"Truly an amazing restaurant....the food is always great and service impeccable. The salmon is probably my favorite item on the menu....however, I just tried the mac and cheese and I think it is the best I have ever had. Chenery Park never disappoints."

"They are great at accommodating kids - we were one of three groups with little munchkins arriving for 6pm dinner. Food was tasty, except a miscooked burger - charred on the outside, rare inside. Other dishes were great - pear/cauliflower soup, housemade hopwurst, both unusual and excellent. Service was friendly and generally good, but forgot the veggie side so it showed up late, and was slow to provide mustard for the burger. So, a few mistakes, but generally a good experience, and about the best food you'll find at a place this kid-friendly."

"We went on Mardi Gras. The place was packed - filled with kids. There seemed to be a few birthday celebrations. In fact, it was reminiscent of an adult Chuck E. Cheese. It was crazy noisy; hard to keep a conversation without asking your companions to repeat themselves.

The kitchen was slammed so our orders took forever to come out. Everyone showed up at the restaurant at the same time and the kitchen couldn't keep up. The server did let us know what caused the delay, but we were starving by the time our food came out. The food was yummy, but I'm not sure if our hunger contributed to our opinions."

"The meatloaf was delicious - a generous portion - enough for dinner the next night. The steak was tasty but a little tough. Our dessert - warm chocolate cake is worth a return visit. The best feature was the ability to talk and be heard at our table. Service was great - and they make a mean Manhattan!"

"I love this place. I have been there for a romantic dinner for my wedding anniversary, and then again w/7 girls I hooked up w/via facebook and had a reunion. Yes, we were probably a little loud, but not too bad and the staff made us feel so welcomed as usual. Both occasions were perfect evenings. The Chef came and spoke w/us as did the manager. I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say and I was giving big kudos for picking this place and am sure most will be back to visit. One great thing too about this restaurant is that it is just right down the road from Bart so those traveling by train can be at Bart after dinner with only a five minute walk. A great time was had by all!"

"Chenery Park Restaurant was my very first favorite restaurant in San Francisco. I have many now but Chenery Is definitely the best restaurant in Glen Park. I have never had a bad meal there. Their menu changes with the seasons, they have daily specials, they have a kids night, and they specialize in California cuisine with a bit of creole and cajun food thrown in. I look forward to going to Chenery for certain holidays like Fat Tuesday. Awesome!
P.S. I wish they'd bring back the lamb sirloin."

"They know how to treat customers as customers ... when we both wanted the same appetizer, the waiter mentioned for a small increase in price he could adjust the portion for two people instead of paying for two full plates. He knew when to check back with us regarding more bread, more water, when to order desert, when to clear the table, when to bring the check. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, every component. There are differences in ambiance between the different floor levels, so diners might want to check out the different levels. Bravo!"

"This was our second visit, but the first time for a "special occasion." (Valentine's Day). The restaurant was quite crowded and noisy, so it wasn't quite as relaxing or romantic as our last visit. Perhaps they had added a few extra tables for the night?

But other than that, we had no complaints. The staff was quite courteous and the service was fast and friendly. And just like before, the food was unpretentious - yet delicious. Even the potatoes (scalloped) seemed special. We'll be back."

"Much better than I remembered it from an earlier visit, when it was then quite good but pricey. Prices seem to have moderated. The menu has a nice range as does the wine list by the glass. Service was cordial and professional. The four of us left happy."

"The staff at Chenery Park was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. Service was a little slow, but it was a Friday night and they were very crowded, so it's understandable. THere were five us there for my husband's birthday, and we all enjoyed our meals. They brought my husband a free dessert with a candle, which was a nice touch."

"Because my dinner guest and I always split our orders without stinting on gratuities, we were disappointed that the restaurant charged us two dollars to divide the main dish and one additional dollar to split the entree. For a family restaurant with many small people and smaller portions, this practice feels wrong. For me the meal was not amazingly good for the cost of the evening and I will not soon go there again."

"I have been going to Chenery Park for several years and continue to enjoy dining there. But I think the menu and quality of food is not up to what it was a couple of years ago. "Fronter door is always so nice and welcoming. Service was extremely slow in the beginning...took 15 mins from being seated to ordering a drink. Picked up after that. Food consistently good."

"This was our first time at Chenery Park We live in the neighborhood very close by and had never noticed this resturant. We have used Open table before and found out about Chenery Park duiring a visit to the website. We were looking for a neighborhood restaurant that we felt comfotable in and that had a decent priced menu. We were not let down at all..everything was amazing the food was to die for!! I think the reson why we never saw it before was the front was a bit dark there wasnt too many lights out front so you had to know where you were going to find it and they only serve dinner starting at 5pm. but it was worth it! we had a reservation at 630pm but they promptly sat us at 6pm.We will for sure come back very soon!"

"The delicious, tender mushroom gnocchi we shared as an appetizer set the bar pretty high but it was followed by a rich and flavorful updated version of coq au vin. Pork and lamb dishes were also amazing. We were very happy with outstanding food and at good value. The service was lovely, the ambience is cosy. The only negative for me was the off-putting odor from the carpet that I noticed immediately and that stayed with me. I will definitely come back, nonetheless ........ hopefully the carpet won't be an issue."

"The food was ok, not amazing, but fine (though my fish was a bit too salty) and portions were decent sized. However, the service was rather uneven. At the beginning, it was really rushed--we had our meals within 15 minutes of sitting down. Maybe some would say this is a positive aspect, but it felt to me that they were rushing us. After we finished our dessert, we were then completely ignored, the opposite of the rushed/ attentive service earlier. It felt as if perhaps our server had to leave at a certain time, maybe? So, in all, the service was a bit spotty."

"Hey, I know Tuesday is kids nite, but if kids should be able to meet a certain level of behavior before being allowed out of the house. We had our 11 year old daughter with us and the people at the next table were letting kids wander and "socialize". The parents barely kept an eye on the kids and we didn't even know there was a second one until we'd been seated and visited by the 7 year old for 10 minutes. Of course this was ok with the parents as they were wrapped up in conversation with their childless friends. Really didn't appreciate their children's hands touching our utensils or their parents attitude that since we were not eating at the time it was perfectly fine that their kids plant themselves firmly in our faces & conversation"

"we always have a good time and great food at chenery park. the service was a bit slow but there was only one server for the upstairs. we were not in a hurry so we didnt mind. the brisket was melt in your mouth amazing. Laura the hostess is amazing and keeps the atmosphere great for every person that walks in the door. we'll be back for sure!"

"Our friend is one of the owners of this restaurant, so we've gone time & time again with excellent meals every time. They go the extra mile making their own sausage, aging their own meats, and serving unusual dishes you don't find at other restaurants. The portions are the perfect size. The ambience is elegant, yet relaxing & a nice neighborhood setting. Great place to bring family, parents, etc. and they have kids night, too."

"Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, even "The Grinch" dressed up for the occasion (Dec 22). Very good service--attentive but not intrusive. Not excessively noisy. And excellent food--fried and roast chicken, salmon, and catfish were our entrees, with mussels and salad at the beginning and chocolate cake after. Thanks! We've been before and will go again (it's perfect after picking up tired and hungry friends at the airport)."

"We had the Thanksgiving Dinner and were stuck in a dark small corner. Server was horrible - inattentive, bumped into us at table several times and did not acknowledge. Food was very good, though two of three wines we wanted were sold out. Crowd in the restaurant was nice, other than our table the space was nice. Great neighborhood."

"The experience here at Chenery Park was great from the begining. The hostess was very nice and definently made every guest feel welcome from the very first moment you walked through the door.

The food was good. The fried chicken was moist and the batter was not overly thick. The mashed potatoes were good but the greens were a little strange to me... i wasnt expecting the kind of flavor that i ended up tasting, but there was no description as to what i was supposed to expect since it read "fried chicken with fixins" on the menu.

next time, i will order the root beer float in the beginning.. this iten isnt listed on the regular menu. i did not find out about it until i recieved the dessert menu."
