McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant is located in historic Ghirardelli Square. Serving you the freshest quality food available as demonstrated by our menus, which change daily and feature at least 30 different varieties of fresh seafood. The restaurant features a warm, classic ambiance created by a 3-tiered dining room design and a rich decor of deep mahogany woods, unique lighting fixtures and classic brass accents. The expansive windows overlook the San Francisco Bay, Aquatic Park, Alcatraz, Angel Island and Marin. "What can I say ! Every bit about this experience was wonderful! Our waiter was amazing and so attentive! He came over and checked on us many times . He even offered to hold on putting out main dish in so we could visit and we took him up on it! My mother had never been to your restaurant and she's been talking about it since. "Bar service was terrible. We ordered our drinks and waited over 20 minutes for them to arrive, in fact, we got our bill before our drinks arrived.
Once we were seating in the dining room the service was better, however, we ordered a half order of oysters and then asked for another half order. Whee we got the second order she brought out a full order (12) and charged us accordingly. The food was good and the view was really nice. I would go here again, but just hope for better service next time."

"My experience was great at the restaurant. I was with a group of 8 guys that had come in from out of town and had an overall great experience. Entrees varied from steak to seafood and everyone commented that their food was good. Although nothing stood out as being exceptional, we all walked away pleased and would eat there again."

"I've eaten here before and wasn't impressed, but everyone I talk to raves about this restaurant, so I thought I'd give it a try again. I ordered the sashimi appetizer. It was definitely NOT sashimi grade fish. The salmon was chewy and the ahi was stringy. After about 3 bites, I sent it back. I give credit to my server he handled it great and took it off the bill immediately. The rest of my meal was mediocre at best. There are much better restaurants in the city."

"Since moving to the Bay Area a little over a year ago, we have been to this restaurant 6 times. We have never been disappointed. We have a number of dietary challenges in our family, and the staff and chef are always happy to accommodate. The food has been excellent every time. Plus, the view of Alcatraz Island and the Bay are fabulous. We highly recommend!"

"McC&K is a good restaurant, but not great. Food was good, but not memorable. Service was adequate, but not noteworthy. We were kept waiting for over 10 minutes, with reservations, while numerous tables seemed to be available, for an early-evening midweek dinner. Cheesecake was refrigerated, not baked. For nearly $150 for 2 people, we could have gotten better food and service elsewhere. View of the marina is somewhat interesting, but just isn't that big of a deal."

"They say the food is half the experience at a restaurant .... The waiter the other 50 !
Well, our waiter was so awful & we were celebrating such a special occasion , that it counted for 90% of our experience at the beginning! My husband got up to talk with Maitre D' and the problem was fixed instantly & completely ... Thank goodness for that ! You cannot turn back the clock on such a special occasion as celebration my son's first communion & once it is truly spoiled by a waiter's attitude and service ..... There's absolutely nothing anyone can do!
The rest of our celebration was how we envisioned it to be!
Thankfully to the maitre D and waiter that stepped in & took over our most precious meal !"

"While the overall food is well prepared, but the composition of what's on the menu seemed more experimental and the flavors didn't work as well as some of the previous offerings (in my opinion). Examples: We tried the Hamachi Sashimi which was served over avacado slices with truffle oil and basil. The basil was overwhelming and conflicted with the more delicate flavors . Then I ordered the Hawaiian Ahi with Cajun spices, served with white rice, wakame salad, and pickled ginger (very traditional), soy/wasabi. Good but not great"

"My experience at McCormick and Kuleto's was EXCELLENT. I made reservations through OpenTable and requested a window seat. I had a friend visting San Francisco for the 1st time and I really wanted to dine at a restaurant that had good food with an excellent Bay View.
McCormick and Kuleto's did not disappoint. It was a great dining experience from the service to the food. Excellent!!!
The watress was very attentive and made some really great food suggestions.

"I don't remember the name of our server but she was one of the best I've had in years. We had our dinner with our three year old son and she was on top of it with him. I actually spilled a glass of water on our table and with in seconds she had a staff there and changed out everything . This woman should be in the running for server of the year in this company."

"We arrived at 8pm on a Sunday. We were seated near a particularly high maintenance table of Moms and Daughters. Once that group left, the service and atmosphere improved dramatically. The food was excellent by all accounts. The chocolate bag (more like an open box) was incredible. The bottom was a very thick dark chocolate and that dessert would be suitable for sharing among a group of six.
We had trouble flagging cabs home from the restaurant. The restaurant maitre-d had arranged a limo for us when we asked for 2 cabs. The limo would have been very pricey compared to normal cab fares. I would suggest taking matters into your own hands and calling for a cab yourself."

"Great staff and I mean everyone! You will have a hard time finding a better view on a sunny day in the City. The food was prepared and served very nicely. I had the pan seared scallops and my wife had salmon stuffed with brie and crab. They were both out of this world in flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Food was fair and the service was poor, but the vi.ew was great until the let a group of 8 guys stand right in front of our table. Except for the oysters, the food was surprisingly mediocre. The clam linguine was very bland, with poor tasting and gritty clams. We had these same clams at another restuarant earlier in the week, which were much better tasting and not gritty. The dungenous crabs with pasta dish was served luke warm. Our waiter was obviously new with very little training; not his fault but the fault of the restuarnt management. There were so many sevice deficiencies it not worth giving details; we know good service and this was not it. The worst part was when they let 8 guys stand in front of our table blocking our view."

"We arrived about an hour previous to our 8:15 reservation and sat at the bar. The bar was pretty nice, but very busy. The line to get a table was out the door, and they were turning people away due to not having a reservation. We checked in with the hostess when we arrived at 7:15. Although we didn't expect to get seated until 8:15, we checked back a few times, and then were seated at approximately 9 pm.
The light at our table kept going out for some reason. Although this place has a great view, you really can't see anything after the sun goes down (which it was down at 9). The scallops were seared pretty well. My wife's dish wasn't as good as the scallops however.
All in all, a pretty nice restaurant for a special occasion."

"Amazing views and good seafood - oysters, crab louie - make this a hit with out of town guests. But on our last visit, the staff - from the bartenders to the wait staff to the kitchen - seem to be resting on those laurels. This is a great place to go and linger over the view with a drink and a leisurely meal, but if you're a tourist looking for a quick bite, keep looking - this is not the place for you."

"This is a really good seafood restaurant. It has a beautiful view of San Francisco bay. The fresh fish choices are good and very well prepared. Our service was a bit slow especially when it did not seem the restaurant was all that busy the night we were there."

"The lunch/bar menu was not very good. The tuna was the worst I've had, I have never seen so much gristle. It took forever to get our drinks and food, a refill, forget it. We were on vacation and thought it would be nice. Normally I dont like chains, I remember why."

"I love the view at this place, the ambiance is great. Definitely a great place to bring visitors from out of town. The meal and wine selection is good, the seafood for some of the folks was great. Others did not share the same sentiment on the food. Our conclusion was the food was just average not great. The service was not great either, very slow and messed up our orders. I have been here before, my previous experience on service was great the first time."

"I have eaten at McCormick & Kuleto's every time I have visited San Francisco and have historically had a great experience. This time the service was slow and the the waiters were surly, disinterested and frankly sloppy in their attention to us. Insult to injury, as well as a standard service charge for a table of 10 the bill came with a section to make an additional tip....McCormick & Kuleto's should wake up....your in a recession and instead of focusing on value and great service you employ a team with a major chip on their shoulders. Will not return to McCormick & Kuleto's based on this experience...what a pity!"

"We had a wonderful experience. The view of San Francisco Bay looking over Aquatic Park was fantastic, especially enjoying the sunset and the changing view as it became darker. The salmon and scallops we had were excellent, prepared just right with delicious accents. The service was timely and gracious. We had a most enjoyable and relaxed evening."

"This was a special occasion to reward our granddaughter for getting straight As. The restaurant was incredible! They prepared a specially printed menu, gave us a wonderful seat by the table, provided excellent service, served a delicious dinner, and made this an all-around memorable experience. No matter what the reason, when you are looking for a fine dining experience, McCormick & Kuleto's is the place to go. Just a hint: plan ahead with a reservation through Open Table - it's easy and convenient!"

"Extraordinarily friendly service. The Shrimp Kiss appetizer is a MUST. If you want the view be sure to be seated well before sun down. The night view is ok but nothing compared to the day view. Expect great food and service!"

"I don't know how most restaurants handle the problem of screaming children, and, from time to time, we encounter the issue. For this restaurant, they chose to ignore it. The kid screamed for the first 20 minutes of our visit, and then the family left. If I owned a restaurant, especially one with fairly high prices, I would insist that out of control babies be removed from the restaurant until they had calmed down, learned some manners or reached the age of consent...So, nice restaurant, great service and food, wonderful view and interior decor...ruined by the rudeness of parents and the reluctance of the restaurant to enforce some sort of behavior policy."

"Our in-laws were in town and we had 3 small children (infant, 5 and 10 years old). We were worried about bringing them into the restaurant with the kids and being dressed very casually after a day out at Fisherman's Wharf. The waiter was outstanding-- he was very pleasant, nice and unpretentious. The noise-level was loud, so honestly, you couldn't hear a baby. We were lucky that our kids were overall well-mannered and didn't knock anything over and the baby was quiet for 99% of the dinner, so no extreme wailing. Everyone loved the view and meal. So glad we were able to enjoy a nice meal- our goal was to not give up dining in SF, even with kids!"

"I made a reservation online and requested seating with a view for my family of 5, since it was our first visit from out of state. The reservation was so easy and everything was perfect. "confusion through out meal as who was waiting us. Evidently, after inquiring I found out that there was a change in shift.
Even there was the new one should have come by the table but did until I told another on that I was going to send a search party to look for him. Tables who arrived after us had their entrees while we were on out appetizers. We were taking guests out for Easter dinner. This was not good, embarrassing."

"We ordered oysters, crab cakes for appetizers and halibut and king crab for entrees. All of it was prepared well and tasted fresh. The view of the bay is awesome and the seating takes full advantage of this. Overall a worth while experience worth repeating."

"Had a lunch celebration for my daughter's 16th birthday at M & K with four of her friends. They all enjoyed their food and especially the beautiful view. The restaurant even personalized the menus with my daughter's name and wishing her a Happy 16th Birthday. That was a very nice surprise!"

"It's the divas again! Where to begin...we loved the Chef's White Clam Linguini! It was a little spicy but hit the spot. Fried Calamari was bigger than expected but the aioli sauce was great! The Cup Clam Chowder tasted similar to one in a can, seemed like there were one clam & 2 potatoes in it. That sunset was ok, nothing spectacular. The peach cup was more citrusy than sweet. The Lump Blue Crab Cake was good! The Chef's Shrimp Scampi Sauté was okay could have used more seasoning. I personally enjoyed the Ghirardeli Mudslide! The Vanilla Cheesecake with blueberries was very flavorful, loved the crust! I could've just eaten the crust. It was thick like I'm use to so the pie didn't become soaked during storage or serving. LOVE!"
