"The music at noon was so loud, we were actually shouting. A fully set table for 8 collapsed three feet away from us and we barely heard it go down -- only saw it fall as well as the chaos that followed. The music was so loud, the seats were vibrating. At Sunday brunch, this is ridiculous -- especially for any poor soul who comes in with a hangover. Also, was a waiter standing by the bar who kept whooping and yelling and clapping his hands and making an quite a scene during the occasional lull in the booming music. It was obnoxious and it was also incredibly disruptive. I might also point out at this was mother's day and it was full of people eating with their moms, making his behavior even more wildly inappropriate."

"Good for a bunch of friends who are trying to listen to loud music while dining, upbeat party atmosphere. Lots of really delicious sounding things on the menu.. Food is decent. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. The waiters are fun and they have a good drink list.. Good bloody mary. You might just have more fun at the bar."

"I had heard so many great things about this place, but to me it was a very regular dining experience, and I probably won't be back! Drinks were great, and the bar tender was awesome! The food was good, but nothing superb! Food- we got everything relatively quickly, but the bad part about "the experience" was that there is a 2 hour table limit, so our whole party didn't even get to eat entrees because they wouldn't allow us to order more food after a certain point! ...that was really annoying and weird, especially when we were wanting to still spend money!!"

"Let me start off saying that the food was delicious! The mussels on the appetizer menu were fabulous. Scallops were excellent, and steaks were cooked to exact temp. Very nice presentation. Waiter was very unattentive. We probably would have ordered a few more bottles of wine if he had bothered to come and check on us. Restaurant was busy, we felt very neglected. We almost went to the bar to get drinks. No reflection on the restaurant, just our server. Also, if you want a quiet place for dinner, this is not the place. Music is very, very, loud - which had us all yelling to talk. (Along with all of the other tables). Overall, the restaurant was delicious and the host/hostess staff was very acommodating. Great location, too!"

"Beaumarchais is a terrific spot for brunch. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Our waiter was fun, if a little slow, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with drinks and lots of great food. I highly recommend a lazy Sunday brunch at Beaumarchais."

"The food and the service were quite good. Wait staff was efficient and attentive without being intrusive.
That said, I'm of the school of allowing the food speak for itself. There are a lot of bells and whistles (and sirens) at Beaumarchais, I suppose as a way to set the restaurant apart as fun and chic and unique. The music was too loud for normal conversation. They offer expensive desserts and bottles of champagne that are delivered with sparklers and an air raid siren. And I learned that Wednesday is burlesque night.
There's certainly an appeal if you like those kinds of accoutrements with your dinner, as it's a very popular spot. For me, I'll pass."

"I went to Beaumarchais on Easter with my mom. It was a great time! Loved when they shut the curtains and turned off the lights and everyone started dancing on tables. Our waitress however, was not that friendly or attentive. One time I had said I needed another minute to choose which dessert we wanted, and she proceeded to roll her eyes and walk away. The food was pretty good. Loved the tuna tartare, but the salad and the chicken dish were very bland. Overall, it was a fun experience - a very memorable Easter. But, if you want to go to a good place with a genuinely friendly waitstaff, impeccable service, amazing food (and by amazing I mean EVERY dish is to die for), and the best atmosphere: go to Bagatelle."

This is the worst experience I ever had in my life. I made a reservation online a week in advance and I should have been alerted when I tried to confirm my reservation for 3 days in a row and nobody answered the phone or dared to return my messages….. However, we came to Beau Marchais “Restaurant” (you can’t even call this “no-dance-floor-club” a restaurant) on a Friday night as group of 4 couples looking to have a great time…. To spend more than $1000 for dinner is not news for us… The place was half empty when we arrived on time, but started to fill up very qu"

"About half-way through our meal on Saturday night, a DJ cranked up the music, eliminating any regular conversation other than shouting. Our waiter, a white guy with a buzzed haircut, was last seen dancing his way around the restaurant, then disappeared, never to return to our table. We flagged down another waiter, who helped up for the balance of the meal. Very strange."

"I came with my boyfriend and another couple and we had alot of fun at brunch . Just as the reviews say, live and energetic... Perfect for a birthday celebration . Food was pretty good and fairly priced , the alcohol on the other hand was way over priced. We each got 2 drinks each out of the pitcher we ordered it would have been cheaper to just purchase by the glass . Was pretty shocked when we saw the bill but over all it was a good time but I don't see myself going there often due to the price of drinks. Our waitor was great, friendly and energetic along with the rest of the staff."

"Went on a Saturday night for appetizers and drinks. The service was a bit off. We asked the waitress about certain dishes and all she could respond was "oh it's something French". Scene was very euro - awesome music."

"The food was excellent, but the DJ is a defiant Frenchman who just turns the music up louder with each song, and certainly with every request to bring it back to a normal level. It wasn't just loud (I like loud), we had to perform charades just to cummunicate across a 20in table. The couple next to us were also rolling their eyes and comiserating with us. Perhaps another day of the week when they are doing burlesque would not have you yelling to each other over your lobster bisque?"

"Probably some of the best signature cocktails of any downtown restaurant, and a really great atmosphere. But I cannot recommend this restaurant based on the fact I was truly disappointed in the service experience. Our server was much too cool for the room.
He rarely checked in on us during our two-hour dining experience, and when he did he was a very poor communicator. He didn't even offer us any change when we paid him cash. Really inexecusable given the total expenture was over $300 for two people."

"The food was absolutely amazing. Had it not been accompanied by overbearingly loud techno music blaring in our ears simultaneously, the experience would have perfection. Food=incredible. (Go for the gnocchi!!) Ambience=horrendous. (We couldn't even have irrelevant small talk let alone a conversation.)"
