"Our server got changed on us in the middle of service, I supposed this was due to shift change. Over all our server was pretty good. the atomosphere was nice as usual which is why I chose this restaurant. I was really surprised ny my dissapointment with the food. I have dined at this restaurant numerous times and loved everything. I had the ribeye steak which I ordered medium but it was burned. The crab soup was just as good as I remembered it and same with the calamari. Overall this was not a terrible dining service. I would recommend that if servers are going to switch in the middle of service they should let the guest know."

"The overall experience was very nice. The food was predictably good.
The waiter, however, requires soon mentoring.
The waiter, a young man, was too quite in his demeanor and overall approach to guiding us through the ordering process. We had an elderly gentleman, my father, with us and the waiter never addressed him. As it turns out, my father is hard of hearing and never heard a word of the waiters questions or comments.
This is not a unique problem to this waiter or this Restraunt.
Some of your wait staff are quite excellent at projecting their voice and engaging each customer in turn.
A refinement in this area would improve my overall rating of this venue."

"this is one of the best of the Clyde"s monthly specials that I have had so far. A halibut fillet served on bed of barley and mushrooms with an asparagas salad. Cooked perfectly. For desert we tried the rhubarb crumble tart that was also great. Excellent service and good wine at a moderate price."

"Although I love this restaurant -- I find the menu is a little off. I found it hard to find more than two things on there that I liked. My whole family agreed. "The food is good but nothing special however they changed their selection of salads recently. The salads used to be great and now they are mediocre to lousy. I have tried three different salads and they are sub par quality compared to other restaurants. I will come back only to frequent the bar which is a good place for groups to meet."

"Very disappointed for the second time in 5 months. This has been our go-to place for many years for special occasions and quiet dinners, but it has become unreliable...the service, or rather the lack of good service is the greatest problem. Other issues are uninteresting desserts and lack of consistency with the food. I expressed discontent after our December visit, but no response from the restaurant...I guess that they just didn't care. It also didn't seem as crowded this year for Mother's Day so I must not be the only one feeling this way."

"Tower Oaks Lodge is a beautiful venue in a beautiful location. The "Lodge" ambience is thorough without being overdone -- no kitsch here. The tunnel of fairy lights you walk through to get to your table puts you in a festive mood, so it's a great place for Mother's Day and similar celebrations.

The food is very good but not superlative; nothing pretentious or daring here, just a dependable kitchen that turns out fresh, hearty meals every time. Portions are ample but not excessive and prices are very reasonable. Save room for dessert, because the house-made desserts are excellent."

"My teenaged daughter and I went here for Mother's Day dinner. It was busy, but with our reservation we were seated quickly. The negative is that we ended up with a two top table in the front bar area which was a bit busy and noisy with people watching sports. Our server seemed to be inexperienced and was not handling her tables very well. She kept apologizing . I was never asked if I would like another drink. And water refill was very slow. Our food was good though!! And since our server was overwhelmed we were not rushed which I liked."

"My wife asked for her meal without the butter sause (or that it be put on the side). Although the server indicated this was no problem, the kitchen staff did not perform as requested. No employee stopped by the table after the food was served so that we could call it to their attention. Only after everyone had finished did a manager stop by who we advised of the situation.
The manager removed the item from our bill.
(Note: manager did stop by during the salad course, but no one stopped by after main course was served).
I would have prefered to get what was ordered and pay for it!"

"Have been here before and food was wonderful- this time we had the haddock and ravioli and found it quite uninspiring. Nothing "wrong" - just not very good. Even the rhubarb tart was bland. We were very disappointed. Also, though we had a reservation, we were seated in a noisy bar area. (I did not ask to be moved- hoped the 20 somethings were going to be seated and noise alleviated- so tried not to make a fuss.) They stayed through the meal- though the more they drank, the quieter they became, thanks goodness."

"Delicious food, preparation and accompaniments to entrees creative and well- prepared, served hot, which was great. Our only quibble was too much salt, which tends to be a given at various the Clyde's where we've eaten. "We were greeted with smiles and directed to our table (even though we were very late). The staff could not have been more inviting. Our waitress was wonderful and gave us some great tips on what to order. Our food was brought to us in a very timely manner and was paced perfectly. We never felt rushed or left waiting.

There were a lot of latino meals on the menu this time no doubt due to Cinco de Mayo. Please bring back the duck dishes. They were wonderful. There also seemed to be quite a bit of seafood dishes on the menu. Would be nice to have a little more balance in choices.

I would recommend your establishment to anyone who asked where to go for a great meal with great atmosphere.

"Menu is nothing original, quality is usually pretty high. Average age of diners appears to be well over 50 due mostly to presence of children and grandchildren, although bar seems to attract some young professionals. Noise level is always somewhat too high. Our party of five was given a booth for four with a chair at the end, not ideal. Waiters continually anxious to turn over the table. Why do we keep coming back? Love the Great Room. "The beauty of Tower Oaks Lodge is that you can plan ahead or check on open table and nearly always get a table. The food is very consistent and tasty and there is enough variety to please most tastes. It is part of the Clyde's chain and as such you know you will always get good value. You should be able to look it up on open table as Clyde's as well as Tower Oaks Lodge. The decor of Tower Oaks is outstanding as is the decor in all Clyde's venues."

"The table I requested in my reservation was ignored, so we were brought to three different tables before we were seated in the area I requested in the first place. The first was dark and close; the second was far from a window; and the third was right where I originally wanted to be seated. Half the restaurant was empty, so I think it was just a lack of attention and caring that contributed to the seating debacle. Once seated and having received our food, which seemed to be reheated for the occasion, the waiter talking to the people at the table behind us was literally shouting, and it put a period of unpleasantness on our meal and conversation as he described menu items and took orders."

"My co-worker recommended Tower Oaks initially for an after work bar stop. I had never been, she had been there a couple of times before. She knew that I loved Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture. She said the bar wasn't crazy loud and the food was good. I went not knowing what to expect and let it wash over me.
I was so in love with this place I didn't want to leave. It's funny the food was good but I didn't even think much about it because it was my eyes that got the treat. This place is amazingly beautiful. It is rustic. Yes there are chandeliers that somewhat resemble FLW but its the colors, the attention to detail everywhere you look. I love American Indian portraits and there in the hall are at least five of them. A+++"

"We are never disappointed by the food - there is something for all tastes. But what we really like is their friendliness and willing to accomodate our needs. We like to go with there with my 88 and 90 year old parents. In our party of 4, one can hardly hear and uses a walker and another one has a fractured laryn. They always find a good table for us - it is harder when there are more than 4 of us. Also, they will split an entree between two people. This is espescially nice when we have appetizers, given the smaller appetites of older people."

"I have been going to Clyde's pretty much since it opened on M street in Georgetown around 50 years ago. Two days I ago I took a client to lunch at Tower Oaks. We are both moderate food nuts but go to Tower Oaks because it is quiet, and we can look at papers in private and the server knows not to intrude by asking "how is everything in the middle of my sentence".

But...I saw something compelling on the menu, scallops with mushrooms, ramps, and other things. OK, I thought, the chef is in charge and i gotta try this. My client chose the fish tacos. We decided on both and asked to have them divided on two plates

It was pure heaven. Both dishes. I never thought of clydes as being a foodie destination but tower oaks is for me now."

"I have eaten here dozens of time and was pleased to get a last minute reservation on Friday night. Our server, John, was great. He recommended a couple of different wines we might like, didn't rush us as we finished wine and coffee. The menu currently being offered is far better than the St Patrick's Day version, but I'd love to see some less caloric and high fat appetizer offerings. A couple of large and exuberant parties were seated in the same room which made conversation a little difficult."

"The cheeseburgers are excellent at this chain. Additionally, the homeade chips are great as well. I appreciated that the waiter served them to me in the dining room, when I understand they are a bar food item. Great sauce with the chips. Should serve more of it with the order."

"The food was delicious - and our waiter was great. We went to lunch early that day and it was a lovely meal. Three of us had the steak salad - delicious - and I couldn't finish my steak, so I took it home and had it for (a fantastic) lunch the next day."

"We had the crab and artichoke appetizer. It was bland and lacked spice. I had the crabcakes for dinner. They were full of big chunks and very little filling. Outstanding. Service was ok. He disappeared for periods of time but was friendly."
