MEZ is a contemporary Mexican restaurant conveniently located in the heart of the Triangle, just minutes from Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Durham and Cary on Page Road off I-40 (Exit 282). MEZ is the newest venture from the Chapel Hill Restaurant Group, the owners of 518 West, 411 West, Squid’s, and Spanky’s, all award-winning local restaurants. We feature traditional Mexican recipes with a modern, healthy twist, and use locally grown organic products whenever possible. MEZ also offers a beautiful private room that can accommodate 20 to 100 people for business lunches or dinners, rehearsal dinners, corporate training or any other occasion. Our private dining/meeting room offers a full array of audio-video equipment for your use. MEZ is North Carolina's first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designed restaurant.

"I love this place. Only my second time here but the food and service was wonderful. The corn soup is out of this world. Lots of seafood dishes from which to chose. Drink menu is extensive. A little pricey but worth it."

"Overcrowded...and we had reservations. We were six inches from our next door diners...we couldn't hear each other - but we could hear them!!!! We had a cocktail and left. The person at the host station was very nice about it and handled other, impatient customers well. We went on a Sunday so I can't imagine - for instance - a Saturday."

"We stopped in for a quick dinner. We have been here before..the margaritas were good, the braised beef special was good . We will be back to try other dishes..other diners were raving about their food and the sangria was going down easy. I"ll try the sangria next time....hope to be back soon."

Guacamole appetizers and soup. A wide range of entrees from the fish special to tacos (my favorite) all were delicious. We'll be going back again."

"Mez is one of those great finds where you can enjoy upscale tasting Mexican cuisine without spending more money than you feel you should. The menu offers some traditional favorites but also surprises with original offerings including the Mez Caesar salad with green olives and a touch of jalapeno. This is my go to lunch place with out of town visitors. I am sure it is fantastic for dinner as well and one of these days I want to hit it at happy hour time and just sit at the bar."

"Great food - definitely different than any other Mexican place I have been to. I had the spicy honey margarita which was awesome, but not all that strong. If you want a great tasting drink with not too much buzz, it's great. Then we had the queso flameado dip with chips and tortillas. Very unusual and delicious dip, not like any other queso you've had. The enchiladas de pollo were also unusual with a spicy shredded chicken and mole sauce. The highlight was the dessert - tres leches cake. WOW! that was delicious and so unusual. Cake soaked in milk with toasted almonds and meringue on top. So delicous! It was a bit loud inside which made it a little hard for a first date, but it was still a great choice and a hit with both of us."

"Not a fan of Mexican cuisine but went with the flow. I was pleasantly surprised as the menu was extensive enough that I didn't have to order a burrito. I ordered the barbacoa (Pork osso bucco) it was delicious. We had appetizer of chips with hot mango salsa and quacamole, very good. I could make a repeat appearance."

"I've been to Mez many times with work colleagues. I generally have a very good experience there, as the food is tasty, served very quickly, the staff is generally nice and helpful. However, this time we were seated in the upstairs room since it was very full downstairs, and the ambiance was not quite the same. Understandable though. Also, I'm vegan and the selection of vegetarian/vegan choices are somewhat limited, in my opinion. I'm sure that others enjoyed their meals thoroughly though."

"This was my second time at Mez. The first time we had a group of about 7 and had to wait about 40 minutes for a table at lunch. We didn't realize reservations were recommended. This time, we made reservations for party of 4 but were advised upon arrival we couldn't be seated til our 4th member was present. What's the point in booking a reservation? We'll remember that next time. Food is good, service good, atmosphere nice."

"Excellent experience. We were sat immediately after arriving (i.e., our reservation was honored on time). The server was cognizant of the meeting we were having during our lunch. She excused herself each time she came to ask if we needed anything. The one thing I was particularly impressed with was that she informed each of us that she had left the detailed breakdown of food on each of our respective bills in case we needed them for expense purposes.

"Mez probably has some of the best mexican food in area. It is modern and more authentic that your cheap mexican restaurants. It is good place for date and the mojitos are good. My only complaint is you have to pay for chips and it is a bit pricy ($15 per dish) for mexican food. However, you will get good food (similar to CA style)."

"The ambiance and feel of the restaurant are excellent, the bar is active and a great hangout. The service is prompt and helpful and even when they are busy, very attentive. I got the Plato Vegetariano, and I loved the stuffed pepper but was not crazy about the sweet potato mash. Also tried the chicken tacos and guac which were both DIVINE! But as good as the food was the star of the show was the margarita! It was the perfect blend of strong and sweet, but tasted fresh rather than like they used a margarita mix. I will absolutely be returning and can't wait to try everything on the menu!"

"Mez is on my "A" list both for work-related lunches/dinners, and for up-scale dining with my wife and friends. We've been there for multiple team lunches and dinners, and they handle a crowd well. I have also taken my wife to Mez for Valentine's Day dinner, and it was a great choice. For this meal, I met some representatives from my alma mater, and we had a really nice dinner, although it was pretty crowded and loud with group gatherings. Food was excellent as always."

"Not the best of nights at Mez. Mez continues to be unable to make good margaritas, which kills me for a Mexican restaurant. Including the bar tab, it cost $120 for three of us to share chips & guac, the very cool queso flambado, and 3 moderate entrees (tacos, burrito, enchiladas) - with the alcohol, of course. I could have eaten the same thing at one of the strip mall mexican restaurants for less than half the price, but I knew that before we went.
Of particular concern tonight was arriving early for the reservation, only to have the hostess completely forget about us as our reservation time blew by for 20 minutes until I asked how we were coming. I keep WANTING Mez to be worth the $$, but it just isn't."

"Mez has very good food, but it's often crowded and very noisy. Service seems to have trouble keeping up with diners and drinkers because of the crowds. Obviously it's good to be popular, but frankly, there's not much competition in the area. Chapel Hill Restaurant Group should continue to open restaurants in the RTP area, and I'll be they'll be very successful."
