"The food is fantastic. No doubt. But what makes the place a winner is the service. The wait staff is friendly without being obsequious, knowledgeable, and attentive. My fiance and I had a great time sitting at a high top in the bar, watching the Bruins, and enjoying the warm night through the large screened windows. We really had a grand time."

"There was nothing wrong with our meal here. It just cost an awful lot at $200 for two,in return for which we got a good but not memorable meal. Steaks were fine, but not exceptional. The only thing outstanding was the service from Sabrina, our waitress. Nice ambience and great location. But compared to other restaurants this expensive, nothing memorable."

"Capital Grille was kind enough to honor my request for a quiet table, and it made all the difference. I wear hearing aids, which amplify everything: the person sitting across from me (desirable), the party whooping it us at the next table (bummer), the Muzak (ditto). Capital Grille is one of the few places I can count on a quiet table.
Clam chowder was perfect, as were my lobster roll and my guest's scallops. Great espresso and flourless chocolate cake to boot. John gave us impeccably professional service, and the lunch special is a good deal."

"One of our guest did not get the steak she ordered and the waitstaff and management went above and over expectations to accommodate her extra wait time for her meal by offering a complimentary drink, another order of our side dishes so they would be hot with her meal and then complimentary desserts of our choice for the table. "Definitely a splurge of an experience
The kona crusted steak was an AMAZING meal. Being in Boston on vacation, I wanted to try seafood, but when our server described the steak, I had to try it. Totally worth it. They were able to seat us way earlier than we'd planned, even on a Friday night. Beautiful ambiance. Dark inside, so hard if your eyes might be bad. Worth it for a special occasion."

"I know its the service that makes this place the best of the best - no matter who you deal with, they are freindly and professional and seem to genuinely want you to have the best experience ever - from the valets, to the bartenders, waiters, servers and bussers - everyone is working hard to make your visit the very best.

"It was my boyfriends 24th birthday dinner and the capital grille made sure to make it special. The table had subtle birthday themed confetti and a birthday card from the staff. He loved it all. The food was incredible. I recommend the lobster and crab cakes as a starter. The Kona steak is amazing. I can't eat red meat too often but I was able to try some of my boyfriends. Everything I requested in my OT reservation, the staff followed through with. I walked out so happy with everything. Paul, our server was fantastic and we will be requesting him the next time we come in, which will be sooner rather than later. Thank you for the perfect birthday dinner."

"My husband and I were celebrating him having gotten back to his college weight and he wanted a good steak. We chose Capital Grille and it was a perfect way to celebrate. We splurged on a special wine and enjoyed every bite of our tasty and completely luxurious meal. No rushing us at all, even though we were on the early end of a full Saturday evening crowd. Nicely done, Capital Grille. Can't wait to come back!"

"We were celebrating my husband's birthday at a pre-Boston Pops dinner at the Capital Grille. I had requested a romantic table in a quiet area and was thrilled with our table in a cozy room off to the side. Our table had been decorated with shiny confetti and a lovely card for my husband from the staff, very nice touches. Our server, Adam, was fantastic. He had extensive knowledge of the menu and described the Kona crusted sirloin for us beautifully. We both ordered the steak and agreed it was absolutely delicious, terrific recommendation! The entire meal from start to finish with the delicious coconut cream pie was superb!"

"You can easily spend $125/person at the Capital Grille, which I was expecting, but for this price, you expect everything to be perfect. My table was ready at the exact time I reserved it, which was great & the service was professional and timely, however the food (surprisingly) was good, but not phenomenal. I had a wedge salad, filet Oscar, and for sides, potatoes au gratin, corn, asparagus and I swear not one of those things tasted any better than anything I've had at a 99 Restaurant. The only exceptions were the appetizers (calamari and an order of prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella) which were very tasty and above average. For the same price range and similar menu, there are other options, and next time I would likely consider them."

"Start with being overrpriced, then add a snooty waiter with no personality who made absolutely no attempt to check with the chef in regards to a gluten-free option I suggested. We were celebrating a birthday and that seemed to be a bother as well. We were dressed nicely (I even wore a long gown) and tried to converse with our waiter but were still treated like second class diners. Yet the table next to us didn't get a server assigned to them (only had to wait 5 minutes before it was remedied), but were fawned over and received their entire meal for free. Skip this place and find a Ruth Chris' or a Sullivan's and be treated nicely while having a fabulous meal."

"We went to the Capital Grill before a Red Sox game on Mother's Day and although we had not taken into consideration the higher prices for the holiday, the food was wonderful. We sat at the bar to save time and the bartenders were friendly and courteous. They also were efficient as they knew we were attending a game. "The Capital Grille never fails to meet or exceed our expectations and Friday nite was no exception. After a hellish taxi ride in the pouring rain, we received a warm reception from the hos & hostess and we seated immediately. Our waiter (ZAK) was fabulous. He was there when we needed him but not intrusive. The food was fantastic! At the end of our dining experience the Valet staff went out into the rain to flag us a cab for the ride back to the hotel! The Capital Grille turned a bleak weather nite into a great evening!"

"CG on Newbury Street was a great place with lots of vibe and clubby atmosphere. Yes, it was crowded. Yes, it was noisy. But it was hoppin! This new place is sterile and institutional. I've eaten in a lot of Capital Grill locations and this is the only one that reminds me that it's a chain.
The food was just okay, which is not okay considering the prices. The Sliced Sirloin, according to the menu, is served au jus, but came to the table swimming in some mushroom infused Hollandaise, I think. No server came back to our table to see if our order was satisfactory (it was not) until my meal was getting cold and I just ate it, what the heck, and when I was almost done, sure enough, "If everything okay?"
I won't go back. It's not worth it."

"Our party of six was pleased with the menu and service at Capital Grille. In addition to wine and mixed drinks, we ordered both seafood and steak as well as comfort favorites such as Lobster Mac and Cheese and were pleased all around with the taste and preparation of different dishes. If there were flaws, they would only be the seating, where two members were located where other diners' chairs blocked ease of egress and the noise level, which made conversations among men and women difficult for some to readily hear. Those issues did not detract from the meal, but from full enjoyment of our gathering."

"I loved the atmosphere-it's beautiful and energetic. Our delmonico steaks were perfectly grilled. The sides were OK...nothing special. But what ruined our evening was the service. While sipping on our cocktails, waiting for our appetizers, the waitress said, "I'm assuming you will not be drinking wine?". Before we can say something, she started to clear the wine glasses! Is it because we're two petite looking Asian women???? Then the steaks and the sides all showed up while we barely begun our second course (salad for me, and a soup for my friend). Then we realized that the waiter didn't bother to leave us with steak knives! (I shouldn't have to ask for this). I've seen better service at Cheesecake Factory!"

"We enjoyed the food and the service. I like dining on fine food in a venue where some elbow room is provided. Many popular restaurants have great food with tables tightly packed, so a trip to the rest room can seem like an a challenge rather than a leisurely stroll. Capital Grille provides the food, wine and service along with an opulent portion of space allowing for a very comfortable, relaxing meal. Of course this has to be reflected in $$$$. The check was reasonable for what is provided."

"We had a great salad that was a special tomato, feta, pine nut situation. Delish! I got the halibut special--sesame crusted with spring veg and bok choy, the fillet was thick in the middle and thin on the sides so the middle was perfectly cooked, while the outsides were ever so slightly overcooked, but overall I'd get it again. Others had the Parmesan crusted Sole (really good), the steak au poivre, and the salmon--which they made gluten free. We also got an order of the asparagus (really good--charred), potatoes au gratin (good, but not the best I've ever had, especially for the calories), and green beans (buttery and delish).The ambiance was great, we had a bottle of wine. The bill (including tip) was about $400. Great for a celebration."

"I was honestly a bit disappointed. Capital Grille is usually a great spot to celebrate a special occasion. Every other time I've gone, they've asked if I was celebrating something and really made it a special night. This time they never asked--even though they called to confirm the reservation. I know it's a small thing, but I was really looking forward to feeling special since I was celebrating my birthday, graduating from graduate school, and 3 months until my wedding. Next time I'm celebrating a big event (or several big events!) I'm going to choose a different restaurant."

"Spent the weekend in Boston, and decided to give Capital Grille a try on a Saturday night. The place was hopping! We were offered a 5 pm or 9 pm reservation, and opted for 5. Boy, are we glad we did! We had an amazing dinner. The filet mignon we all ordered was excellent. We all agreed it was probably one of the best steaks we ever had. Had a spinach salad, mashed potatoes, and a great bottle of Cabernet. We were a little skeptical at first being that it is a chain restaurant, but we were so happy that we gave it a try."

"Went here to celebrate daughter's graduation. It was the perfect place for such a big occasion. The food, the ambiance, were awesome. We went late so no one wanted to drink, but their wine list was intense! We'll get to it next time. The steaks were tasty and cooked to perfection. It's a limited menu, but that's for the best...better to be great at a few things than just 'okay' at a lot.

"If you want to have a place where the staff is tops and many of the people have years of experience working there, this is the place. I know there is some down grade in the Boston ambience experience from the Newbury location to Boylston St. but for those trying to hang on, Move forward. Rob, Kelly, Chuck, Jeramie run the bar with complete professionalism and they can bring it to a personal level that makes to feel like family. Mark and Chris at the front entrance just go beyond in making your experience the best. The valet service is top's they open doors and secure the parking process.
