"Went to Room 39 for a business dinner based upon a co-workers recommendation. Was quite enough for a business conversation while other couples and friends in the restaurant were enjoying their dinner. The food was excellent overall. A good variety of seafood and pasta dishes. The goat cheese gnocchi was the highlight of my dinner. I think the best compliment was the business associate that was with me (from California) said the scallops were as fresh and tasty as what he eats on the coast. Didn't try them, but they did look outstanding. Wine selection is broad but not with known names. Overall very good food and enjoyable business dinner."

"Room 39 is a nice balance between traditional and progressive cuisine wrapped up in a comfortable fine dining experience. The food is not only excellent tasting, but the variety and selection is very good, too. My wife and I especially liked the 4 course menu option with wine pairings where you choose a soup or salad, pasta dish, entree, and dessert and the restaurant matches each course with a special glass of wine. In addition, many of the items on the menu are locally grown, so Room 39 is a great supporter of the region's farmers.
Finally, we can't let the review go without complimenting their accommodating and friendly service. My wife and I had a show to catch that evening and the restaurant got our meal ready with time to spare."

"Becoming a regular in our rotation and never disappooints! Four course tasting is always the way to go for $39. Done the wine pairing twice now and both times the pairings were pretty spot on. Menu is seasonal with lots of local ingredients. Good flavor combinations."

"I've had three dining experiences now at Room 39 and am always completely satisfied. On this occasion I brought my mom for the first time. She was immediately impressed with the bartender who recommended a great wine and escorted us to our table when it was ready. We both did the tasting and enjoyed trying several different things. My favorite being the smoked trout salad! Both of our entrees were a little to rich but still very good! I would definetly recommend this place for a truly memorable dining experience!"

"No matter how many times I come here, it continues to impress. I had the Pappadelle with save and Morrels that was unbelievable. Starter was Smoked trout - perfectly smoked over a bed of lightly-dressed greens. Fantastic. My wife had the beat salad - always a favorite of ours as it's light, but extremely flavorful. For dinner she had the KC Strip - perfectly cooked the mash were a bit salty on their own, but excellent with the steak (an odd first for us here). All in all, Bravo!"

"I'd never been here before, but it's quickly become on of my new favorite destination spots. Everything is local ... homemade and inspired. "We took advantage of their tasting menu. This gives you four courses for a low price. Wow, what a deal. We have always found their dishes to be unique and surprisingly delicious. "We chose rm 39 from its outstanding reputation. Our anniversary dinner was the occasion and we invited two great friends. All of us totally enjoyed the food, wine, and ambiance. The waitress was extremely accommodating as we were all very talkative and slow to decide on food. The appetizer escargot on sweet potato purée was quite delicious, and all our entrees were magnificent. My husband was salivating over the sweetbreads only to discover they were sold out. He did his very best persistent grovelling to the waitress and maitre d and voila!, a plate of sweetbreads magically appears! A great time, laugh, and delicious feast was enjoyed... We also had a delicious apple tatin and lava cake for dessert. Outstanding!"

"The pasta is AMAZING! Best EVER! I went with my boyfriend and we each ordered the tasting menu. It was a great value for the amount of food, but the star was by far the past course! "Several years ago, we were at Prospero's Books across the street from Room 39 and realized we were hungry for dinner. We asked the clerk which of the local restaurants was his favorite, and he suggested Room 39. They squeezed us in without a reservation, and they've never let us down since. Don't take crazy chances--get a reservation.
Room 39 increasingly emphasizes locally sourced food and wine. It's quiet. The staff is pleasant. The food is delicious. The place is "our speed"; there are folks in jeans and folks in suits. Try the cheese plate.
Parking is tight, so leave plenty early, enjoy the walk to Prospero's Books and hang out with the literature until your table is ready. Get a little more of the Volker neighborhood this way."

"Room 39 is definitely a keeper. The food was uniformally excellent from the salads, pasta, entrees (scallops, steak,seafood stew), and desert. Mondays are 50% off on wine by glass and bottle (under $100). The four course option allows selection across the menu. the service was excellent and well informed. It became very busy during the course of our meal, yet dinner conversation was easy."

"Our waiter Justin was excellent. We were by the front door and window which we both liked and our food was very good. The area was a little cool, and the manager kept closing the inside curtain because the people waiting to be seated did not. Food great so was the service. The snow made it difficult to park, but that is not the fault of Room 39."

"I went on Valentine's Day so it was a pris fix menue which I found to be overpriced. At almost twice the price of its normal "tasting" menue, it was not special. The beef course was excellent, but little else. The wine pairing (also at an inflated price was good, but only half pours for three pairings and four courses. Two or three glasses would have been better at a comparable price.
I see that the normal tasting menue is only $39 not $75, and might be a better value, but I would not return on a special occassion."

"My husband and I had a wonderful meal and early Valentine's celebration at Room 39. We were seated right away and the server did not rush us, which was nice because it took us a while to decide what to order. I highly recommend the lobster gnocchi! We had been to Room 39 many times for brunch on the weekends, but we'll be going back for dinner more often. It's a great place for a date."

"I love this restaurant, it is not your run of the mill menu, which is really refreshing!
