"I made a reservation for lunch for my brother and detailed this in my request on my open table notes. When we arrived and I checked in the hostess looked at him and asked if it was his birthday. He was so stunned and said yes because he was wondering how did they know it was his birthday. The manager that seated us did the same thing. It put such a big smile on his face. From the birthday wishes, the birthday card on the table, the desert and the picture, made my brother's birthday so special. Thank you so much Capital Grille! You made my brother's birthday lunch simply marvelous!"

"Although my reservation was at 5:45 PM because I was going to the theater that evening, my guest and I were assigned the worst table in the restaurant right in front of the kitchen. I must add that the restaurant was practically empty. When I said that the table was not acceptable, I was given a nice booth by the window. The food as always was very good as the service."

"We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere for a Sunday night dinner. The food was great and so was the service. We were not rushed while we sat and talked and enjoyed our wine after eating. All staff was very helpful in accomodating a wheel chair.

I have dined at several Capital Grille's in Orlando, NYC, and I've had take-out at the Chicago location and sat at the bar several times. "My wife and I recently dined at Capital Grille on our anniversary and I have to say that I was astounded by the level of service and the quality of food they provided! Ricky our waiter was amazing. He helped us choose and amazing wine, divide an appetizer, and went above and beyond with his personal service to make our night special! The filet and Delmonico steaks were outstanding!!! Thanks again for the complimentary desert!!! We will no doubt return to Capital Grille on our next trip to the windy city!!!"

"We had a very mixed experience. My fiance's filet was cooked rare (she ordered medium). Our server came off as blasé towards us. My Kona-crusted sirloin was one of the best steaks I've ever had (probably the best) and other staff (including busser and other servers) seemed to be much more accommodating. So a mixed bag, but way below expectations compared to what we read in other reviews.
We left Capital Grille feeling as though we could have had the same experience at a mediocre restaurant, so it wasn't worth the money for us."

"Fabulous service as described in other reviews and it was blessedly quiet enough for a conversation. Surprisingly, the dry aged porterhouse steak did not have as much flavor as I expected - good but not great. My wife's lamb chops were very good, though. Plan to try steaks at Joe's before returning to Chicago Cut (but very loud and expensive) or Flemings."

"This time I was disappointed as the table I requested and reconfirmed was not given to me and my party and I was told we would have to wait 1/2 hour if I wanted it. I was very specific and made the resrevation a while back. The delmonico steak though very flavorful was very fatty. The potatos augratin were delicious as was the asparagus. The best part of the meal was the outstanding service and attention to detail by Lara."

"I went to Capital Grille for my girlfriends birthday dinner. The place is classy and quiet. I really didn't have anything planned but I did tell them that it would be her birthday when I made the reservation. They put rose petals on the table and a signed birthday card from the staff. The night was great. The dry aged steak is amazing. She had a 3lb lobster(amazing). Connie, our waitress, was very attentive and friendly. The food was served with perfect timing. Dessert came free for the birthday girl. The check was high but I didn't feel bad paying for it. I think that the food and atmosphere are very nice and well worth the price. I will be going again soon."
