Tucked in a corner of a brick warehouse in the heart of Dogpatch, Serpentine features an ever changing menu shaped by local farms and ranches. Soaring ceilings are warmed by cozy booths and tasty twists on classic cocktails. Glimpses of Serpentine's sister restaurant, Slow Club, shine through in the fresh lunch and dinner menus, the intimate bar and the candlelit room.
"My partner and I took my mother to Serpentine for Mother's Day. The brunch menu was a real treat and the unique plates such as Polenta and rabbit was pretty tasty. I had the brisket and crispy potatoes while my Mom had the fresh crab cakes. The bloody Mary was good and fresh (not some mix). Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely take friends from out of town. I've been there numerous times prior to Mother's day. It remains as one of my neighborhood favorites and right across the street from Mr. and Mrs. Miscelleaous makes being in the area even better. Easy to find parking and great interior!"

"Reservation honored right away. Menu offers very carefully thought out variety of choices. Loved my red flannel hash with two perfect poached eggs. My friends crab eggs Benedict good too, nice crisp and creamy home fries. Excellent Bloody Mary. Friend could chose a grapefruit or regular mimosa. Will go back to try other choices. Oh, price a bargin at $25 with drinks. In old industrial area the minimally modified warehouse was beautiful and relaxing."

"We had a reservation at 8:45 and didn't get sat until after 9:30. We were offered a glass of champagne for the inconvenience of having to wait for so long which was nice, but the wait really put a damper on the experience. The food, once we were able to eat, was really good though."

"Wonderful restaurant for lunch. My friend and I shared the chopped salad and the fried chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Next time I would like to try brunch."

"Great brunch food. Straightforward menu with vegetarian options. Also, nice cocktails and fresh fruit drinks. Cool industrial interior with high ceilings and modern light fixtures. Pretty orchids and color furniture brought life to otherwise neutral walls. Only gripe: Small waiting area and we had to wait 20 min past our reservation time to get our table because the party before us was taking awhile."

"Amazing cocktails and appetizers! Entrees were great, but I would definitely come back for drinks and starters.. all of them! We only had two the appetizers (carrot salad and scallops) and they were amazing but all the rest sounded great and looked amazing on other tables."

"First, the cocktails are great. Inventive, seasonal, and totally worth it. I don't really remember the rest of my meal, with the exception of the brussel sprouts -- they were wonderful. I do remember the restaurant being so loud that it was difficult for a table of four to hear unless you were really paying attention. Maybe tone down the thumping music during the height of the dinner hour until there are fewer people gabbing? I'd come back for the bar, and I'd bring a throat lozenge to soothe my sore voice the next day."

"I'm simply not a fan. Serpentine states it offers upscale-ish American brunch fare, but the portions were small, the menu is pretty standard (Plow in Potrero Hill is much better), the the prices are simply too high for this quality/amount of food. There is nothing that would distinguish it from the millions of carbon copies at other brunch places. And the service is subpar at best. Good luck flagging down a server for water."

"Serpentine is a true gem in the Dogpatch and a great place to unwind with good company on a Friday or Saturday night. I've been a regular customer for over 3 years and their food and service is consistently excellent. They also mix some of the best cocktails in SF. They have great summer salads and always have a fish entree that's on point; Acadian and Whiskey Smash are two of my favorite cocktails.
I also recently discovered that they have a great brunch menu. I'd consider their eggs benedict my favorite in the city."

"The food was just okay and that doesn't cut it in San Francisco if you want me to return amongst the myriad of great restaurants. My burger was not moist nor particularly well seasoned (not to mention it had to be sent back so the kitchen can put the homemade pickles and grilled onions that were highlighted on the menu but missing). The bun wasn't toasted but room temperature which I think is a such a missed opportunity to make a burger better. While service was nice, there was just one too many mistakes including my coffee that ordered first coming after my dish was served because I had to ask for it again and not being able to get the attention or eye contact of anyone for awhile so I just gave up on the idea of ordering something else."

"I love this place. I usually come for brunch. This was my second time for dinner. We got a cocktail, the Dog Patch Tea, that wasn't to my lady's liking so she passed it off to me. The waitress noticed and said she was happy to replace it if I didn't really want to drink it. It was very nice initiative on her part, and she appreciated the feedback. We got something else instead. The dinner was outstanding, cocktails, great, overall, and the service was awesome!
Cheers,"

"We get there 5 minutes before our reservation with a line of about 4 parties in front of us, waiting patiently to put their names in. As we wait, the line moves quickly so we don't cut ahead...then, we hear the party of two in front of us mention they don't have a reservation and we see them get seated immediately. We're up next! The hostess comes back and tells us it will be a couple minutes since our table is finishing up...25 minutes later we are seated!!! Seriously? Why not double check if people in line had reservations before you seat people (10 seconds before us) without one! What is the point of a reservation if they don't reserve you the empty tables??? Avoid the 11-12 Sunday brunch rush - tables clear out pretty quickly afterwards"

"I had been looking at this place for awhile and once I went, I wondered what took me so long! The mood of the restaurant was quiet sophistication, the waitstaff (at the bar and our server) were so incredibly nice, and the food was fantastic. The chicken was probably the best roasted chicken I have ever had in my life! Whether out with friends or on a date, go here - you won't be disappointed."

"Great brunch spot!! Would highly recommend if out in the DogPatch area. Host was a little moody and not very welcoming - maybe because there were so many people. Book in advance on the weekends (especially if sunny) - and try the GREAT food."
