"Very good experience. Food was thought-provoking. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The halibut was outstanding as was the rabbit dish. The wine pairing was excellent and I would definitely recommend it. Ambience was casual-chic, which set for a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. We chose the chefs menu (with wine pairing) and we are very glad we did this instead of going with the tasting menu. The food and wine quality were well worth it. Portions were definitely adequate and we left the restaurant full and satisfied. Definitely a place worth coming to in Chicago as the food and wine experience was exceptional!"

"Have a decent meal before you go because this restaurant is not about feeding you. It's about food as entertainment and getting you to guess how little food can be exhibited on a plate and still qualify as a plate. The eight plate tasting menu is actually five amuse bouche and three minimalist plates (fish, lamb and dessert). The service (the only bright spot) struggled mightily to overcome the minimalist food offerings and the absence of anything approaching ambience. The wine pairings were the best thing in the entire experience."

"Wife and I are big fans of Mr. Elliott from his show. We were expecting something totally different than what we got. Apparently, sometime in the not so distant past Graham changed the restaurant format to a pretentious taster menu. We just did not expect that from his brand. The vegetarian menu can best be described as garnish. The bites were not that impressive and the service was ultimately below average for this type of restaurant. When we arrived we sat in the bar and 5 minutes later were escorted to our table in the bar. Half the tables were empty and in one instance a couple arrived with their 5 year old at the bar table next to us. Service was not precise like similar places. It was too expensive for such a bland experience."

"The cuisine here at Graham Elliot is both innovative and delicious. I think the food is at an even higher level than when I dined here last year and Andrew Brochu was the executive chef. I was shocked at how empty the restaurant was on a Friday night though. I had the chef's tasting menu and left comfortably full. There is no bread served along with the meal, which is rare, but I think it's a good thing in this instance or I might have been tempted to fill up on it. Stand out courses include the spot prawn with avocado, butternut squash bisque with kaffir lime, coconut, coriander, yuzu and chile, foie gras fig newton and the strawberry dessert with pistachio cake, chevre covered strawberry and peppercorn mousse."

Great service,we did the chef's menue all paired and it was to die for. Wasnt sure I could do 15 course meal with wine, but it was perfect.

"The BEST food I've had so far in the city (and I go to quite a bit of restaurants). Each bite contains different flavors making the food complex and delicious. Its pricey, but you get high quality food and top notch service. I plan on going back to try the Chef's menu."

"This restaurant offered only two menu choices. A ten course tasting menu or a fifteen course tasting menu. Then the only other decision was whether or not to take the "chef's choice" wine parings. I suggest having the wine pairings. I am not going to try and describe the wonderful presentations or the superior service, but suffice it to say that although the meal was the most expensive meal I have ever bought it was also the best meal I have ever bought."

"We went to Graham Elliot with very high expectations. Some of the food was very good, but some of it was particularly bad. We had the less expensive tasting menu, and we were so hungry when we left that we actually went to another restaurant downtown and had dinner. That being said, this place was way overpriced. 375 dollars per couple, for a tasting menu and a couple of drinks was just pathetic. I would not recommend this to anyone. The service was very efficient but our waiter was a bit creepy"

"I made reservations here to celebrate my husbands birthday, after reviewing the 2013 Michelin Guide. I was really excited to see what made this a two star rating. We went with the Chef's menu and our own selection of wine. Our favorites on the menu were the risotto and in particular the butternut squash soup. The egg dish was a pass for my husband and I. The service was excellent; the ambiance was more bright than I am accustomed to, but overall the experience was great. I would highly recommend this fine dining experience for special occasions. Upon leaving we were given a biscotti as a treat, best biscotti I've ever had. Valet service employees are jerks, reason for the 4 star rating vs 5."

"My husband and I had one of the best meals and an amazing dining experience at Graham Elliot. Since I am pregnant they went above and beyond to accommodate special drink pairings for each course and special preparations for certain courses. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and I cannot than them enough for the wonderful experience they gave us. We mentioned it was our 5 year anniversary so they created a special treat for us at the end of the meal and gave us personalized menus with Graham Elliot's autograph."

"Overall it was very good. You can see, taste and feel all of Graham's creativity in the courses he serves. I order the full tasting menu with wine pairing. All the wines he serves in the wine pairing are from Spain, overall they are really well select, yet it seems that there is room for improvement, specially in one of the combination.

"I watch Graham Elliot on Master Chef and decided I had to eat here just because of what he put together on the show. The food was absolutely fantastic. The wine pairings were delicious even though I am not a huge wine fan. Graham Elliot's went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed every last moment of our dinner. My only negative about the restaurant is that we only were given two pieces of the venison. I could have eaten many many more as this was absolutely delicious."

"From all appearances this restaurant is about to close. Sparse amount of tables in a very large space, no tablecloths. I would expect much more for a dinner that cost $500/couple. The service and food were good, but the overall experience was awkward and not as enjoyable as it should have been."

"I was not a fan of the tasting menu. This is way overpriced for what you get. Some of the items were delicious, like the beef and fish. But some of the dishes are ridiculous like the miniature radish, the shot of celery and the egg dish. I looked at the G.E. Bistro menu and I believe I would have been better off going there. That menu looks more up my alley. I cannot recommend the current menu at GE."

"Maybe a bit beyond my palate but I was less than impressed with the food. I've eaten many places where the ingredients were foreign to me but I still felt the end result was amazing. At GE, I didn't taste the summation of many different ingredients, only the lacking end result. No complex flavor profiles to speak of and I struggled to make my way through some of the dishes. Way too expensive to fall this flat. I won't be returning to GE after waiting well over a year to find the time to eat this man's food.
Worth mentioning, the service was flawless- just the kind of service I wanted for my wife on our anniversary. The restaurant was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Watch out for foam..."

"By far, Graham Elliot, was the most AMAZING dining experience of my LIFE!!! The service is OUT OF THIS WORLD FLAWLESS; the ambiance is PERFECTION; and the food is almost beyond words! It was as beautiful, visually, as it was DELICIOUS! No, delicious, doesn't describe the food well enough, HEAVENLY would be a more fitting description. The level of creativity found in both the presentation AND the preparation of the food at Graham Elliot defies words! It was like going to a fine art museum for, not just your eyes; but, your soul, AND, your mouth!!!!! We went there for a big celebration in our family and it was perfect for that!!! My hat is off to Graham!!!!!! A++++++++++!!!"

"I don't get it...bright lights, head banging music, dead serious wait staff, and very expensive. My first trip a few years back was exceptional...friendly, fun, and incredibly good food. What happened and who is the target customer now? I have recommended this restaurant 100 times since my first trip and I'll never recommend again. A $500 disappointment."

"This restaurant was an enormous disappointment. It is a good thing we had great company, which was the only thing that made up for the lack off food and terrible wine in the 10 course two hour meal. Trust me, save your $800 bucks and purchase a bottle of boonsfarm and and a subway sandwich and you will be more satisfied and way ahead."

"If you haven't experienced gastronomic dining,this is the place to be broken in.Without expectations or much of an introduction to this kind of experience,outside of beautifully composed coffee table books and youtube videos on this style of cuisine,I entered into a new world of culinary art.What I didn't realize was that this experience would be like no other ever before. From presentation,to compilation,to transformation,each & every one of our 12 courses were exquisite and unique.Sous Vide, now a new rage in haute' cuisine,demonstrates perfection in cooking everything from delicate sable to maple & brown sugar enhanced baby carrots.To describe each course will take away the eliminate of surprise.Just think Fun,Food&yes,worth every penny."

"As I made plans for a weekend trip to Chicago, I made sure to book reservations at GE. We were informed that only the 10 and 15 course tastings were available and opted for the smaller option. Though it is certainly pricy, the entire experience made the indulgence well worth it for a special occasion. The food was delicious and absolutely beautiful and the service was outstanding."

"Excellent creative cuisine molecular food experience. Decor is subpar to price and culinary standards ( polyester napkins, no table cloth, no flower or decorative accents) loud and cold. Entrance is almost into a housing project. Needs to change. Surprised about the 2 Michelin stars!"

"I do not like to give a Michelin 2-star restaurant 3 stars, but have to because of the ambiance. The place is cold - wooden floors, wooden tables, open ceiling with pipes - and loud (think DJ bar loud). In my opinion, you shouldn't mix fine dining with this type of atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening for a 6:30 seating and were the first to arrive. Through the evening there were at most 7 other tables seated (less than half capacity). The male at one table was wearing shoddy jeans and a plaid shirt - definitely not M2-star. Atmospere can kill even the best. Last note is the wine pairing, which was all spanish and cheap. Again, good food, good wine, good ambience - that is what captures Michelin stars - this one won't last."

"The place was a joke. As in the joke was on us. I can't believe that people bite off on how great the "food adventure" they are about to embark. I give the service credit for keeping a straight face as they are describing the garbage we are about to eat. Graham Elliot has found the secret sauce for douping want a be foodies."

"This was an amazing place! We had an early valentines dinner, the day before 2/14, and were bery impressed. The service was the best I have experienced, the food was incredible and ingenious. Note that we had only the choice of 2 pre fixe meals, so we were there for 3 hours."

"Ladies and gentleman if you have ever wondered what excellent service is, then you mist eat at G.E. Wow what an amazing evening worth every penny. The food was some of the most beautifully presented and delicious food I have ever jad the pleasure to view and consume and this is coming from a professional chef. The wine parings where outstanding and some took a complex route over tje pallet. The cocktails are absolutley incredible. Chef Elliot and his staff are rated and ranked as high as they are because of their attention to detail is dead on."

"Hmm... I guess we weren't really sure what to expect from Graham Elliot. We sort of thought it would be playful, comforting and filling but it was nothing like that. Overall the service was fine and the food was okay but it wasn't really worth it from a value perspective. We went with the 12 course tasting and skipped the wine. The entire dinner lasted more than four hours and was extremely expensive!!! I still can't get over how expensive it was for what you got. We also left feeling hungry because everything was so tiny. The ambience was really not what we expected..: maybe because it was the day before valentines but the place was empty and quite and didn't feel like a truly fun place to be. I wish we loved it but it was just ok."

"Everything was excellent. The service, the food, the ambiance were all top notch. My fiancee and I had the tasting menu with the wine pairings and it was well worth the price. Next time we visit we will be trying the 'Buy the ticket, Take the Ride' option. Also, thanks to our waiter (James, I think) for arranging a table for us at nearby Gilt Bar after dinner."

"Overall we were disappointed. The tasting menu included 11 courses which is a lot. Unfortunately, none of the food was wonderful or even that flavorful. We were really surprised and had expected so much more. The portions were 1/2 the size of other tasting menus leaving us hungry, but not really wanting more of the food offered. The wine pairing was wonderful. It's puzzling that others haven't commented on the amount of wine offered vs. the amount of food offered. Even more shocking that GE would be satisfied with the amount of food offered. We won't go back and we feel slightly foolish for going in the first place."

"I have wanted to try Graham Elliot for a long time which only added to the disappointment of my dining experience.My mom came in for the weekend so I decided to take her out to a nice dinner. Our table wasn’t quite ready so we bought a bottle of wine at the bar. When we sat, we saw that the menu consisted of several different pre-fixe options. The dishes themselves have no description so you’re dependent on the server to explain to you how the dish is prepared. We ended up doing the most cost effective pre-fixe menu which was 3 courses at $80 per person. The server asked us for all 3 of our selections immediately and never returned. I tried the squash soup which was not appetizing and not explained well or I would not have chose"

"We had the Tasting Menu and to be honest it was probably the most overpriced meal I have ever had. A handful of the courses were very good but most were pretty bland and uninteresting. The portions were small even by the standards of prix fixe menus. The service was not particularly good either. The explanations of each course were rushed, mumbled and/or incomplete. They sent one course out while one of the members of our party was in the rest room. Chicago has many better restaurant options with better food and service at this price level."
