The restaurant features three distinct floors, with the first floor featuring a fun, cocktail-driven 20-seat bar. Three unusual “bump out” sections of the bar make it possible to seat a party of four, not side by side, but rather at a “conversation enabling” semi-circle. The bar area has additional table seating for 40 guests. The second-floor dining room features dramatic royal blue floor-to-ceiling curtains, exposed terra cotta blockwork, and tables of tiger-striped granite and reclaimed ancient Chinese elm. Taking advantage of its high roof line, Eventide also features a roof-level dining terrace, which boasts views of Georgetown and several monuments. The rooftop is only seating on a "first come, first served" basis and only has table seating for 2-4 guests at each table. It is open each year from approximately May 1 to October 15, depending on the weather.

"I'd heard good things about Eventide for a while, and I'm glad I finally checked it out. The food was delicious: grilled shrimp appetizer, flat-iron steak entree, and a "rhubard crisp" that was more like a cobbler. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and I liked the atmosphere."

"The food was tremendous! Starting off with melt-in-your-mouth homemade biscuits. I didn't think that I liked biscuits, but these I do! I had the char with truffle jus. "Went to this restaurant to celebrate a big event and wanted to bring my kids with me. Eventide's website says that it is kid friendly and that the children will get a chef's selection of fresh food including veggies. We chose Eventide specifically for the kids. WHen we arrived our waiter told us the kids can have pasta with butter. He agreed to add chicken. When my brussel sprout loving daughter requested some of mine I asked our waiter if they could prepare some for her. The kitchen did, which I appreciated, but we had to pay for it. I don't mind paying for it, but given that I was expecting quality food and veggies for the kids and that all they got was pasta with butter made me a little sad."

"My wife and I were in D.C. for a conference and had a free night. Eventide was everything the Open Table reviews said it would be. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the ambiance was very cool. Most of the patrons were dressed up, leaving my wife and I feeling a bit underdressed."

"My husband and I went to Eventide for our anniversary dinner. My husband, who battles agoraphobia, is sensitive to crowded places, and from the reviews I thought Eventide might be a good place to try. He loved it! The booths are spacious and the tables far enough apart that we almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was quiet and our waitress was fantastic. When I inquired about a few wines on the by-the-glass list, our waitress brought all 3, plus one she thought we might like, to our table, and gave us a private tasting. The food was incredible. We're already making plans to return to Eventide on our next child-free night out."

"The food was horrible. the service great our waiter was really nice and polite always present w/out being intrusive. I specifically requested a corner table in my reservation w/ OpenTable we were placed in the middle of the room. We 2 appetizers, 1 plate of tagliatelle, some duck. The Tagliatelle were the worst pasta I have had. The were obviously overcooked and they supposed to have a saffron creamy sauce, but I believe they forgot to put the saffron in it. The shellfish where 6 all together not enough to give flavor to the pasta. The plate was probably sitting under a lamp for quite a while. The whole thing was just a big lump. The duck was tasty but chewy, the appetizer not worth the money. The desserts not really noticeable."

"Eventide is one of Arlington's best restaurants and a pleasure to visit. A recent dinner, however, showed weaknesses in a couple of dishes. A main course duck dish was on the rare side, even though advertised as medium-rare. It was tough to cut and chew as a result. A dessert dish, "creme pot" or thereabouts, was unimpressive. A salted caramel topping was rubbery and tasteless; the mousse beneath it was bland.
The sommelier was knowledgeable and helpful, and the waitress likewise well informed and pleasant. We intend to return to Eventide for special occasions, trusting that all the dishes ordered will be to our liking"

"While the remainder of the meal was very good, the Caesar salad was horrible!! It's easy to acheive and I certainly thought an establishment of this caliber would succeed on this one. "I am so disappointed with my most recent visit to Eventide. I have dined there many times over the years and loved it! This last visit was awful. From beginning to end, things were a mess! We weren't seated until 8pm for our 7:15 reservation, no real apology was offered for the inconvenience, a new menu was being rolled out and it was mediocre, at best and the usually DELICIOUS biscuits were dry and rubbery! I'm sad to say I will NOT be going back!"

"Excellent food. Went with my visiting sister mid-week. We spent two hours enjoying the meal and catching up. Attentive, non-obtrusive staff. Loved the dining area. We only looked at wine by the glass, but what we had (3 different wines) was excellent. And again, the food was wonderful. Not an off note."

"Having previously only been in the downstairs bar, I was pleasantly surprised with the overall atmosphere and ambiance of the upstairs dining area. After taking the elevator up and immediately noticing the high ceilings and it's contemporary/elegant decor, made the meal a lot more luxurious than I could have expected. In addition to the quiet atmosphere, we were greeted with friendly faces and a very courteous staff that made for an overall terrific experience. I would highly recommend this as a great choice for anyone looking for a more intimate date setting or social gathering."

"This was not my first time being WOW-ed at Eventide. It was for 2 of my guests, they have already made future reservations. We ordered family style and we were all impressed by the fluke special and the gnocchi. But we loved everything. The wine list prices were great, we found something delish for about $35 a bottle. We skipped desert but I won't make that mistake again."

"We enjoy Eventide for scrumptious and trendy food in an intimate setting. The texture of my gnocchi appetizer was magical and balanced with the mixed greens. I had never had skate before - again...amazing. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and can describe dishes down to the size of the portions. It is nice to be able to have a conversation without having to yell across the table like some other places we have been."

"I've been to Eventide five times and the food has been consistently excellent to outstanding. The kitchen obviously has someone skilled in the butcher's department as every meat entrée has been superior (best pork chop I've ever tasted has been served here). Also, the fish dishes have all been outstanding and cooked to perfection. Small but decent wine list--I think they could do with a little more adventure on the vino side of the house. Service is attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing---waitresses know the menu and actually appear to enjoy working there. The dining room is a bit quiet, but that can be a good thing. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try."
