"My husband and I eat here frequently. The food is always good and this time was no exception; however, they appeared to be understaffed because our waitress did not check on us as often as usual. Also, my water glass and utensils were not clean and had to be replaced. When dessert was served, the spoon I was provided was not clean. I asked for a replacement and was given a fork because they were out of clean spoons! This night was not typical of the service we normally experience at this restaurant, but it was the middle of the week and very crowded. Perhaps they had not planned enough staff for the number of patrons they ended up having."

"We didn't plan to have dinner at Left Bank. But the restaurant we had reservations at had run out of food shortly after sitting down to our 7 PM reservation. Fortunately, The Left Bank could seat 5 of us immediately, which is remarkable considering it was Mother's day!
The service was great, even though the restaurant was packed. The food was great too, I had the Beef Stew, which had great fresh peas to top it off! The only complaint I heard at the table was that a hamburger was over cooked, but, I'd claim that is the risk you take when you order it medium-well. Drinks were also nice, though the "infused bourbon" drink I had didn't mention what it was infused with. Turns out it is habanero, which was a bit of a surprise :)"

"I've eaten at Left Bank many times, and always enjoy it. I was very pleased to see that on Mother's Day they were giving all of the moms a little box of chocolates. It was wrapped in a nice little bow, and was just a classy touch. My mom enjoyed her brunch very much.

"It was okay, but I was a little dissapointed. I asked for a table outsite and first they tried to sit us in the sun on a hot day. We had to ask for another table which they reluctantly gave to us. Then I ordered the wrong thing. The crepes were so small, that I had to order a salad, my total bill for a small salad and two small crepes was over $20.00. Sometimes, I really like this restaurant, but it seemed rushed and stressed on Mother's day. In the past their chicken was really good and that will be what I order in the future. I will go back though. But, just make wiser decisions."

"I have been to The Left Bank a few times for brunch and for dinner and it never disappoints. I love that it's located on Santana Row, so there are people about, great shopping, and a buzz in the air. The food is great and so are the Bloody Mary's. I would reccommend this restaurant to anyone but don't go if your watching your calories."

"Our drink order was served almost 25 minutes after it was taken! The appetizers took another 40 mins after drinks were served both orders were taken at the same time. It was a birthday celebration, they brought the birthday guy a desert with a candle in it which we did not order, very nice accept they charged us for it!"

"It's easy to forget that Left Bank is in a neighborhood that has homes. Lucky residents. Though the quality of service has ebbed and flowed through the years it's stabilized as a friendly spot with attentive service. The food has been consistently flavorful, served while it is hot. The daily specials bring excitement to a menu that would otherwise get boring. The star of tonight's specials was the apple cake with crispy bacon and sea salt caramel, well worth the $8 price tag. It put an exclamation point on a simple dinner of our favorite items -- cheese fondue, tossed green salad, and pommes frites."

"We have been hooked on the brunch menu from Left Bank. I bench mark test them based on the Eggs Benedict (eggs cooked perfectly, hollandaise was delicious) and the salmon (cooked medium rare like I asked). They pass the test will flying colors and I have been back almost every other Sunday.

"We had dinner outside in the front, and had an amazing experience. The food, wine and service was excellent. Enjoyed the pork belly appetizer and for our entrees, the duck and risotto respectively. {This is the best restaurant in town for duck!} With our dinner we had a bottle of the 2008 Petit Manou which is a good value at $50. And finally for dessert we had the profiteroles complete with chocolate sauce. Definitely our go-to restaurant for not only spontaneous lunches or dinners, but also special occasions."

"Early in the day, they accepted my "Open Table" reservation for 10, a last minute get-together for parents of now-college students who graduated from high school together last year. Over the course of the afternoon, the number rose to 22, and the folks at Left Bank were wonderful, understanding and accommodating. They moved us to the empty private banquet room, quiet and inviting for all who hadn't seen each other since last year. Service was top-shelf, gracious and complete. Food, as usual, was excellent. A memorable experience!"

"Continuing to be let down by the hostess "experience", we return again for the food. At any other restaurant, it's not a problem when we have a reservation for 12:30pm and we aren't seated until 12:40. Things get busy, it's understood. But, at Left Bank, where the hostesses look at you with haughty disdain when you arrive even 3 minutes late or you forget to ask for an outside table in your OpenTable request, I'm going to expect that when we arrive on-time, they better seat us on-time. This is especially the case when they make you wait for a side table to be cleared and prepared, all the while there remain a dozen tables in the sun that are ready. Good food and wait staff, Ridiculous AWFUL hostess service."

"The food and service were very good but I would not recommend this restaurant to my over 60 friends. It is much too noisy. We could barely hear each over over the music. "Sure it's a chain, but the French bistro food was very respectable. We had delicious pate, a basque seafood stew and mussels with frites (ordered a la carte). The food was fresh and well seasoned. Our waitress was excellent - helpful but not obnoxious. We'd definitely go back. Just want to see them add a French 75 to the menu."

"We generally have a good experience at Left Bank, and this time was slightly better. Server was excellent. Food very good. Nice recent changes to the wine list and menu. If we're shopping at Santana Row on a Sunday, Left Bank is our go-to for brunch. One of the best choices in Santana Row."

"The food was, as usual for this "chain," mediocre at best. I have eaten at three of their locations. They have a few standouts, but not enough. Service was attentive, but rushed. Located in busy Santana Row, you should get a reservation (which we had). We won't bother going back."

"It was very busy on Easter brunch. Service moved slowly as they were so busy. The doors were open, and we had not worn jackets, and it was on the cool side, so we hurried thru our meal. Although the food was tasty, my eggs came out way overcooked. This may all just be due to the holiday and how busy it was."

"Good food: Ham crepes and eggs benedict; so-so: veggie risotto. We also enjoyed the three-cheese fondue which was excellent, but could have been better if served with a veggie or a few pieces of fruit.
Service was friendly and professional, even during this extremely busy time.
We sat outside on Easter morning. The people and dog watching along Santana Row was most entertaining."

"We were celebrating a Birthday and it was an ideal place. I was the only one who had been here before and the newbies really enjoyed the restaurant. Our server was excellent. She paid attention to details and was courteous and friendly. I'm sorry I did not make a note of her name. In the past, I and other friends, have found staff at Left Bank to be very pretentious which is a total put off."
