"Dinner before the play at the Orpheum. Super martinis; good overall wine list. Great atmosphere, wonderful food especially appetizers and sides! Waitress Hannah was one of the best servers encountered anywhere!"

"There was a wedding party group that was loud. Even though the restaurant had many open tables the Hostess set us and several other parties too close to the wedding party. One couple got up and moved, another party were comped a desert and the server apologized, our server did nothing when we complained.
Would not recommend this restaurant."

"Admittedly, we ate at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon but the service was terrible. The waitress was new and the manager clearly had not given her any instruction in any area. She did not speak to us for ten minutes despite setting out glassware at empty tables all around us. Spilled water everywhere from the pitcher repeatedly, gave us the wrong menus, disappeared for 15 minutes twice, and generally performed poorly. Very nice and friendly, just not properly trained for this price point restaurant. This was a manager problem, not the server's fault. The food was average except for the salad drowning in the dressing. We will not be back."

"While our server, Lauren was very knowledgeable and everything we ordered was tasty (not mind blowing) - the portion to price ratio was a joke. My husband ordered a $40 plate and his seabass was smaller than a deck of playing cards and my salmon wasn't much larger. They also have a skimpy beer selection and a local bottle costs $6. We will not be returning."

"I like the fact that they have both little items kinda tapas and regular items on the menu. The menu is also rather creative but not scary which appeals to my foodie girlfriend and my non foodie self :-) I also loved our server, she had my sense of humor..."

"Easter lunch at eighty3 was a very nice experience overall. Even with reservations, there was a wait, but we were offered complimentary mimosas while waiting. All of us enjoyed our meals, but we were surprised that we were not offered dessert, which we were hoping to enjoy."

"Cheese appetizer was quite delicious - best part of meal. Specialty jalapeno margarita was a bit strange but OK. Gumbo was spicy, but again just OK. Steak and Frittes - steak was tough and almost cold when served. Cute place but not high on my list of places downtown to eat."

"In preparing for my wife's birthday, I made specific requests and I brought in a cake early. When my wife and I arrived at ei8hty3, the candles were lit, the flowers were set, and the table I selected were all there. The ambiance was romantic and the decor had a tastefully urban motif. The cocktails were well poured and the server had great knowledge of the menu. We both had the New York Strip with the Cabernet reduction and it was absolutely heavenly. By far, the best steak that we have eaten in Memphis in some time. I anticipate comming here again real soon."

"Their bone-in filet is a must have; the best steak in Memphis. Music is somewhat too loud at times but other than that, always a great dining experience."

"I loved my experience at this restaurant. It's perfect for a romantic evening, our food was out in no time and the place is really quaint and cozy for two. The salmon is delicious, as well as the steak! I'll be back again!"

"I took my wife out to Eighty3 for date night on a Tuesday night and we went with several small plates and a salad rather than the mains (despite the restaurant touting the mains as what they're known for). We had the Spicy Ahi Tuna Wontons (excellent), Bacon-wrapped dates (excellent), Buffalo Deviled Eggs (very good), Grilled Oysters (good despite being out of season) and the Spaghetti (good). We split the house salad (tasty)and two desserts. The Blueberry Bread Pudding was excellent (and I know my bread puddings) and the 'Something Chocolate' was delicious. It was cooked just past molten in the middle so -1 pt, but still decadent. Also, our server, Hannah, was phenomenal!!! Prices also matched the quality. Will be back!"

"I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with this restaurant. We had never dined here before and will absolutely go back. Everything from the grilled oysters, Caesar salad with endive to the short rib pot roast was superb. Very accommodating too!"

"a tiny restaurant in size but very uptown in style. Bar area was hopping and the place was alive.
Waitress was experienced and helpful yet not intrusive. The food/beverage mgr was gracious and welcoming.
I most definitely will return!"

"Brought a group of 8 colleagues and customers for dinner. I had not been in Memphis in 5 years so I had a bit of trepidation, but 83 did not disappoint. Service was spot on. The new tapas style appetizer menu was fun to mix, match and share. Drinks were hardy and good sized. And the main course offerings pleased the entire group. But best of all, we were able to carry on a conversation that engaged our entire group in 83's comfortable atmosphere."

"The food was amazing, but the services was terrible. It was prix fixe on Valentine's Day so it was crowded, however our server never came to take our drink orders and although we had not been seated last, we were served last or almost last each time. We also never received one of the early courses (cheese plate) during the 10 course meal. The music was loud for a romantic evening. Would recommend for the food."

"We started off with drinks, and they were superb! Especially the Jalapeno Mint Margarita - best I have had! The bartender explained everything, and another employee provided us with some interesting history and things to come. Then for dinner, the waitress was excellent, and she explained the small plates and entrees, and also provided some helpful suggestions to bring out the flavors. Overall, it was a wonderful find and experience, and we will be back!"

"It was a bit under staffed. With only one server working the restaraunt and the rest of the staff working a party in the backback, service was extremely slow. In addition, the server kept our table guest change totalling to almost $5. She was intending to tip her that and more, but assuming it belonged to her breaks all the rules of customer service. Unfortunately, we wouldnt recommend it."

"I have dined at eighty3 twice now, and have had a similar experience both times. I enjoyed myself both times, but I always felt that the food was just "good" -- not phenomenal, which is what I shoot for at this price point. That's not to say that eighty3 is particularly expensive, but in Memphis there are plenty of truly fantastic restaurants in the $$$ price range (Tsunami, Interim, Acre). However, there is nothing "wrong" with eighty3 -- I'm always hoping to order something that will put them in that class for me, but it just never happens. Actually the bacon wrapped dates are pretty darn good ;) Definitely go with those!"

"Had an excellent time at eighty3. I have been told by a few friends that they have the best steak in town. Decided to try them out. We were sat at a small table for 2 near the back of the restaurant. We started with wine and the Ahi Tuna Tartar. It was excellent. We split the house names salad. I wasn't too impressed with it but it;'s just a salad. For our entrees, I had the filet and my lady had the sea bass. The steak was prepared just as i asked (Medium Rare) and had a pat of flavored button on top. I let this melt in and WOW what a great steak. My lady had the sea bass and it was also excellent. She made a comment that it was one of the best fish she's ever had, and she is a foodie. We finished up with the bread pudding for dessert."

"Eight adults for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals although I was glad I hadn't ordered the steak as it didn't look all that appetizing...very thin cut & my husband said his was over cooked. If it had been the 2 of us he would have returned it. My salmon was cooked to order. Someone ordered the special (pasta) & it was very generous & the plus was it came with a complimentary dessert which we all shared. Overall it was a good choice as 6 of us were from out of town & we were from Memphis."
