"Excellent dining experience, if you enjoy fine dining this is the place. We had the singular menu, some of my favorite dishes: otoro tuna with osetra caviar, lobster, wagyu beef with truffle and foie-gros sauce. The wine pairing was incredible, Chantelle the sommelier had a deep understanding about wines, all, I mean all the wines had a perfect match with each course. Pricey? Of course, but you are eating the best and fresh ingredients."

"The food was very unique and done with a creative flair, however it fell short in the overall experience that a restaurant at this price point should provide. Food service was good, but should have been excellent. Wine pairing was good, but wine service was only "O.K." And both should have been excellent when you are dining with their signature tasting selection and wine pairing. Maybe these things will improve over time as they settle into a role as a premier Chicago restaurant."

"My husband and I got the 10 course tasting with the wine pairings. The service was absolutely wonderful! The food was good, but VERY salty...and I like salt. We had very luxury items: foie gras, lobster, caviar, and truffles. Can't complain too much there...but I've had WAY better foie gras, the lobster was over cooked, and the truffles were over salted. However, the fish was very fresh, dessert was wonderful, and the dishes were somewhat creative. The wine pairings were good, but way too much. I couldn't keep up and wouldn't do it again. For $1,100 for two people I don't feel the food was worth it, but the service was impeccable. If I returned, I would order off the menu, do the 4 courses without wine, or go to Alinea."

"Second visit to L2O and I was even more impressed than the first time. Clearly in the same league as Alinea, Tru, Trotter's, Etc. Outstanding service, incredible food, friendly staff...just awesome.
In addition, they planned very well for my pregnant, pescetarian wife, and were incredibly thoughtful in noting which dishes might contain things she wouldn't want.
All in all, an amazing dining experience."

"The food was wonderful. Really delicious. We had the seasonal tasting menu and it was exceptional. The desserts were the least impressive aspects, but in part that's because there were too many and the portions were a bit much for that point in the meal. The wine pairings were fine, but the serving of them was rather poor: small tastings, no helpful explanations, and the sommelier never stopped by.
They did forget to bring a course, which is somewhat unforgivable. And as mentioned the wine pairing (while tasty) was not on par with the competitors.
But at its core, L2O did deliver the best seafood meal I've ever had. Too bad the wine, dessert, and service didn't match it."
