Capo faire, a modern Italian style cuisine, offers a rustic yet elegant dining room with high-beamed ceilings, flickering candles and a brightly burning corner fireplace. Capo has an extensive wine list of over 130 bottles as well as a full bar.
"This is "the place" if you want wonderful time, delicious food, and warm ambiance. The sweet corn ravioli with truffles is to die for- in fact, all pasta dishes are excellent. The grilled octopus ( anything grilled- including the grilled romaine) is outstanding. Service is friendly and attentive. The paintings surround the walls are humorous and not pretentious.
You can't go wrong if you want to celebrate a special occasion by reserving a table there. I would recommend this restaurant to all of my friends."

"everything about this place is amazing from the moment you walk in. The ambience is amazing, the wait staff is excellent -- we asks our waiter to recommend dishes to have the full Capo experience and his recommendations were spot on!! I will be going back to Capo, I do not know how I've missed it up until now!!!"

"I like capo, I really do. But, someone please explain how 4 people can spend $800 on one corkage, ap's and dinner ( no meat) and one bottle of wine.
This place should blow your mind... they are all under the impression that they do.. but they don't to the level they should.
The service was good, attentive and professional. We asked if we could have some meatballs with our cocktails and the server told us no.. the chef will only fill complete orders. Hmmm.
Won't be my first choice to spend my dough."

"I have wanted to go to Capo for ever, but was a bit worried about cost. With our 15th wedding anniversary coming up, I decided to go for it. What a wonderful evening. We had the 8 course chef's tasting menu, and it was wonderful. What was also unique was that for several of the courses they brought my husband and I different things, so we actually got to taste that much more of the food. Okay, it was expensive...very, but It was worth it. Service was great, very attentive. I will definitely return."

"Capo was good but definitely over priced for what you get. $60 main courses that are good but not outstanding isn't value for money compared to other fine restaurants. Unbelievable wine list (best I've ever seen in the US) but could use a few more reasonably priced options. No validation $8.50 parking fee leaves a negative departure note especially when I noticed the day after that the attendant had reversed my car into something and damaged the rear chrome panel. Overall for a first time diner at a highly referred restaurant Capo was a so-so experience."

"Fabulous food, first quality ingredients and bustling with people. Service is hit and miss - I waited almost 20 minutes for some water and the salad was served before the appetizer bread and hummus....For such a first class restaurant I am always surprised at the poor service"

"The only problem we encountered here was that we had made a reservation for 8:00 but didn't get seated until 8:30. Once we were seated the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. We opted for the tasting menu and it was the most complete meal I have ever had. I love the ambiance and especially the grill in the back corner. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion or if you have the money go every weekend!"

"Don't come early, the bar is not available and the entrance is very small. The host and waiter staff were exceptional. Friendly, warm, helpful and available. The wine selection is impressive. We made four selections and they didn't have any of them. So we let the waiter decide. He chose a personal favorite of his, not memorable. You see the prices on line, enough said. The salads were okay, caesar and green salads. The rissoto was delicious, portobello, crab and lobster, respectively. There is a 35 minute wait for rissoto, so we all ordered one. After all that food, the apple tart (also prepared fresh with a wait) was just the right ending to the meal. It was small and light. Very nice ambiance, tables close together."

"Great food, very rude attitude. Even though we were told that the table had to turn in 2 hours, the waiter consistently reminded us of it throughout the dinner, to the point of annoyance, and just pure rudeness. For spending almost $900 on a dinner that lasted 2 hours is ridiculous for such a fine food spot. When we ordered our next bottle of wine, the waiter, looked at his watch and said I don't know if you can do that given you only have 1/2 hour left for dinner. What a joke, for 5 people dining. If the food wasn't so great, I'm not sure if I would ever return."

"As much as I enjoy and appreciate the food, quality of the product and ambience of Capo, it would be nice every now and then to get out without having to spend $300 for a dinner for two. My girlfriend and I enjoyed another great meal, yet had only two drinks between us (she a $28 glass of wine and me a beer) and the bill without tip was $250. I fully understand you get what you pay for but does a Potato Galette really need to be priced at $20."

"Truly one of the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. Superb grilled caeser, fantastic octupus in a spicy tomato reduction, delicious rigatoni with truffle oil and superb steaks. Only problem is diners linger at their tables. On the 3 last visits, we waited from 15 to 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. While this tarnishes the experience, the food is worth the wait."

"Not for the faint at heart with the purse strings but worth it. Went with a friend for his birthday and we got the tasting menu. $115 each at the time. The chef picks with a little guidance for from you. Great idea especially if you have never been there and you don’t mind trying a little off of each other’s plate. We had two half bottles of wine; White/red. Worked perfect as the fish and red meat came, the white and red came. Wine not part of the $115."

"Most of the employees do not smile. The host did not even look up at us when we entered and we stood there for a couple of minutes until he acknowledged us. On the positive side, the food was delicious albeit expensive. We had steak that was perfectly cooked and the special of baked chicken parm and fish. All were really good. Busboy was attentive. This place is small but the sound level was good so you could hear your tablemates. We had a celebrity sighting"

"The food was good, the choice of wine great but overpriced .. the place is very dark and everyone is using his mobile to read the menu.. The tables are very very closed together which does not make for a relaxed evening and the noise level too high.. The service was Ok ."

"Overall Capo is very good. Exactly that and not more: very good. You will however pay like it is the greatest restaurant on the west coast, and it is just no where close to this. Again: Very good, but in my mind not worth the money.
Very nice server. Everything very tasty (esp. Lobster Ravioli, Filet and grilled salad). But for 2 mains, 2 appetizers, 1 of their less pricey bottles of wine - good luck escaping for under $250-$300. A slightly nicer bottle of wine, any pre-dinner drinks at the bar or any desserts, and you will push $400-$500+ all in."
