"Menu was too limited for the four of us in our party. Also, after having visited three other noteworthy restaurants in the French Quarter earlier in the week, the offerings here weren't as varied, nor were the portions as plentiful, even though the prices were a bit more than comparable. However, the service was phenomenal, the ambiance wonderful, and the meal was as leisurley as one might desire. Overall it was a very nice experience, but I will look elsewhere next time I visit New Orleans, primarily because we felt too limited in the options available."

"Our dinner at the Grill Room was magnificent. It was highly recommended to us and that usually means being disappointed due to high expectations, but all our expectations were met and exceeded.
Due to the large amount of paintings,sculptures and antiques, the hotel is rated as a museum, as was told to us by the hostess. The food was stupendous and the portions ample. The service and attention were first class. The band and Blues singer were also a very nice touch.
We will definitely return to the Grill Room on our next visit to New Orleans."

"My wife and I celebrated our 27th anniversary on Jan. 30th at the Grill Room. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Champagne, compliments of the Front office manager, offered due to a mix up in my pre-ordered flowers and wine for our hotel suite. The entire hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and cordial with every contact, without exception. Our dinner unfortunately did not have the same pampered feel. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake starter as well as the Truffled Risotto were outstanding but the Duck, a new menu addition, was served only slightly warm and was less than memorable. The restaurant was very elegant and romantic but the service seemed an afterthought. Overall, the Grill Room did not live up to its reputation however we will return."

"We ate a set menu for New Year's. The ambiance in the evening is perfectly beautiful and tables are far enough from each other for private conversation. The food was good, with some unusual items. Service was superior. However, it was a bit pricey with items not on the set menu such as water, drinks, etc."

"The food here wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good. The restaurant is beautiful. The food on the other hand isn't very good. The portions were not generous. In a city that is known for fablous food and generous portions this just wasn't so here. I would be ok with not so generous portions if the food was wonderful, but it wasn't. Add the extremely expense prices and it just left a bad taste....."

"We have eaten in world-class restaurants, both in the United States and abroad, and I would say that we are fairly sophisticated in regard to to fine dining. We were so impressed by Christmas dinner at the Windsor Court Hotel that, before leaving the "Grill Room", we asked for a reservation for NEXT Chrismas. We even requested the same table. As usual, the food and the service was outstanding. I'm from New Orleans and have eaten at the Windsor Court several times, yet I still like to walk all around the inside of the hotel to admire the beautiful furniture and lovely works of art."

"Overall experience- 4.25 stars. The only detraction was that the entrees we ordered were okay, but nothing special. Every other course was FABULOUS! The butternut squash soup, the complimentary lump crab salad, & the salad with poached pears, spiced pecans & sherry vinaigrette dressing were all spectacular, as were the chocolate truffle trio and the bananas foster bread pudding. The bread basket was filled with various selections, each of which was exceptional. Our entrees of grilled filet of angus beef and sauteed local snapper were good, but not nearly as tasty or well prepared as we expected based on the previous courses. Servers were helpful and attentive without being intrusive, impeccable."

"Some friends and I traveled from Houston, Tx to New Orleans for the Thanksgiving Holidays and we were refereed here for our dinner. What a surprise. Elegant, refined, cozy, just delightful place. Food was out of this world. Mind you, I grew up in New Orleans so I know what fine dinning is all about. Service was first class, our table was perfect, everything couldn't have been better. Will I go back? You Bet! Will I recommend The Grill Room to others? Yes."

"My wife and I ate dinner that was packaged with our room at the Windsor Court. The food was excellent and so was the service. We would most definitely come back. The only minor negative was that we were seated a bit too close to the piano and soft conversation was difficult due to the loudness of the piano. Otherwise, a near perfect meal."
