"We had a 7:00 reservation and sat down at 8:00, waited for half hour for app and another half hour for entree. Menu very limited, inexperienced wait staff and managment so layed back it was insulting..the only thing saves this place is the buildings charm.."

"We dined on Friday evening and really loved the ambiance. There was a small guitar duet playing jazz that lightly filled the room with beautiful music. The rooms are charming with great artwork to look at while enjoying a lovely meal. There were nice choices and the fish bouilbasse was great. Light and very flavorful."

"The food was interesting and although not perfectly prepared we thought it was a solid value for the money and would come back to give the menu another try. However, the service was very slow, multiple tables has serious mix up with checks rung out incorrectly. Requests for bread, a second drink, the dessert menu and even the check we generally mishandled."

"If you have no food restrictions and like Louisiana fare, this is the place for you. Every entree we have ever had here has been delicious - memorable. Their entrees tend to be way better than any of their appetizers or tapas, which are average. The menu is ever changing, being seasonal. Sometimes they serve a vegetable terrine that is so yummy, I salivate from the thought of it. This item, disappointingly was not on the menu and I was not interested in a Mushroom Ragout. The setting is quite romantic and it is one of our favorite places to go - even though my hubby and I do not eat pork or shellfish! If we did, how much more we would frequent the Mouzon House!"

"Restaurant is in an old house with New Orleans style art and decor. Food was spiced hot but not burning. Lots of flavor. Food is fresh and they feature local supply. We went early on a Tuesday so it was empty and quiet. It was a bit cold but the spicy food made that go away quickly! The Bananas Foster dessert was superb."

"The food was fine - but nothing outstanding. They seemed to be out of a lot of things the night that we went. Having our own room for dining was amazing! Their beer list could be more extensive. Would definitely go back with a group again just to have our own room."

"First time at Mouzon House and will certainly return. The menu is inventive and offers dishes that are unique. The meal was delicious and presented well. Decent wine prices too. we took advantage of the restaurant week menu and again was very flavorful. Desserts were just so-so, but that was probably due to restaurant week i hope. Will also definitely try their Caroline street location"

"The restaurant is a gem. The food was great, the staff was attentive without being overbearing and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mouzon House. I cannot wait to go back. It was restaurant week but they also had their normal menu and a prix fixe menu. All the choices were fantastic no matter what menu you went with."

"The Mouzon House is a great place for date night. The dim lighting and quaint dining room is perfect with the live music that was there on Friday night. The server was pleasant and knew the menu and made great recommendations. The menu does not have a significant amount of choices, but we both found something we wanted to try and enjoyed our meals. We had a great night at The Mouzon House and will recommend to friends."

"A group of five of us had a lovely time at Mouzon House. We love the ambiance, interesting paintings, etc. Service was quite prompt without being intrusive.
Food was mixed. Two people shared a perfect salad and a huge steak, cooked medium rare to perfection. Another had creme brulee and pronounced it almost perfect. A delicious, mixed field greens salad for the fourth. However, I had the lobster bisque, which was too spicy and fought with the lobster flavor. I followed that with the Creole shrimp over rice, which was also a bit too hot (spicey) and needed more other flavors. It tasted too much like red pepper with tomato sauce. In past years, I had a delicious, spicey crawfish dish at Mouzon, which I thought was better prepared."

"The Negroni I had was watery, even after I sent it back for a new one. The food was OK, but not spectacular. The cassoulet wasn't. It was some stewed beans with an overdone quail, and 2 overdone lamb chops laid on top. I wasn't even asked how done I'd like the lamb. My son had what was billed as a braciloe over pasta with a lamb Bolognese that he described "A meatball and spaghetti" The lamb bolognese was tomato sauce with a few lamb bits. My wife's osso bucco was OK.

"My husband and I were looking for a beautiful and romantic yet cozy to celebrate my birthday. and we wanted to visit a new place. our choice was perfect, Mouzon house was the right choice. the hostess was gracious and accommodate our early arrival and then upon my request moved us to a cozier spot in the dinning room. I had the mushroom pasta dish (can not remember the exact name)-I loved it. I gave Ambiance and Noise a lower grade only because the folks sitting at the nearby table were awfully loud and did not seem to care much about how that affected others in the room (note that the first floor main dinning room is a relatively small room with 4 tables in it). once they were gone the rest of the experience was great."
