"We went for Mother's Day brunch. Food was ok. There was not a lot of service given it was a brunch but there was 18% gratuity added for just a party of 3. I felt our server didn't even try to help us given he knew he was guaranteed a good tip anyway."

"We went there for Mother's Day Brunch. LOVED IT! The food was ok....the carving station only had Kalua pig and beef brisket....that would've been ok except alot of people don't eat pork or beef. Was expecting at least turkey or maybe even prime rib would've been nice. Other than that the service was excellent and the entertainment was da bomb. It was so good we are going back for Father's Day Brunch!!!"

"One of the last of several authentic Tiki bar and restaurants within the LA area. Kitchy, with those great old school Tiki inspired drinks and PU PU's, it's definitely like going back in a time machine for me when growing up, places like this were in abundance. Keep up the good work."

"The food was excellent although, I won't order crab legs again, they are just too hard to open and messy, they were great tasting, I would order them, if they could bring them to the table out of the shell. The service was excellent! Our waiter, Tyler was spot on! So friendly. Once we finished our meal, we explored the place (a lot to look at) and found ourselves in one of the bars where the group Flyers were playing. It was a pleasant surprise to see them there, we used to go to Busters where they played for years and wondered where they went. It was a great evening, definitely will go back!"

"The crab dinner had an amazing amount of Alaskan King Crab legs - well worth the money. The Fish and Chips were really wonderful. Mostly fish and little batter."

"We asked, on open table, for a quiet spot...music and singer was WAY too loud to have a conversation. We were 2 couples...and asked for separate checks...at the end of our meal our checks showed 3 dinners on one check..missing a starter, 1 dinner and the extra starter on the other check. Rib-eye steak dinner was cold and tough. We DID NOT alert the servers to any of this, and they were VERY attentive...but because we saw different servers for each course, it was too confusing to bother. Open table needs another option on your NOISE rating 'TOO NOISY'. Obviously, we won't be back....and we live around the corner. Our first and last at Don the Beachcomber."

"Don the Beachcomber reminded me of my days living in Hawaii. The ambiance is reminiscent of the last few authentic tiki bars of yesteryear. I ordered Huli Huli chicken didn't miss a beat that was pretty tasty. We also ordered ahi tacos amazing! The ambiance and decoration is truly unique. Go with good company, be adventurous with the food, and travel to the days of Hawaiis colorful past. Much like Damon's in Glendale or La Mariana Sailing Club in Honolulu."

"We felt rushed. Our table was bussed as soon as we put the last morsel of food in our mouth. There were 3 of us and as soon as the first person was done ... woosh! They place was cleared. Then the second person, then the third. WAY too fast! And it took the waitress a few tries to get our order right. First she forgot a glass of wine, then she brought the wrong wine. And she and forgot the appetizer. Once we got our entrée, it was really good. The salmon and the chicken were awesome!
I would recommend this place for a hurried lunch. It is not the scene for a relaxing dinner."

"Took my hubby on his bday, and we had a great time! our server Mia was super sweet and knowledgeable. Food was good, tasty and nicely plated. there a good selections of appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks, which makes it a bit hard to choose. At the end, Mia surprised my husband with a yummy mini pineapple upside down cake and we also ordered the homemade bread pudding which was delicious. Cute hawaiian atmosphere although we were the only ones in the dining room on a Tues night. Will recommend!"

"We went to the Easter Brunch, a party of 6 for 10:30The food was cold and the selection of breakfast items was not adequate; the man at the omelet bar was not prepared to make omelets; it was not his fault, the management should have been aware of the situation"

"Easter brunch was a huge disappointment. Was advertised there would be a carving station. Not. Instead there was a pan of already sliced tri tip. There was an omlet station that consisted of 1 pan."

"The scenic view is of the Hawaiian entertainment - always excellent. For the brunch I would make a request to sit in the room with the entertainment. We have once been able to do that and it was much better to see the dancers. The advantage of the other room is you are near the food. There is a stage in that room also and had there been entertainment there (they had a shave ice bar set up), it would have been perfect. The food is great. There is something for everyone in the buffet. I would say the dessert is the most lacking. Very little to choose from. But the ambience, the basic food, the entertainment and the great service is worth it all."

"We were so disappointed. We have been here for dinner and it was great. The Easter Brunch was awful. The food was not ready when diners started arriving. Consequently, you had between 50 and 75 people standing in line when the food was finally ready to be served. The food was really bad. Some chafing dishes had nothing in them. Upon our arrival, we sat and sat and sat. No one offered us champagne. Since the food was not ready, at least we could have had champagne. Finally, I stopped a server and asked if we could get champagne. She stated that was not her table but she would be more that happy to help our server. Get this, an 18% gratutity was added to our check. For what? I had to get my own food and ask for champagne."

"This was my first brunch at Don the Beachcomber but I have visited the restaurant regularly. The seating was too tight, the food was less than mediocre and the worst part was the rude valet guy jumping right in front of our car while on his cell phone trying to make us stop. There was no prior notice from Don's that there would be a $5 valet charge so we were not expecting this. I would not go to Don's for another brunch in the future. Bummer, because I like the restaurant and the service there."
