"My partner and I really enjoyed our dinner this week at Bacchus. The food was delicious and the servers were lovely, though it took awhile for us to get their attention. This place was surprisingly packed on a Wednesday night! I really enjoyed my mussels and my partner's gnocchi was incredible."

"We really enjoyed Bacchus. We went for an early Mother's Day dinner, and the food was outstanding. The menu was a special Mother's Day menu, and the selection included Cornish hen, steak, salmon, and mushroom ravioli. Our table tried one of each, and they all were delicious. The appetizers also were very special including an interesting pairing of tuna tartare with guacamole, which turns out to be really good, both in terms of taste and texture. Our only slight complaint was that the hostess also was the sole waitress and cashier, so she had perhaps too much to do. That said, she did it all with good humor and grace, and while the initial service was slower than optimal, it was all very polite and attentive. We will be back."

"We went for Mother's Day dinner - 4 adults and tween. First impressions - great charming decor, but no hostess in sight. It took about 7 min for hostess to appear. We were seated quickly and given Mother's day pre-fix menu but no regular menu. The food from pre-fix menu ended up being delicious, and we were able to order items from the regular menu for our son (having menu available on iPhone helped). The food came out quickly and food for my son came with our appetizers as requested. At the end great food outweighted the pre-fix only confusion. Highlights were steak, mushroom ravioli and chocolate mousse. Malbec from Argentina complimented food nicely. We are going back week later to get taste of regular menu."

"Really enjoyed this restaurant. We had a lovely table in the front of the restaurant that was very comfortable and quiet enough for conversation. Everyone loved their entrees, salads and desserts. Try the ravioli, it was incredible. Mussels and rib eye steak were excellent. Not overly expensive which is nice for a change!! Service was perfect. Will definitely go back soon!"

"My husband and I had lunch at Bacchus and it was great. It was a cold day when we were there but the garden looks like it will be great in spring and summer."

"While we would have been seated inside, the place was packed with a large, boisterous party and several small children, so the noise level led my date and myself to sit outside. That would have been perfect had there been heat lamps outside; as it was, it was just a touch uncomfortably chilly outside and too noisy inside. Our server/sommelier/hostess was extremely helpful and accommodating and the food was great (we had a difficult time deciding what to order and would like to go back and try the other dishes sometime!). The place must be really pleasant during warmer weather or quieter hours!"

"This is the small and intimate (week-nights) place I would take a special friend. The service reminds one of a friendly smiling team effort. Hard for me to think of a better way to describe that facet of the place. European attitude, helpful, lightly suggestive if asked and unobtrusive. My spouse and I were ere on a weeknight, would probably be noisy on really busy nights. Summer dining in the outdoor area would be delightful. We selected two entrees, one shared appetizer, appetites were pleasantly satisfied. Wine list was good, prices were excellent, quality of everythine oustanding! Now for the diamond! The Mussels! I have eaten them in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France and this preparation equalled any. Tues night great special."

"My friend was visiting from out of town and we went on a Sunday for brunch. The food was excellent. My friend got the Croque Monsieor and I got the chicken sandwich with avocado. Both were served with french fries and mixed greens. The mixed greens had a wonderful light dressing. The french fries were piping hot and crispy.
We opted for the unlimited Mimosa special - but next time I think I will just get a glass of wine. The Mimosas were mostly juice, and I would have preferred one or two glasses of white wine over a pitcher of mostly juice.
Will definitely go back!"

"This is the third time I have been to Bacchus with a group of friends and each time the food has been great and the service impeccable. It is now my go-to place to eat near the Barclay Center. I brought two couples there for the first time and they both agreed they would definitely dine there again."

"Went at peak time on a Saturday Night and the restaurant was full and noisy; literally could not hear the waiter describe the specials nor have a conversation with our tablemates; they need to install acoustic tiles.
While the waitstaff was gracious, keeping our wine and water glasses full, busing promptly when we were done with courses, the kitchen was terribly slow. Our 3 course meal took over two hours to serve.
Overall the food was very good and the price right. It is one of the best restaurants in its neighborhood."

"The food was mediocre French food. I had the small plates to start, the prunes with bacon was good, the steak was greasy, it was just ok. My main course was the twice cooked pork, greasy and tasteless. My boyfriends steak was good. Overall I would not recommend."

"I was very pleased by this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I am not a Brooklyn native and was charmed by the low-key atmosphere of the place. My only recommendation is to get seating that is a bit more comfortable. Otherwise I have no complaints.I would definitely recommend this place to friends."

"We went for a pre-Valentine's Day .dinner to avoid the crowds and the profiteering, and without being overtly romantic, it was perfect. Two young men who were the whole of the wait-staff and maitre-d'were charming and knowledgeable and the service was great. The food was quite fresh and tasty and the desserts were delicious. I plan to return soon."

"Good basic French bistro. Nothing special, nice neighborhood spot, wouldn't travel out of the way to go. Food was good, not great. We went on Saturday night: very crowded, loud, tables are cramped. They honored our reservation, which was very nice (kudos to Open Table for that one). $25 pre-fixe menu is a very good deal."

"First time here although a long time resident of the neighborhood. I was impressed at the variety of choices. The chef is very creative and the food delicious. Great presentation. They even have a prix fixe menu great for nubies like me. The wine list had a good cross-section of wines from all over but heavy on the French. I even tried an inexpensive bottle of Bordeux which was delightful. Very attentive staff. Arrived on a early Saturday evening at opening (best time); it was slammed as I left."

"Bacchus is a neighborhood favorite. It is warm & friendly, they have a terrific Prix Fixe menu for $25 for 3 courses with tasty selections. I had the Terrine De Foie Gras Maison Au Torchon as an appetizer, one friend had the excellent soup de jour (cauliflower) that was 'delicious' whilst the other had the Croustillant De Chêvre Et De Poire - also tasty. For main we all had the double baked pork belly - a trusted favorite. Desserts were then served - Crème Brûlée -"divine" and Fondant Au Chocolat - "delicious", and Ile Flottante puffy clouds of softly poached meringue on vanilla custard sauce - "unusual". Being a week night none of us drank alcohol, but the wine list is extensive. We were warm on a FREEZING NY night! Recommended +++"
