hiko-A-mon Modern Japanese Sushi Bar & Fish Market
hiko-A-mon is a dining experience like traditional yet modern Japanese influenced by European and South East Asia. The menu features modern Japanese dishes as well as signature offerings inspired by traditional restaurants in Kyoto, Japan, where chef hiko was born and grown up. Also, hiko-A-mon has a noticeable wine list as well as a sake and shochu list. This is because Chef Hiko has a passion for wine. You can enjoy nice Japanese dishes with nice wine, sake and shochu. hiko-A-mon’s environment is well-suited to singles, couples and families. The sushi bar seats up to twelve guests, there are three special booths that seats six guests each, and there are bench-sheet tables up to sixteen guests. Private dinning room is available to accommodate up to 10 guests, and a "Ozashiki" room is available to accommodate up to 16 guests.

"Thanks for the 1000 point reservation! We were looking for a new place to try in Louisville. We got the Holiday Roll, Lobster Roll, and Westport Roll (the mango outside was PERFECT!) in addition to the Blue Fin Tuna Poke special (Wow!), Edamame, Gyoza, and Vegetable Tempura. Everything, from the sauces to the presentation to the quality of the ingredients was delightful. Our server, Beth, took very good care of us. Thank you for a delicious and enjoyable meal. We'll definitely be back!"

"Hadn't realized that this gem was pratically right around the corner. Luckily some local reviews pointed it out to me and my friend and I had a wonderful dinner there on Saturday. The service was outstanding. Our young server, aka "Yung", was helpful in explaining items on the menu and the service throughout the meal was deft and unobtrusive. Food was exceptionally tasty and the portions were more than ample.
I expect I'll go back to hiko-A-mon sometime very soon to sample menu items."

"The calamari is unlike any we've ever had & it's the best! It's a whole calamari, not breaded, very tender & just fabulous! Red snapper carpaccio in yuzu sauce was also delicious...in fact, everything the 4 of us had was fresh & well-prepared. "Hiko-A-Mon is simply the best and most authentic Japanese cafe in Louisville. You'll find a deep menu filled with the 'expected' Japanese dishes (sushi, terriyaki, ,etc.) as well as some more contemporary or unusual takes on Japanese fare. And they offer traditional dishes that are just like what you'd find in Tokyo. (What you will NOT find at Hiko-A-Man is the American-style grill with the circus-like chef shouting and chopping and tossing bits of shrimp at his customers. This kind of hokey show-off cooking has become a centerpiece of other sushi bars in America over the past few decades but it is a total fabrication and you'll never see this in traditional Japanese restaurants in Kyoto or Tokyo.) And the service is GREAT."

"Great food - our server was spectacular - the Mochi was so fresh. Loved the fact that it is locally owned and the owner was working the Sushi bar. We will definitely go back. Loved the Sietza seating for groups!! The kids loved the fish tank. Next time we're sitting at the Sushi bar."

"Hiko's is a great place! I have never had anything from there that I did not love! Hiko, Nam, and all of Hiko's Sushi Chef's are top notchand all of the staff !!! Highly recommend if you love Japanese food! Hiko and his wife are from Japan and it shows in all of the dishes that are served. Overall There is no way too go wrong unless you don't make reservations! I prefer the sushi bar with my wife for our best experience getting some of the best Sashimi, Sushi, Negeri, Shabu-Shabu! It's all great!"
