La Ciccia is a cozy and intimate restaurant located on the edge of Noe Valley. Husband and wife owners, Massimiliano Conti and Lorella Degan work together to take you to a culinary journey through the Italian island of Sardinia. The chef is committed to use the freshest and the most authentic ingredients from his native island, resulting in pungent, lively, flavorful food. The all Italian wine list,170 labels selection represent every Region with more than a quarter devote to Sardinia in order to pair the traditional earthy flavors as well seafood influence of Sardinia cuisine. "This was our second time at LaCiccia. The Service and food were outstanding. We were served by multiple individuals (they approach each table as a team) and all were knowledgeable and attentive. They were particularly nice with our kids (10 and 5). The dishes were all very well prepared and presented: oven baked squid starter and Albacore Tuna main course were perfectly cooked. The pork and lamb were also nicely done, one of the best lamb chops I have had anywhere! If you are looking for a kid-friendly dish, go for the gnochetti w Pork sagu, which is without chili powder. The wine list is expansive enough but more importantly, well-suited for the cuisine. Lastly, we could not have desert due to our 5 y.o. being tired and grumpy ;-)"

"Everything was very salty! The pasta was delicious but the main course, pork loin, and side of broccoli rabe were all too salty for me. The waitress was very knowledgable but a bit demeaning if you asked any questions."

"Our favorite restaurant in SF never disappoints. Last weekend we had an amazing assortment of dishes. Beginning with fresh prosciutto with a grape vinaigrette reduction. Followed by our main courses of lamb chops (perfectly seasoned and cooked), the amazing gnochetii (our favorite here), and spaghettusu with garlic and salted fish roe, an incredible linguine with prosciutto and veal, and expert sides of cauliflower and onion, broccoli and olives. We finished with the gelato trio and the saffron cakes. Both were sublime. The wine was Sardinian, red, and perfectly matched by our waiter.
Easily a top 5 restaurant in SF, with service and ambiance to match an authentic meal with innovative and feah ingredients. We can't wait to come back!"

"A San Francisco classic---wondrously fresh and sophisticated food without pretense. Lovely folks run the place and service always friendly and fun-loving. We try to go about every 5-6 weeks. Our friends there for first time were thrilled."

"My second visit. The Sardinian food has unusual ingredients with great tastes. I had a pasta dish with sea urchin and dried tuna heart that was salty like sea and earthy at the same time. Amazing! Great wine suggestions and attentive and friendly service. Tables are too close (I felt like I was too knowledgeable about the lives of the two women near me)."

Our server provided excellent knowledge on the food, wine, etc. and was very entertaining and charming. The ambiance was perfect - cozy but roomy enough and very comfortatble. Perfect for a bithday dinner!

"The octopus appetizer was fantastic and spicy and the special; pea soup, thick and tasty. The fresh spaghetti with bottarga was very good but did have some hotness which I did not mind but my wife cannot have anything spicy. The wild shrimp finished the dinner perfectly as we did not order too much and every dish tasted great. The gelato (3 flavors) was ok. I would definitely come again but my wife had some trouble with the spices."

"I was very excited to have dinner here after doing some research about the place and reading reviews. To say that it lived up to all of the glowing reviews is an understatement. From the moment you walk in everyone is welcoming and friendly. I wanted to try everything but once we put in out order of calamari, stewed octopus and two pastas our server told us no main course because it would be too much food. He was right. Once we started on our delicious pasta dishes after devouring the delicious appetizers we were stuffed mid way but it was so awesome we pushed on and finished. Dessert? Oh yes please! I will definitely be returning to La Ciccia on my next trip to San Francisco."

A few years back, we fell in love with the food while eating at a Sardinian restaurant in Milan... and have not found another one since. La Ciccia is a true gem, where the food is the main attraction but everything else from service to wine list to ambience only enhances the entire experience. We loved the fresh burrata appetizer, octopus stew, pasta with bottarga, and langostines. All of which are MUST-eats. We also adored our server who knew just the right wine to match our palate and our plates! Can't wait to go back again."

"The food was good but not amazing. I was there many years ago, when La Ciccia first opened, and the quality has gone noticeably downhill. The mussels and clams appetizer was considerably over-salted, the pane carasau tasted heavily of flour, the lamb entree was so undercooked we couldn't eat it, and the ricotta and saffron cake was dry. The octopus appetizer and the veal ragù were delicious, but considering the total bill I really hoped all the dishes would have lived up to expectations. The service was great and the wine the waitress recommended was a perfect match for our food."

"This restaurant would fit right at home in a small town in Italy. I can't think of another restaurant that delivers as authentic a meal and experience as La Ciccia. This is Italian food done properly and I don't say that easily. Semi-casual but top-notch everything. There are still a few I have yet to try, but this is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco."

"We had a totally delightful and delicious meal here on Friday evening. First, we showed up early, and while they did not have our table, when we came back about 10 minutes before our reservation, she was able to seat us. Our waitress was so helpful and patient, helping us with a wine list that was unfamiliar. Then the food. The pasta was piping hot and delicious, the ahi tuna special was a perfect portion and cooked perfectly. We had the ricotta cake and while we were so full when we left, it was the perfect finish to a lovely meal. We will be back."

"Our dinner here was excellent. The spicy octopus is one not to be missed - if you like spicy foods. THe tomato sauce was pretty hot! But the octopus was cooked so well, and the flavor of the sauce was something I wanted to soak up with all of the delicious soft fresh bread. We also had two specials - a white pizza with raddichio, salami, and fresh cheese (never had raddichio that I liked but this was cooked perfectly), and a lamb and goat pasta that I could eat every night! We also tried the prawns (delicious but extremely hard to eat), and the lamb chops (wow!!!). THe server was extremely friendly and helpful when selecting wines from the extensive wine list. If I had more money, I'd return here again and again."

"The staff all works communally to ensure excellent table service. They are helpful, friendly and engaging. I took friends from out of town here and they were thoroughly impressed.
