ROC, opened in 2000 in the heart of Tribeca, has become a neighborhood favorite. ROC offers a warm and welcoming ambiance. It remains chic with a beautiful clientele. Friendly and efficient service reminds diners of its roots in Sorrento, Italy. You will always be welcomed by Rocco, the most engaging owner in NYC. The menu features a complete and diverse menu of tempting appetizers, flavorful pasta dishes, fresh and carefully prepared fish dishes with a Sorrentino accent, and top quality meats and sausages. Its steaks compare with the top steak houses in New York City. Daily specials offer diners new and original taste combinations. Desserts feature fresh fruit, home made pastries, creamy gelato and extravagant chocolate creations.
The wine list is one of the finest and most varied in New York. It has won praise from the Wine Spectator each year since ROC opened its doors. Special selections from around the world are stocked and offered daily.
"If I ever decide to move to Tribeca it will because I can eat at Roc as often as I choose as in everyday. The food choices are fabulous and it would be hard to choose a favorite because all the choices are the best. We have never been sorry we chose Roc over the countless other restaurants in the area and will continue to do so. Thanks for another great meal. Our friends from India also loved the food and will return when they visit again."

"Roc is our restaurant of choice for Sunday dinner. . We find it perfectly serene and love the ambience. The service is impeccable.Whether you select from their regular menu or venture into their mouth watering specials your palette will not be disappointed. Food is expertly prepared, presented and beyond delicious. We have been coming for a few years now and they maintain such a high consistent quality. We travel from the UES but recognize this is home to the locals and so many families. We dine out every night but this is our favorite spot to finish out our week... It really is very special..."

"The food at Roc is very good - flavorful and full of good olive oil I dined with my family for an early dinner before going to another event in Tribeca - they have outdoor dining in their small outdoor sitting area. When I first sat down, I got the feeling that the staff wasn't too keen to service us - the other diners were just adult couples - we had our 2 kids (not little - they are 10 and 13!!). So they don't order wine!!! My instinct were correct - after the other diners left - we were the only ones left in the restaurant - the waiters no longer came around to see how we were - we helped ourselves with water, utensils. We were left alone for over 15 minutes - we had to go inside and let them know we want our checks and ready to leave."

"My job requires me to travel a great deal and take clients out to dinner all the time. So I've eaten at some of the finest restaurants around the county. With that said, this is my favorite Italian restaurant anywhere. It's like eating with family. The is cosy and the food is insanely good. Homemade pasta and their Veal Milanese is out of this world. I go back at least once a month. Wish I was in town more often. My clients rave about it as well and all ask to go back."

"I was very disappointed. I had heard good things about Roc and was looking forward to trying it. Our waiter seemed disinterested in our table. He made no attempt to make any of the specials sound appealing. We all ordered off the menu. I had the beet salad with shaved pear and goat cheese. I saw and tasted very little pear or goat cheese. The grouper was ok, not much flavor to this preparation. The other three in the party said their food was ok, not outstanding."

"This is a neighborhood favorite of ours. It was their thirteenth anniversary of opening and they have managed to keep the standards up all that time with great food, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere."

"IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK WITH YOUR TABLE MATES RESERVE NO LATER THAN SIX. LATER ON IT GETS VERY NOISY AND DARK. THE ROOM IS QUITE SMALL. THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL AND INVENTIVE. ONE IN OUR PARTY HAD THE BOAR, AND I HAD PASTA MADE WITH SQUID INK. THE MINISTRONE WAS CHOCK FULL OF VEGETABLES COOKED JUST RIGHT, AND THE DESERTS ARE SINFUL."

"The appearance is inviting from the street in the evening. The service was just ok. I think we had no consistency with the waitstaff with at least 5 different people taking orders of serving us. Our waiter came over to take our order and again to ask if we wanted coffee/dessert but didn't even bother to ask if everything was ok. The food was fine."

"Bartender was lovely, we were early for our 6:30 reservation, they did seat us early which worked well. Once seated, everything went downhill.. Appetizers were ok, Servers were not attentive, I ordered a shirt rib entree which was all fat, sent it back & got bolognese which was fine... Have to say servers basically couldn't be bothered with us."

"If you're looking for a restaurant with good food and condescending service with an attitude, this is the place for you. The wine list was great, and the menu was interesting. The food did not disappoint. Warning! Do not engage in any conversation with the wait staff if you don't want your appetite spoiled."
