"Always like the food there but the service is always a little off. The servers seem to try and show they are a bit above you. On Sunday the server didn't bring the usual bread basket served at brunch. The water wasn't refreshed except when it was obvious the glass was bone dry. The food is always good to excellent."

"I probably won't go again; nice place to try but didn't think the food was that memorable to merit the expensive cab ride out to get there. Too many great places to eat in NOLA."

"Good food, poorly run: 1. we were put at the worst table in the restaurant 2. A friend sent a bottle of wine for the two of us but they attempted to sell us drinks before alerting us to the bottle a friend already bought from them and wanted brought to our table3. The waitress did not know how to handle bottle service. I had to open the bottle, I had to ask twice for an ice bucket, and even then we had to have is marble chiller on our tiny table,4. We were rushed to order 5. The kitchen's timing was off all night. We order 3 courses and there were long waits between the courses."

"Easily one of the very best restaurants in New Orleans. Every course was outstanding. Even the bread served before the appetizers (a house-made brioche) was delicious."

"The last several times I had been disappointed with some aspects of my favorite restaurant. This time redeemed itself! The food was thoughtful and my dining companions and I all had great dishes and enjoyed it greatly. Good job."

"The food was superb, and the service was excellent. The portions were remarkably generous. Everything was great except for the noise which was so bad as to mostly ruin the dining experience. It was a busy night, and the restaurant was generally very noisy. I usually expect this in a New Orleans restaurant, and I can deal with it. But the four diners at the table right next to ours were unbelievable. They actually screamed, shouted, and burst out with hysterical laughter throughout the meal. Our group of five eventually gave up on conversation. We decided just to eat our food and get out of there. We complained to our server, but we knew in advance that there was nothing he could do. It was an unfortunate situation."

"Patois is somewhat irregular. For example, my sweetbread appetizer was outstanding but my entree was a little overcooked. That was the pattern for all four of us in our party. Most things were quite good but here and there something was a miss."

"The food was good but not sure what all the hype is about. We had the rabbit and the quail and neither were spectacular as far as the taste of the meat. We both had MSG reactions from something in the meal. The cauliflower pasta was excellent. Service was very good. Ambiance nice."

"Restaurant Patois is a small intimate local Creole French bistro type restaurant which serves delicious food and has an excellent European based wine list. The service was very good boarding on excellent. However, because the restaurant is small, the tables are close together and there is no sound deadening walls or ceilings, the noise volume was very high and annoying to our party. You would hope the management would have recognized this fact and said something to the two different tables nearby to lower their volume and very loud laughing and almost shouting. We would have enjoyed our excellent meal much more without all of the NOISE!"

"The food was amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waiter, however, was incredibly unattentive. We went large amounts of time without having him visit our table, 15 minutes after dropping waters, 20 minutes after dropping appetizers, almost 30 minutes waiting for the check. Also, forgot to bring out items that we ordered. We decided to not make a fuss over it because we were celebrating a birthday and the food had truly been spectacular, however, I would avoid this particular waiter on any subsequent visits to Patois."

"My fiancee & I had a fantastic Easter Brunch at Restaurant Patois. They had our Opentable reservation on file and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The stay were friendly and had great recommendations. We started with the boudin balls which were some of the best I've ever had. I liked how they had a spicy, BBQ style sauce instead of the traditional mustard. Then, we had crawfish & cauliflower soup and the grapefuit & shrimp salad - both excellent. For our entrees, we had the omelet du jour and the veal. We finished the chocolate tart for dessert. The meal, service, and ambience were fantastic. Exactly what we were looking for our romantic Easter brunch. I would definitely recommend Restaurant Patois and will be back soon!"

"Fantastic french brasserie type atmosphere can be found at Patois. I took my girlfriend here our first night of a weekend trip and enjoyed this dining experience thoroughly. I recommend the moules frites for app and the rabbit or almond crusted fish for entree. I had read that the service was subpar; this was not the case for us. The only downside is that it is way uptown and requires a decent cab ride from the Quarter or business district where most hotels are......but we like to get off the beaten path so i was fun for us."

"I've had brunch at Patois on two other occasions and they were awesome! My family and I had dinner this time and enjoyed ourselves very much. The dinner selection was very interesting with a nice variety of choices from rabbit to fish and shrimp pasta that was to die for according to my daughter. The service was awesome, the drinks were not shy on alcohol! This is a lovely restaurant for a special night out while in the Big Easy. I will see them again with in the next month when I am back in town."

"The food was very good. However the entire evening was ruined by a table of 8 near the door that felt the need to scream continuously (either to prove to everyone present that they were having a great time or because they were so self-important as not to consider their effect on others). The only reason I rated the Noise as "Energetic" is because "ear-splitting" was not one of the options. Patois went from one of my favorite restaurants to a place I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN! I will just have to find a new favorite (there are plenty of others to choose from)!!"

"Definitely one of the top New Orleans Restaurants! Service was perfect. Food excellent. Grilled veggie sandwich with hummus simply divine. Baby lettuce fresh, chilled just right with delicious dressing. Cauliflower and crab soup loved by 3 people who ordered it. Haven't been. In a while but will return soon!"

"We haven't been in a while and it used to be great but our meal was TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Note to self, do not pair beets with quinoa, you end up with a purple pile of nothing. I can't imagine the chef actually tasted the stuff before he sent it out. I had the Cauliflower pasta, it was undercooked macaroni with hunks of cauliflower that had been run through the broiler, no sauce, no taste. We were terribly disappointed because it used to be a lower priced alternative to Clancy's down the street, but now it's just as expensive and lousy food to boot. P.S. We live in New Orleans and know what good food we have available, will never waste another meal there. Please pass this on."

"I took my husband to Patois for his 60th birthday. We had a wonderful time. It is more than just a great restaurant, it is romantic and a culinary delight with a lovely, cozy atmosphere. We ate and drank just enough to feel a little decadent, and we don't regret a single calorie we consumed! The brioche is YUM!
Our server was personable and knowlegable. There was a small period of time where he seemed a little overwhelmed, but he handled it pretty well."

"As always the food was excellent and we appreciated accommodation of our vegetarian diner's needs by the chef. We were seated at the corner so that we can have a conversation without shouting, and while we ended up as one of the last guests at the restaurant we did not feel rushed."

"I have never been disappointed at this restaurant. The menu is subtle and fresh and the food is cooked to perfection. Definitely Eat the Rabbit as an entree and the Duck Confit Salad beforehand. The deconstructed Snickers was amazing (still talking about it) and the Beef Cheeks over collard greens added some amazing gaminess and southern taste. This restaurant is excellent and off the beaten path."

"Excellent food in a charming neighborhood, corner restaurant. BUT we were seated in the same room with two large groups who were extremely loud! The din was really unpleasant. We had to practically yell to hear one another at our table of four. It took away significantly from the dining experience."
