"Had a wonderful 84th birthday lunch for my mom. Excellent service, food was perfect. A very loud group of celebrating women in the open area with us made talking to each other difficult. Not the fault of the restaurant, Just know that a loud party there can ruin your time. Would have been better to be inside the restaurant. Next time..."

"We arrived late after our flight was delayed 5 hours! Called on our way to change our reservation and were welcomed without any issues.
Arrived for the final seating and had a cocktail at the bar. The bartender was very helpful and friendly. Once we were seated the service was fantastic. Sommelier had decanted our wine already as we had ordered it from the bar. Great suggestion!
Our food was nothing short of incredible. My Panko Crusted Ahi Tuna in a banana curry sauce was the star of the table (special). The calamari was a very close second.
Overall it was a spectacular evening at Celadon and we highly recommend it!"

"The food here is great. My husband and I had the best tomato soup we've ever put in our mouths! I had the duck with sweet potato purée and it was really good. The front of the restaurant feels like a sort of an enclosed patio, which is where we sat, and the ambiance was just okay. Good if you have kids with you, though. The restaurant is versatile because it can also be somewhat romantic. The service was also good."

"We had reservations to sit inside, but somehow ended up outside. The calamari was a bit overcooked this time, and the salmon entree did not seem fresh. Since we had on black clothing, our white napkins were taken away, and we were told that we would get black napkins instead. Well we waited and had to ask for our napkins which arrived after we finished our appetizers. Perhaps it was just an off night which was very crowded."

"From the calamari appetizer to the scallop and duck dinners Celadon exceeded my expectations by providing a wonderful atmosphere, wonderful service and food that was honestly some of the best I've ever had. The scallops, by far, were the best prepared scallops that I've tasted and the calamari appetizer was also the best prepared I've ever had it. The only down side was my beverage; I didn't really prefer it, but my dates pear-infused margarita was perfect!"

"Very nice meal with attentive service. We sat on the patio by the fireplace, which was really lovely. The ambiance was more casual than what we could see in the dining room. The food was all very good, if a bit expected. I appreciate the fine quality of ingredients. The recipes seemed to be a bit safe. A great spot to take friends who have a less adventurous palette. May be a disappointment for foodies. I had the braised lamb shank over couscous which was good but too lightly seasoned. One companion had the pork porterhouse which he claimed to be the best pork chop he's ever had. Another had the salmon which looked to be perfectly cooked, served over fresh, roasted vegetables. We will definitely go back. A nice way to end a day in Napa."

"We never fail to have almost a perfect dining experience when at Celadon. For our money, the patio is the place to be (for you Easterners, there is little humidity in Napa and so comfortable). One of the nice things about Celadon as well is that theyoffer a full menu at lunch and owner Greg Cole selects terrific wines for his list."

"Best meal of my week long vacation in Napa Valley. I started with Maryland blue soft shell crab panko crusted & fried w/tatsoy salad (looks like baby spinach & has a little bitterness) with yellow beets, fried won ton strips, & yuzu vinaigrette. This was AWESOME! Loved, loved, loved it! also ordered their soy-braised crispy pork belly w/watermelon, daikon, fresh herbs, & kecap manis (sweet soy). It was an awesome combination of decadent, rich pork belly and fresh, juicy watermelon. Perfect execution on the pork belly. It had a light char to make it crispy, but the inside was still tender and the fat was juicy. That dish blew me away! What a surprising combination! I was stuffed to the gills, but I ate every last bite of that masterpiece."

"We had dinner on a Saturday night in the outdoor area. All our main dishes were excellent and a bit unusual. We had the signature lamb shank and superbly flavored couscous, their fish special, their lamb sirloin special and their special pasta with lamb ragout. The waiter arranged for a 'mocktail' for one of us. The atmosphere was relaxed with excellent service, tables were not close together and a low noise level made it easy to converse. Look forward to returning on a future visit to Napa."

"I absolutely love everything on the menu here but the service has always been lackluster. I've come here now on two separate occasions for birthdays and they have never done too much to make our special days extra special, which is a shame because we spend close to $200 each time...I feel like they can comp a dessert and give us a server who is personable."

"The food at Celedon was spectacular! We were a large group, 9 of us, and everything we ordered from the small plates to the main courses to desserts was fantastic! Not a single mediocre item on the list. I was incredibly shocked by the waiter and his level of service - just unacceptable! Starting from the beginning, there was no hello, no introduction, and upon us asking him for his name he proceeded to tell us that he "doesn't give out his name, it's not his style". He was visibly frustrated by us asking him for black napkins instead of the white ones that were provided. He actually told us that he does not have a recommendation for which of the specials is his favorite because "the waiters are not allowed to taste the specials"."

"I went to Celadon while on vacation with three girlfriends in Napa. We had a 9p reservation on a Saturday and were the last table sat - which didnt matter for us, as we were just interested in trying out some local spots. The food was delicious and they were accommodating to dietary restrictions, which 2 of the 4 of us had. The restaurant is beautiful and I would definitely recommend sitting in the garden - so pretty!! All in all a great spot that I would recommend to others."

"We only had one night to spend in Napa, and Celadon was recommended to us by a chef as somewhere that used fresh, seasonal ingredients in a creative way. They were right - the starters especially were really unusual and packed a lot of taste. The staff were friendly, knew the menu well and were very professional. The ambience was very relaxed. "We went for lunch. Ate on covered patio. Excellent service (that tricky balance between being intrusive and feeling ignored) and great food. In LA, that sort of place would be pretentious staff. This was refreshing.
Marvelous setting. Sweet smelling flowers set a happy tone without being overbearing.

"As requested, we had a delightful quiet table, indoors (patio's lovely, but it was too warm that night). Excellent info on specials from our server. Portions generous - 3 massive prawns on the coconut shrimp starter. Crab cake was one of the best we've had - virtually no filler; delicious fresh lump crab, seasonings did not drown out the crab. With crab came a big serving of Asian slaw - aioli sauce terrific. Great pasta special, fettucini with loads of super-tender braised pork, sauced with the rich braising liquid; also lots of flavorful roasted mushrooms, grape tomatoes, arugula. Lamb shank from regular menu was HUGE and tender, with a nicely spiced vegetable couscous. We were way too full for dessert but the options sounded wonderful."

"It was our last night in Napa, otherwise we would've come again. Excellent service from our server, Teresa, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuine. A quaint farm-like look to the place and looking out on to their garden. I had the mussels as a starter which was excellent and their pasta special- home made pappardelle pasta with a short rib braised in red wine and mushrooms, topped with horesradish sour cream. It was amazing! I wish I'd had enough room for dessert, because they looked fabulous as well. This was so much better than the other places we had tried during the week (The Thomas, Tuscany, Fish Story)."

"We moved from Napa 11 years ago and Celedon was already one of our favorite restaurants in the Napa Valley. Since then, many exciting and fine dining establishments have opened (and closed) but Celedon continues to thrive and produce one of the best dining experiences in the valley.
Chef Greg Cole opened in the downtown Napa well before the city center became the hot spot for foodies it is today and was one of the best restaurants in the valley from day 1. Kudos!!
By the way, be sure to start with the calimari when you go."

"The restaurant combines two distinctive themes, outdoor dining in a relaxed courtyard with a fireplace as a central point of interest. Casual atmosphere. Indoors is an intimate, cozy with a different feel and a five star wine list and food selections. We all had different selections and they were all delicious. A definite restaurant selection for a casual (outside) or romantic special occasion (inside) a wonderful, reasonable combination for any occasion. We will be back."

"Wonderful service, meal and ambiance. Friendly, bustling environment in a comfortable atmosphere. The main room is cozy with a fire burning and low lighting while the area around the bar in the next room feels sophisticated, more brightly lit and a bit urban. It feels like one can chose from two different dining experiences, both terrific. The food is fantastic. I enjoyed the lamb shank with succulent fall-off-the-bone tender meat nestled in a bed of couscous with a mingling of delightful Morroccan-style spices. My husband had a pappardelle pasta with lamb shoulder that was just delicious and my mother oohed and ahhed over a lamb steak special with gnocchi that was as delicious as any North Beach must-have."

"in the heart of napa this was a nice place with a good dinner. Not great, but good. OK - 1st the less than perfect news: The bread was not served warm and was not crusty. And the Caesar Salad was more of a Caesar vinaigrette than a creamy Caesar. Now the good news: Awesome sofshell crab, outstanding pasta special, very good and attentive service, nice wine list and perfect ambiance. Enjoy!"

".....brought relatives here for lunch on a cloudy/cool day...great food: mussels, kobe burger, chicken sandwich, special soft-shelled crab salad, tomato soup, creme brulee...enclosed 'outdoor-like' area/garden setting is relaxing..attentive waitstaff...don't forget to get some goodies-to-go a few steps away at SweetiePies....downtown stores start a couple blocks away...& the RiverWalk close by."

"Soft shell crab appetizer excellent. Pasta special extremely tasty with generous portions. The onion/coconut milk soup was different and wonderful. Excellent meal that could have and should have been 5 stars. But they didnt immediately make us feel welcome. And still trying to figure out how they could miss the mark on the bread - not served warm and not crusty, kinda limp - such an easy piece of the meal to hit a home run that they missed."

"....clam chowder delicious/thick/lots of clams & potatoes....kobe burger great....2 or 3 other tables occupied during lunchtime as BottleRock going on a few blocks away/could hear the music....attentive service...comfortable outdoor-like setting...next to the RiverWalk a few steps away...not the first time here...one of our fav places."

"Great pick, in from NYC, my boyfriend and I loved it. Our waiter was friendly, talked to us about NYC, had great recommendations... enjoyed the food, great atmosphere.. also, best ice cream i think i've ever had for desert, not sure where it was from, but it was unreal."

"With so many good choices in Napa, it was tough to pick a restaurant for our birthday dinner. We picked a great place! Staff was so friendly. The chef/owner stopped by all the tables to personally check on service and food. How refreshing! The restaurant is cozy inside, with a nice patio with fireplace. I had duck which is something I don't usually order, but thought what the heck? It was delicious! My boyfriend had the scallops and crab cake...also, great. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. We will definitely return next time we visit Napa."

"My wife and I chose Celedon based on it's proximity to our hotel and that of other patrons. We were so pleased with our experience that we would highly recommend it to everyone wanting an excelent meal and quite/ romantic ambiance. The service was friendly and very knowledgible. The proprietor even came by and spoke with us for several minutes about his passion and our experience. The wine list was diverse and broad. The deserts looked incredible, we just couldn't add to our already full bellies. We started with the crispy calimary with the organge ginger glaze (Winner)! We also strated with the macadamia crusted goat cheese(yum)! For our main courses we had the seared ahi tuna and diver scallops. Perfect night."

"Visiting from Dallas, Celadon was recommended to us by a local resident. He told us to sit on the patio; even though a cool night the two top next to the fireplace was great. Server was nice & knowledgable, happily accommodated our request for a modification of an appetizer (add two scallops to the crab cake, they are FANTASTIC). Caesar salad was a bit more acidic than I'm accustomed to, but still very good. Wife had the stuffed chicken breast. She added a touch of salt but was otherwise perfect. I had the special; lamb sirloin w/ goat cheese au gratin potatoes and green beans. The lamb was closer to rare than the ordered temp of med, delicious just the same. Stand out item on the plate were the potatoes. They were unbelievably good!"
