"After a day long BRK annual meeting and a evening of shopping at NFM, we were looking for a nice place for dinner that could get us right in. Through Open Table, it showed us that Spezia was nearby and could get us right in. The choices on the menu had a great variety, not the standard Italian items. After spending some time with the menu, we chose a salmon pasta dish and a chicken pasta dish. Started the meal of with a couple of dinner salads and finished the evening with the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream. The service was very good and the prices were reasonable. A nice, relaxing way to finish a long day."

"We are about monthly regular visitors to Spezia. Enjoy the food and atmosphere, as well as a nice happy hour. This time I tried the walleye. It was good. Bread is always good and wife's salmon was about the same as usual. This waiter did not have much of a personality. Very little conversation and rarely showed he cared we were there."

"We have finally found an Italian restaurant in Nebraska to take friends and family to that we can be proud of. Having grown up in St. Louis and enjoyed "The Hill" we have found good Italian food quality and taste diminishing throughout the US. Not so at Spezia! From the salad to the marina sauce, from the wine to the main course, this is the tastiest food I have had in decades. The four of us for lunch tried five courses of food to really get picture of Spezia's quality. All five of the dishes, including ravioli, steak, chicken, and fish were winners. And that was just for a lunch! We are looking forward to going back for dinner."

"Full marks in every category for this Italian themed restaurant. From the moment of arrival, friendly and knowledgeable service was clearly evident. The wait staff was attentive without rushing us through dinner. The food could not have been better. The pasta dishes were ample, flavorful and fun. The pecan crusted walleye was light and moist. "Another Omaha gem. The cheese board was tasty, a great selection of meats and cheeses. The Cioppino Spezia is one of the best ciopinos I have had anywhere. My wife loved her chicken parm. The beef burgundy special got rave reviews from my son and the free range chicken was enjoyed by my daughter-in-law. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The tiramasu was also very good."

"I have always loved Spezia and have had many luncheons there. I don't know if there has been a change in management or chefs, but our recent lunch was very disappointing - I had Gnocci Allo Pallo (sp?). It used to have a nice rich sauce and the gnocci were just right. This week it was so dry, I had to ask for extra sauce to cover the gnocci - which were pasty. Others in our party had the italian beef sandwich which was unremarkable except for the bun being too hard. A luncheon salad was fine, but the waitress had to be reminded to bring the side of fruit.The waitress had also forgot a side salad that had been ordered as well. We will probably try Spezia again sometime, but it will be a while."

"Very intimate and romantic environment. With online request we asked for a private booth setting to celebrate our anniversary and it was waiting for us. Our server was attentive but not intrusive and had helpful recommendations on wine and dinner choices. We had the Dill Salmon Tortellini and Beef Burgandy and both entrees were perfectly prepared with wonderful sauces and pasta prepared perfectly. We spent an hour and half for our dinner and never felt rushed and never felt unattended to. Will be back more more anniversaries."

"We were reminded about Spezia because it was on the Passport, but it is one of our very fave dinner places.....we had our daughter's rehearsal dinner there....I'm not a big fan of chewy calamari and I prefer Moretti Rosa, but other than that the experience was perfect. We all took some entrees home with us, but I could not resist a late night snack of the Salmon ala Rosa......I am already looking forward to ordering that again!"

"My wife and I had a great time at Spezia for our anniversary dinner, the prices are a little high, but they do have some happy hour prices available, they are kind of hidden in the menu, and we had to remind our waiter of them when he brought the bill. Definitely a very romantic atmosphere, and perfect for special occasions."

"Food was a real disappointment. Had one of their specials - beef burgundy. No flavor, cream sauce was runny, very little beef in the dish.
My wife's steak was unflavorful, nothing special.
Wine list seems to have been cut way back. Weak selection on moderately priced red wines.

The service was top notch which to me means not everyone walking by stops and interrupts your meal or conversation to ask how it tastes. "Spezia is our special-occasion restaurant, most recently for Valentine's Day. When I made the reservations I asked for (and got) the "private booth" - which is enclosed on three sides - for even more romantic ambiance. But really any table would have been fine. The restaurant is well-lit (dark enough to be atmosperhic but light enough to read a menu), has good accoustics (there's a background level of conversation but no dining-hall clatter) and is divided and laid out in such a way that every table has a boutique restaurant feel. The service, as always, was friendly and efficient without being intrusive, and the food and drink arrived in a timely manner. We had our favorites - Cheese Tortellini and Beef Burgundy - reliably tasty."

"We made rservations and had to wait a few minutes. The staff was very accomodating. We recieved a free dessert-very unexpected, but tasty.
We had the steak with cream gorgenzola and the chicken with gnocci and spinich in a wonderful sauce. Both were excellent.

"We go here occasionally and it is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is exceptional and the service too but tonight, it seemed like we were around the corner from the server's tables and we were sometimes ignored, especially when it came time for our check which I always hate. Also, if you want quiet, I would not sit where the angled glass ceiling/roof is at. It seemed like all the noise from the restaurant reverberated at that location. My wife and I had a hard time holding a conversation due to some very loud larger groups in the area with a lot of laughter outbursts. We have found other areas of the restaurant to be quieter in the past. Otherwise, I highly recommend this restaurant."
