience. Attentive staff and excellent waiter. Our order was delayed and my pork was slightly overcooked- this was remedied but there was an additional wait. The food was delicious - the duck ravioli was quite good, but a little thin on the duck. The frisee was especially good, and some of the best asparagus I've ever tasted. The lemon dessert with madelines had great balance and flavour and was perfect choice afterwards. We had no wine. We will be back."

"While not culinary geniuses, these chefs have mastered their craft. The oysters were superb. The hand-made penne was scrumptious, with an exceptional sauce, dotted with cooked-yet-crunchy pancetta and peas. The duck was not greasy, the skin perfectly crisp, while the beef was well-textured, not fatty yet tender, and fully flavored. The saucier knows how to make a sauce, with a light yet rich classic bearnaise, lightly redolent of tarragon, as well as a wine reduction for the beef. The rich, winy, duck jus was mouth-watering too. The shared dessert,a chocolate hazelnut log--just plain yummy and very, very rich. The server knew his stuff and recommended perfect wines. One criticism: The hosts seem inexperienced."

"The roast duck was superb and the side of potatoes sinful, but delicious. This restaurant has it all! Our server, Borkos, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Watch for the lagniappe at meal's end. We were delighted by a special cake honoring our 7th wedding anniversary and then came two delicious beignets! (We were wafted back to the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans.)

"Having eaten in 2941 multiple times, the family and I were surprised about inconsistency and a couple of unspectacular dishes. The swordfish was bland. The orzo had little flavor. On the bright side, the duck entree and duck ravioli, and mushroom appetizers were excellent. Service great as usual too. We'll be back, but with a bit more skepticism. One mediocre meal is not a big deal."

"2941 was our favorite restaurant in the area. Then they did the refresh at the beginning of 2012, the menu changed, and we were reluctant to go back. We wanted a tasting menu -- not another casual place. We finally went -- and it seems like they have morphed back to the way it was before, without the tablecloths. Our meal was outstanding. Strangely, there was no amuse, and the bread was not all it was before. But after that it was sensational -- the halibut, the smoked venison, and the lime dessert were standouts. Service was elegant. At $85, this was the best five-course tasting we have had in 2013, anywhere. The dining room continues to be the best in the area. And the kitchen can compete and beat any kitchen downtown."

"Nothing to complain about really... .great service, food and ambience. The menu selection was god although some unfamiliar goers may expect a broader selection so they should be aware. Wine was excellent. A complimentary desert with birthday wishes was nice! Other desserts were great as well. My son says have Mango Ice Cream!

"Having this was our first time, I will say that it won't be our last. The menu provided a lot of choices for different interests despite the limited selection. It truly focused on the food and service worthy of a 5-star restaurant. The surrounding is excellent, but the parking (self park) is a bit confusing and a walk through an office building taking the elevator down. While we are not wine drinkers, I can tell you the wine list is vast. I see it as a great place for dining where pairing wine with food as the activity. The décor is contemporary with an air of elegance absent pretention. Good service, but the staff needs to smile more as they were too serious. Very enjoyable and a bit pricey, but it is money well spent."

"2941 is one of my favorite restaurants in Northern Virginia for fine dining and special occasions. Food and service are both excellent, rivaling many of DC's top restaurants. The view is also very nice through the huge glass walls."

"Came here to celebrate a birthday. Very nice place in the lobby level of the GD Bldg. Free valet. The restaurant itself is a big open space like a hall with 2 priv dining rooms and a bar. B/c of the occasion, they gave us a nice two top by the window. Overall, decent ambiance. Server was friendly, mature and courteous. Unlike other places, there was no snobby attitude. The genuine customer service theme was visible here at all levels from the manager down. It made for a really enjoyable evening. The small plates and apps came out very quickly; faster than I've ever experienced but there was a bit of a wait for the entrees. Would have given 5 stars but our free dessert came to us after we ordered two others and was too much food."

"Overall, it was a very nice evening. Service was attentive without being disruptive. Waiter had very good suggestions and knew the menu well. Duck was really, really, really good as were the calamari. The off-menu dessert trio was very good.
The only complaint was a the ribeye - a little disappointing for the price. It was too thin and a bit overcooked, although the flavor was very good. We may all order the duck when we go back."

"When I want exceptional food and service and a quiet, intimate atmosphere, 2941 always comes to mind. The food was exceptional - we had the tasting menu and each bite was exceptional from crab cakes to rock fish to a veggie dish that was light and delicious. Dessert consisted of three treats, each exquisitely prepared and beautifully served. The wine list was extensive and our server was knowledgable and sensitive to our timing.
The only mar on an otherwise perfect evening was the couple who brought their toddler and allowed her to cry and scream. If you can afford a fine restaurant, hire a sitter - if not for yourselves, for the other guests."

"For at least the third time , we've spent Easter at 2941. Instead of our normal dinner reservation, we decided to opt for lunch. The dining area was relatively quiet and it seemed as if diners were dispersed throughout. This made our table area cozier. The fixed price menu was so interesting and varied that we had a hard time making our selections. The service and quality of the food was up to our expectations and we look forward to our next occasion at 2941."

"I'd put 2941 up against the best downtown restaurants: the cuisine is creative, elegant, and memorably delicious. Service is impeccable, and the beautifully appointed, cathedral ceilinged room has a splendid view over a small lake. Altogether a very special dining experience.
Standouts included a salmon small bite, handmade penne carbonara with fresh peas and pancetta, grilled swordfish ... and a tour de force chocolate hazelnut bar with malted milk ice cream."

"While the food is still quite good (and still quite expensive) the service has gone downhill. This is a high end restaurant and I would expect high end service to go along with it. High end restaurants typically offer black napkins to those wearing black slacks/skirts (they do not have black napkins - I asked since their white napkins were leaving lint all over us). We ordered coffee/tea and dessert. We were long done with our dessert when the coffee/tea service arrived. We assumed a tea box would be coming since our server did not ask what type we preferred. Instead the tea bag was in the pot. I asked what type of tea it was and was told there were other types - why weren't those presented for us to choose? Several other service issues..."
