"The service is among the best I've ever experienced. From the enthusiastic valet to the very attentive owner, every detail was attended to. The food was excellent and we very much enjoyed the low-key jazz combo adding to the romantic mood. We will certainly be back again."

"This restaurant as always was superb. The reservation process through OpenTable however was not. I made a 7:30pm dinner reservation and received a confirmation. But somehow, without my knowledge, it was changed to 5:30pm. By dumb luck I found out about the change in time to get it fixed. OpenT says the restaurant must have made the change and told me to call them directly. The restaurant said No they didn't change it, were happy to correct it, and OpenT must be confused. But in any event if it wasn't me who changed it, shouldn't OpenT have notified me? And if I have to call the restaurant directly to ensure my correct reservation, doesn't that sort of defeat the whole purpose of OpenT? Le Chateau is the best, go - but shame on OpenTable."

"First impression are of the grounds that have been let go. Second impression is of the interior that as not been updated since we married there 20 years ago. Third impression is the dated menu. Prices were high but food was average. The whole place needs a face lift."

"Went for Mother's Day dinner. Would've rated service 4 but it was an overwhelmingly busy night and you should expect things to take a bit longer on nights like that, and for any lapse, the server made up for it as soon as he could. Great food."

"Overall, it was a good experience. The food was excellent, well proportioned (not too much nor too little), the wait staff was fairly friendly, and the views from the window seat we had were very nice. However, the wait staff seemed a bit out of sync. I suspect this may have been from the restaurant being understaffed. They also seemed to have had some new staff coming on board that needed extra direction from the more senior members; not optimal to be doing on an event day such as Mother's Day when we were there."

"It turns out the food was the main thing–excellent. The restaurant is an old JP Morgan house, so you can't go wrong as far as ambience and old world charm--and we peeked around at some of the other rooms, which was so much fun! But the dinner--chateaubriande perfectly done for two and all that goes with it--was memorable. Perfect Baked Alaska for dessert--where can you even find it these days? We'll be back."

"It was my birthday celebration with friends. The food was excellent, we were taken care of well.The escargot were tender and the mustard and herb crusted rack of lambwas perfect. I'm not big on public displays but someone did tell them it was my birthday and they brought a beautiful baked Alaska at dessert time, which was quite tasteful. No one sang! It's a beautiful place and a great place for a celebration. I am looking forward to a Sunday brunch in the future."

"They were hosting an special event - fund raiser - on the night of our reservation. It slowed the kitchen down significantly resulting in extra waiting time for the presentation of our food. The restaurant should have let us and Open Table know before accepting the reservation."

"Le Chateau was particularly interesting because of the actual space and location. It is a beautful historic home and the atmosphere is old world. What made us very happy was the attention to details in regard to the service. The valet did not give tickets, but rather identified us by sight. Our car was also waiting when we stepped out on exit. This is rarely done anymore elsewhere. The head waiter was attentive, professional and charming. Cocktail orders were taken and served right away, and there was just the right amount of time to enjoy them before our order was taken for the balance of the meal. There was music, and our dinner was not rushed. We were given a great table (rare for twos) and had a great time.Souffle's for desert a MUST!"

Gave me a hard time honoring a certificate I had; created a scene embarrassing me in front of my guest (celebrating a friend's milestone birthday). "I was very disappointed in the food and the way other diners were dressed for an expensive restaurant. One wouldn't know from the food and desserts that it was a French restaurant. Neither my companion or I was impressed with the cuisine and perhaps because the staff was involved in setting up for a big event downstairs, they were not prepared to begin serving at 6 p.m. It was unsettling to be in the dining room at first. On a beautiful day, the views are beautiful and the building itself lovely. However, it seems the kitchen is downstairs and it took rather look for some of the courses to arrive. Our waiter was very nice but I would not go back."

"You can't beat the ambience at Le Chateau. Very romantic, especially dining on Valentine's Day. Prix fixed dinner choices were varied, but French favorites like escargot or Chateaubriand were not on the menu. The venison was delicious. Desserts were anti-climactic unless you picked a souffle for which there was an extra charge. Service was prompt and not rushed. My only criticism was in the handling of the check which was incorrect. After being corrected, our credit card was not returned and we had to go and retrieve it on our way out. It had fallen on the floor!! I would only return for a special occasion because of the high cost for dinner."

"To start, valet was a joke. They don't use a ticket system so its a mess getting your car and once we had it, it took forever to exit. The service messed up our bill and failed to bring drinks we ordered. Also our coffee came 15 minutes after the dessert course. Timing was poor. Ambiance from the outside was pretty but inside needed renovation. The food was not seasoned correctly and my scallops were poorly seared and slightly raw on the inside."
