"While we went to Elizabeth's on a weeknight when it can be slow, the wait staff made up the for the lack of diners with their welcoming, pleasant and very attentive manners. Their wine recommendations were excellent. The asparagus in a ginger-soy sauce was so good I asked for a spoon to savor every last drop of the sauce. On weekends, I am sure it is hopping and we want to return to enjoy the energy of the place then and to try more menu items"

Review 2 for Elizabeth
Overall Rating
(Good)
"Aside from the cute back room and extremely nice and accomodating hostess, the experience at Elizabeth was mediocre. The appetizers were great, however the entrees were not as good as hoped. The service left us feeling rushed and unable to fully experieince the restaurant. One could blame the poor service on it being Valentine's Day, however we had a late reservation and most of the tables around us were getting ready to leave as we were seated. That left us thinking that the waiter was rushing us just so he could leave."

"The food was pretty decent at Elizabeth. As far as the ambiance was concerned, I wish we were able to sit in the back garden area--they put us right by the front door instead. Also I'm not sure if the music playlist was ironic or not. It was some kind of 80s mix. Now I understand 80s music =/= irony, but we heard both Mister Mister and Cutting Crew so in this case I'm not so sure."

"I loved this place. It had mixed reviews but I have been dying to go. I went with a friend from college who and I hadn't seen in a couple years, so we were there for hours. Well, the staff did not mind at all! The service was great. The food was very good but not excellent; better than what I had accepted given their Zagat rating. The decor, I have to say, was the best part. It is also an awesome location. I might be biased since I walked home :). Will definitely return!"

"Elizabeth has a great atmosphere and a trendy decor. It would have been nice if there was more of a crowd however. We went on a Sunday evening and there were only two other couples in the restaurant. Great food though, and a reasonable price. The garlicy garlic fries are a must try. The back porch is very nice too-- even cool in the winter with a retractable roof."

"Appetizers were fantastic, but the entrees pretty lackluster. Halfway through dinner, they seated two incredibly obnoxious people next to us, who gabbed loudly throughout the rest of our meal. Not their (restaurant's) fault, but annoying nonetheless."

"Intimate and tight tables, not unlike many NYC restaurants though, but not a place for private conversations. We were there for Saturday brunch and the music was the only problem I had with this cute place. It was a perfect place for nice classical or lighter music, instead of constant thumping of techno. The tuna sandwich was probably the best I have ever had and the garlic fries (huge portion of steak fries) were awesome. The cheddar burger was delicious too."

"I have been to this place a few times for drinks and decided to try it for New Years Eve dinner. While the food was good , I was not happy with the service. They seemed to want to rush out of there even thought there were several tables available. I would understand if people were waiting for our table. As the waiter bought our check, he came by 3 times to check if we had put our credit card in. The prix fix came with unlimited presecco which we only enjoyed one glass. The second glass, we were being rushed out. It was a little annoying and the waiter was terribly unfreindly. All this when they already added the 20% gratuity for all parties. Made the food experience not as enjoyable."

"Saturday brunch was very quiet. We sat in the garden and the atmosphere was nice and tranquil until we got our food. Right as our food was served, one of the servers brought out a drill and decided to fix a table in the garden as we were trying to eat. Considering we were the only ones sitting in the garden at the time and the place overall was dead, I feel they could have selected a better time to do this."

"Stay away! I had a reservation at 9:00, at 9:45, 3 of us were finally brought to our table...we would have been better off at the bar. We were clearly sat at at table for 2 with an extra chair brought over. There is NO way that our plates would all fit on the table; we couldn;t even look at our menus at the same time. The hostess "apologized" telling us if we wanted to wait longer then maybe we could get a different table...I think 45 minutes was long enough. If they didn't have room for 9:oo, they should have told us they were booked and not let us make the reservation. They didn't even offer to comp us for anything, it was insulting. Obviously, we left, we went to Public down the street and had a great meal and a normal size table."
