"You cannot beat the view from The Peaks Restaurant. However the food was so average that I am pretty sure if I ever go again to the top of the tram it would not be to dine. Four of us ate, salmon was dry, steak was average, avacado BLT was very short on avacado, hamburger was dry, fries so-so. That is a lot of money in dining plus the cost of the tram ride...but the view, amazing. Wish the food could of lived up to the view."

"Tram ride was awesome and the view at top was amazing. I just wish Peaks was a little more secluded from everything else. From the pictures online it seemed that you were dining on the very edge of the cliff but in reality you are dining with the view of people walking outside while they enjoy a cliff side view. Menu was very limited. My girlfriend is pregnant and very picky so there wasn't much of a selection for her. The service was great. Our waiter was on top of everthing and very helpful about menu questions. It was a fun experience. I'm definitely going back to try out some hiking trails."

"From looking at the pictures on their website, you would have thought you would be dining on fine food while admiring the amazing view. Nothing like that. The food was tasty but nothing spectacular. The ambience was awful. We requested a table by a window and got that - but the window faced a courtyard full of people sitting on tables eating their picnic lunches. Only a few tables had half a decent view. The decor is outdated. This is also not romantic - thank goodness we were just having lunch with family. I would have been awful to get all the way up there for a romantic, special occasion dinner and encounter that. You are better off bringing your own food and grabbing a table - better view. Or just eat at the cafe."

"Our meat at The Peaks Restaurant was a very enjoyable experience. My family and I ate here on a Saturday afternoon at noon. It was recommend to make a reservation, and I am thankful I did because we would have had to wait for a table because of the high demand. At first the food prices seemed a little steep, but upon arrival, the food was absolutely delicious! With the effort it takes to get the food up to 8500 feet it makes complete since why the prices are the way they are!! My uncle is handicapped and the accommodations at the restaurant were great. We were able to be comfortably sat a a table with no worry of his wheelchair being in the way of servers or guests. Good food, great atmosphere!"

"Our server (young woman; don't recall her name) was delightful and attentive. Lovely views from top of the tram. Casual atmosphere, very tasty food and good variety on menu. The salad with grilled salmon was very good; the burger with avocado, bleu cheese and bacon was to die for, as were the seasoned potato wedges. Very reasonable, too."

"Great food and outstanding service, can't beat the few, but, restaurant needs renovating, it is like a cafeteria but expensive proces. Also, they should have some kind of deal on the tram ticket to get up to the restaurant when you are eating there - if you are in a group of 8 people you are paying almost $200 just to get up to the resaurant!"

"The man behind the bar on the same level as the restaurant was very very rude. So rude I canceled my drink and walked away. It was not very busy at the bar tender flat out ignored us and clearly helped very one else that walked up.

"Peaks is an amazing place to dine. The employees were very professional and right on point. The food was prepared very well and had robust flavor. It's presentation made it all the more appetizing.
The view of the skyline is spectacular! The view can be seen from any seat in the restaurant because one whole side of the restaurant is windows.
I recommend that you get there a little earlier than your reservation. The tram line is the only way to restaurant and it runs every 20 minutes and the ride to the top is about 10 minutes. There is an additional charge to take the tram so be sure to budget for it."

"The overall experience is the Tram Ride. I expect most people who go to visit go because of the opportunity and Tram experience not for a specific restaurant visit. When considering this it would appear that may be there isn't a lot of effort that has to go to the presentation or price consideration since most guest might only be coming once. The price points were high for the quality of food and the presentations were not good. There is a good deal more of criticism that I could offer but I fear that most of the guest who visit the restaurant are going to go just as I did even after seeing the reviews---it's all about the Tram ride."

"I'm by no means a food expert. But I do like eating food. And the food here was good. Pricey, absolutely.but very good. We had the pork chops and the macadamia nut crusted salmon, and ate every last bite. The desserts are very reasonably priced, and generously portioned. I highly recommend the bread pudding. Can't beat the view, and just by putting a short note politely asking for a table with a great view in our online reservation, we got the best in the house. Expensive dinner, but worth it for the experience. It made for one great date night!
On a side note regarding customer service, I left my iPhome sitting on our table when we left, and the manager chased me down to the lower level to get it back to me. Very impressed!"

"service was a little slow but not bad. our bread was just some prepackaged hawaiian kings bread which was disappointing to see for a place like that but i was so hungry i didnt mind. there was one stale piece at the bottom of our basket which was kind of gross. the flatbread pizza was great. we ordered a side of mushrooms which were pretty cold when they came out, but i didnt say anything to the server. we loved the view and there are no bad seats in the whole place because no matter where you can see the gorgeous view of the city below."

"Reminded me of a dated steak place that grandparents would have gone to. Decor is old and menu is fair, but not 5 star. Decent wine selection. Bottles of wine in the mid $30's range, then the $100 bottle. Fair selection of wines. Overall, the lure of this place is the view and not a high end restaurant. Outside of that, dont have high expectations of it being a high class place. Amazing views and if you are there late and before the last tram leaves, then you'll be pleasantly left alone to create your own romantic vibe."

"The Peaks is all about the view. Unfortunately the food menu doesn't not impress.There should be while linen table cloths and a more extensive menu. We tried the Salmon and it was very dry. The service was slow eventhough the place was pretty empty on a Wednesday evening at 5pm. Our waitress did make our nite by bring a slice of cheesecake for my birthday celebration! FYI, the Pines Cafeteria is very minimal!!! Would recommend it if you have kids, it's buffet style! Plan to spend some time hiking, it's beautiful!"

"Made reservations for a special Valentine's Day celebration. The fixed price meal was very good and the selections fitted the our wants very well. You need to be aware that the tram ride is in addition and I would suggest that it be included in the overall price."

"Spectacular view! We made reservations and arrived early, they had a table ready for us 15 minutes before our reservation time. A nice place to unwind after a busy day in the snow. The food was great and the raspberry cheesecake was awesome! I would only suggest a better kids menu with some of their favorites like cheeseburger, chicken fingers etc. Service was ok, our server seemed confused but was consistent. Overall a wonderful experience."

"This is definitley a special occasion destination. To get there requires a ride on an aerial tramway that travels from 2500 ft above sea level to 8500 ft at a cost of @ $20/person, but the inside of the tram car completes two 360 degree rotations!! The view is spectacular; the food was oustanding."

"Had a reservation for 6 people from AZ. We did not get to the Peaks due to restrictions on getting on the Tram. Did not know we could not get tickets on line after 24 hours before the reservation. Traveled to the Tram to purchase tickets in person in advance, but all parking lots were full and a long line to take the bus up just to purchase the Tram tickets. Too much trouble just to be in lines and crowds!Will try again some other time."

"In case you think this place is only good for it's view (which I don't even have words for), let me say that the food is excellent, the service fine, the menu selection interesting and the overall quality is excellent. Everything you'd expect on the city level, but, hey, it's high above it all!"

"Originally my husband did not want to take our grandchildren to Peake Restaurant.
Children's menu was wonderful, I wanted our grandchildren to have the fine dining experience since they have been on a couple of cruises.
We enjoyed the scenery enormously, and our children enjoyed the food as well.
Yes, we have been in travel business since 1986. I would recommend to all our clients and family and friends."

"Horrible food. Valentine's Day 2013. Set menu. Start: Dry swiss cheese, crumbled blue cheese' chunked gargonzola, sugared walnuts dried apricots and a bowl of honey. No serving utensils, no crackers, extremely small portion for two people, odd combination overall. Salad: arugula greens, blackened garlic (terrible; garlic burnt into charcoal) "compressed watermelon," 2 chunks of crumbled recompressed feta cheese, lemon-basil vinigarette "dressing;" overall nearly inedible. Main Course: petite mingon with lobster mashed potatos, asparagus. Aparagus was peeled till white (thick bottom section of lower stalk usually not eaten) and parboiled till... crunchy. "The dining tables were a bit too close for comfort. The view was beautiful from our table, that is, if you were in the right seat.Once our server made it to our table, the service was good-very accomodating. However,initially we waited 15 minutes (went outside to see view) before our server came to our table. The food was good, but nothing was particularly noteworthy.

"The food and view were awesome like always, however our waiter (which it seems as if he was the ONLY waiter there that night) was on the snooty side. He showed us the menu then proceeded to tell us to NOT order the cornish game hen because HE didn't like bringing it out, saying it was a mess. (I did want to order that, but went with the salmon instead. Very tasty) He then became very condescending when I asked to hold on to the drink/dessert menu, saying I could 'hold on to it for my comfort'. (When I ordered my second drink I had to choose a different one because they were out of Chambord.)
The appetizer, entree, dessert and drinks were fantastic. No complaints about that. But our waiter's attitude did put a bit of a damper on the evening"

"What I had hoped would be a lovely eve for our visitors and ourselves turned out to be a huge disappointment. We had reservations for 5:15 and tho they only opened at 5, they did not seat us ,as they were waiting for menus to be turned in. Really? When we were seated, the server eventually came by and said"you're going to have to wait, everyone wants to eat at once". After a long wait, our food and drink eventually came. The medium steak was well done and the salmon overcooked. Accompaniments were not as stated in menu. Overall, a very poor dining experience. Would not return"

"The view is beautiful but the food was marginal at best. My ravioli tasted as though it had been frozen and my husband's lobster mashed potatoes were extremely chewy and flavorless. His steak had a very tasteless sauce. I would most certainly recommend the trip up the mountain. The view is spectacular and it is a very unique experience going the up in the tram. I'd save the $120 we spent on dinner and just eat in the cafeteria style cafe. It would probably have been about equal with the restaurant."

"I wish I would of read the reviews before going. I would of thought different about going. Our waiter was friendly at first. He suggested his recommendations which was the highest priced menu item, the pork chop. But bluntly said that he does not recommend the cornish game hen. That it was unappealing to the eyes and is only a half portion! First time I ever heard a waiter not recommend something. I decided on the cornish game hen and think the waiter was offended. He was very cold after that. He never came back to our table after we got our food to see how things were. We had to asked for refills on our drinks. He was rude giving us the check."

"Six of us dined at Peaks. We went at dusk because we wanted to watch the sun go down and the lights come on in the valley. We were seated at a great table and the service was friendly and efficient. Tha salmon, steaks, and pork chops are very good, and the wedge salad with blue cheese was delicious. The desserts we had were also very good. In all, Peaks surpassed all of our expectations and was a memorable event."

"The restaurant had glass windows all around and most tables had at least one chair facing out the window which was nice. The service wasn't the best I have ever had, but it also wasn't the worst. The food was good, although, we were rather surprised when the waiter brought us a basket of sweet hawaiian rolls. I love those rolls, but was expecting something made there considering the price of the food. The entrees were good though and we had a great time. If it weren't for the view I wouldn't reccomend this restaurant, but that makes up for a lot of its shortcomings."
