McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Milwaukee
Our chef works with local reputable seafood purveyors to obtain only the freshest seafood from local waters & beyond. We offer guests dozens of seafood varieties at the peak of their seasons, including Alaskan Halibut, Northwest Salmon, Hawaiian Mahi Mahi, Oregon Petrale Sole & a large selection of oysters from the U.S. & Canada, just to name a few. Menus are printed DAILY featuring a "Fresh List" of more than 30 seafood species. Guests may find that the seafood offered at lunch differs from dinner offerings, as fresh deliveries arrive to the restaurant throughout the day. McCormick & Schmick's practices traditional mixology hand-crafting cocktails using only fresh-squeezed juices. You won't find any blenders at a McCormick & Schmick's bar. Our bartenders are like chefs in their own right. Classic drinks, such as martinis, Irish coffee, single malt whiskeys & bourbons are complemented with modern favorites.

"We had 15 guests for our daughter's graduation dinner. The servers were very attentive, the appetizers and entrees were wonderful and the setting was not noisy or crowded for a late afternoon celebration. The table was beautifully set and the menus were personalized with the Guest of Honor's name. I would recommend this place for a special occasion. Although it is pricey, we felt that it was worth every penny and will be a fond memory for us and all of our guests."

"5 of ushad steak, one also had lobster. My only complaint (as a non-seafood eater) was the VERY limited options for things other than seafood. It is a SEAFOOD place...but, still -- I would have expected a few more options - at least a pasta and a few chicken items with no seafood. Also - no appetizer options for non-seafood, so they actuall.y lost out, as we would have all probably gotten an appetizer -- only the seafood lover in our group of 5 got the shrimp cocktail, the rest of us didn't get appetizers, as there weren't really options for us. But, again -- that's just me :)"

"Brunch items were very limited. Bar doesn't even serve blended drinks...waitress indicated they have no blender?! Honestly, I only dined here because all my other favorite restaurants were booked. Others who have dined here were not impressed...neither was I. Food was presented well...just didn't taste that great. I will not eat here again."

"My daughter knows my love of seafood, so she selected this restaurant for our Mother's Day brunch.
We were greeted immediately and we had reservations, so were seated quickly.
The brunch menu had some delicious-sounding options, but not much seafood, so my granddaughter and I went right to the regular menu to find our selections.
Dale, our server, was helpful in explaining the dishes, and always responsive to our requests.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and took home left overs from the rather large portions."

"Nothing spectacular. For a seafood restaurant, my salmon and shrimp were overcooked. You would think they have the timing down by now. On the other hand, my clam chowder was only lukewarm. I don't think I'll be back for a while if at all."

"The service was excellent, even though our waiter must have been new, he was a little nervous. Good assortment of daily and seasonal specials, well explained. The food was outstanding. We both had the daily dinner special (soup or salad, choice of 4 entree's, choice of 2 desserts); which, for $28.50 was very reasonably priced. The regular menu was quite pricey. The soup was a hearty chowder, and the salad was a generous portion of greens with a very vinegary dressing, walnuts, and blue cheese crumbles. I had the shrimp scampi with linguini (very garlicky, but yummy), and my partner had beef medallions with shrimp. Both were delicious and well presented. My only complaint was that the only way to get vegetables was to order them as a side."

"Service was a little disappointing. We had 2 waiters. They kept getting the food and drinks wrong for our table. It looked like they kept starting on the wrong end of the table or something??? One person did not get their entree only their side vegatable. The waiter said that was all he thought she ordered. He did apologize but it was just a little odd."

"The waitress brought my husband the wrong beer. Then when the food was delivered she told my husband she accidently ordered him the wrong item. There was no offer of a discount, just that if he wanted she would order him the correct item. Which would mean we would be done eating and he would just be starting. So all in all my first visit to your restaurant was not that good. Sorry."

"I loathe chains but this is a great restaurant. The servers Troy, Corey and Kimberly are wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and show just the right amount of attentiveness. My only remark is that I informed the server that I cold not eat onions and when my food arrived, after about 5 minutes I noticed that there were red onions in my meal. I decided it wasn't worth getting this fixed as I told her twice I couldn't eat onions. My friend's meal was excellent."

"I read a lot of mediocre reviews but decided to try it out anyway and I was pleasantly surprised. The decor of the restaurant was top notch. The stain glass ceiling and dome shape were very cool. The place is partially separated into two different levels so each area has a private feel to it. The service was quick and courteous. I ordered the ultimate seafood platter which was decent but I'm a tough one to please when it comes to fresh seafood after living in both Japan and Italy. Overall I would recommend giving it a try."

"The service was slow. I simply did not like how we were served. Drinks were fair, my husband was dissatisfied with his martini. I had to ask for bread it was not offered. Entree was brought before we finished our salads and was simply sat on the table. Food was satisfactory. Presentation was okay, mine could have been more flavorful. It was my husband birthday and I thought "I'll take him somewhere special". I thought of the Capital Grille but we had had steak the night before. So I felt M/S was on that level. It was not that night. My husband said his food was good which was the most important thing to me. I love the ambiance of the facility. Now if the service and food can match it, the place will be packed."

"My husband and I thought it noisy and distracting. Our wait for our dinner seemed disproportionate to the amount of other clientele. While we are hardly 'foodies', a soggy salad is distinguishable anywhere, as is food that is either too salty or served with no seasoning at all. Our waitress actually told us that the vegetable served with my husband's meal is usually disliked by almost all who eat it! That is not a selling point. We assured the waitress that he has enjoyed eating the particular vegetables at home, but when eating them at McCormick and Schmick's that evening, he said not only were they under seasoned if not seasoned at all, they tasted as if they had come from the frozen section of Pick and Save."

"This was a business lunch. We were seated quickly and the waitress gave us very timely service. The lunch offerings were varied. We had 6 different entrees and all were delicious. This is an excellent restaurant for a business lunch."

"Disappointing. Food was just OK. Sauce on lobster ravioli way too thin (not a sauce but rather a broth). Quite overpriced for 4 small ravioli. Wine list extremely overpriced; about 3-4x retail (Yes I know exactly what wine costs vs what you charge). Calamari was good but too much breading. Very heavy, didn't have to be. Seared scallops tasted good overall. Potato dish they were placed upon very heavy, way too much. Overall, unimpressed. Stick with Harbor House or for a chain, Mitchel's. Both are much better."

"We eat at McCormick and Schmick's often. Some of the menu items have changed since M&S was purchased by Landry's and the changes have not all been for the better. The current orange/horseradish sauce offered with the coconut shrimp appetizer has very little flavor to it. The sauce using the original M&S recipt was very tasty. I ordered a relatively new item on the menu-the schrimp scampi linguini. It had a LOT of garlic. I love garlic and this was too much garlic even for me. The service was very attentive and the table was perfect- out of the way of traffic and quiet."

"Very disappointed with quality and portion of food. Had Parmesan crusted fish and ended up withn2 very small and thin pieces of what was hardly fish and mostly the cheese crust. For the price and quality, no comparison to Devon's and Bonefish Grill. Scallops in entree not flavorful and overcooked. Service was good but food was not."

"The restaurant was exceptionally busy for Valentine's Day so service was a little slow. However, our server was so charming and sweet we tipped her well. She made the wait easy and was attentive to our drink needs. The main course, a mixed grill, was not as good as we have had here before but the side dishes, especially the creamed spinach, were outstanding."

"I loved the food the first time my girlfriend and I ate here. I decided to take her out for Valentine's here. The meal was delicious, but they were busy and the service was apparent of that. We didn't see the server very often, the drink that I ordered (The Mariner's Mojito) was less than passable as an alcoholic beverage, and our table was not ready when we arrived for our reservation. I will still recommend this restaurant, however, this instance was below par for my expectations."

"I was disappointed in the experience. The bread was cold and stale and the butter was bitter and awful. My husband ordered a dinner salad that only came during the main entree because we had to remind the server again for it. The server apologized but it should have come before the entree. I ordered the chef's special and it was so oily with basil pesto I could barely eat it. This was not a good experience to say the least."

"We had dinner at McC and Schmick's last weekend to celebrate our daughter's excellent report card. She ordered a steak done Medium and when it came to our table it was barely cooked inside (almost rare definitely not medium). When we told our waitress she didn't apologize took it back to the kitchen, they cooked the same steak more and brought it back--never apologizing. Something similar happended at Capital Grille the last time we there--my steak was not done properly--not only did the waitress apologize profusely but the manager came over not once but twice to make sure everything was corrected and the steak was good."

"It was Valentines Day, we had reservations. (understanding its a busy night) We waiting 10 minutes just to check in to say we had reservations. There were 2/3 host/hostesses, a female that seemed LOST trying to check people in. Instead of taking people that had reservations she sat at the computer trying to find a table for 8 that just walked in without a reservation...very frustrating. One couple walked out. The male manager was rushing around and finally was able to check most people in while the women sat at the computer looking for a table for 8 that DIDNT have reservations. The only good thing about our visit was our waitress who did a great job. The food was just ok. Will not recommend or be back."

"We arravied for our reservation and stood there for about 5 minutes without anyone saying a thing to us. There were two young ladies doing some sort of organizing, but nethier one of them could acknowledge that we were there. When we did sit down for diner, our waitress took our drink order, which took over ten minutes until she brought them out. We had to ask for our bread, which came out with our meal, insted of prior to our meal. After our meal was brought out, we never saw our waitress again until it was time for her to bring us our check. We had to stop other wait staff to refill our water and ask for anything elese we needed. Very dissapionted with our experiance."

"I just ate some of the worse food in a long time. I inquired about a special when I made reservations of steak and lobster for $24.95 that was for Sundays and Mondays. They said it was still available so we figured since this was our first visit what a great way to sample their food. So the waiter comes and during his intro i did not hear the special we came in for so i asked him if it was still available. He says no do i still want it. I told him i called to see if this was specifically available this Sunday so he said he will check. it was there. Most anemic lobster tail and horrid steak ever. Even the bread was awful. Will not ever go back!!!"
