"Truly authentic Mexican cuisine! This mainstay has been around since I went to college in the 80's. It has to be great to survive this longevity. The food is well-prepared, fresh and very tasty. The drinks are also well-made. The service is prompt and friendly. We drive all the way from Rhode Island to eat here because of the food!"

"Visiting Boston we went based on reviews.
The menu was interesting though certainly not the authentic mexican I had expectexd.
The sangria was 30 bucks a pitcher and has the most interesting cinnamon flavor..the whole experience was strange... have to admit though it was only mediocre....
BUT the food is priced fairly for ehhh food...
Very strange but unique kinda food... the boyfriend says he would return..."

"My family and I have been going to Sol Azteca for many years. We can honestly say that this place is like wine - it gets better with age. Sol Azteca offers authentic Mexican food - or as authentic as one can get in Boston - and the service is great. Their drinks are good and they offer many delicious vegetarian dishes, as well. This place has a little bit of everything for everyone."

"The queso frito was oily and gooey (Qdoba's queso is far better). The cilantro chicken was smothered in a green cilantro sauce that looked unappetizing. Our waiter brought the wrong quesadilla (we ordered chicken and beef, but she brought chicken and cheese) and looked clueless when we told her it was wrong the one. After we asked for the check we had to wait nearly 10 minutes, because the front-of-house manager was too distracted on the phone. We will never go back or recommend Sol Azteca to anyone."

"This place did NOT need a gimmick (hats or beads) to get people in the door - it just needed its lovely menu. All of the food was amazing. I am from southern california and I have an "issue" with new england mexican food BUT Sol Azteca hit the spot.
You will enjoy this.
A note though - the noise level here can get beyond boisterous. (you've been warned)

"Sol Azteca has been great forever! Not just the standard Mexican food but some good specials and regional dishes. Love the cabbage salad! Always delicious salsa! Lots of fresh cilantro! Even good shrimp, a vanishing breed in this part of the world!Just wish other restaurants knew how they keep up the quality, friendliness, ambiance... year in and year out... wish we went there more often!"
