"We enjoyed out visit and the service is always outstanding. I enjoyed the crab cakes and risotto but had to send my green beans back to have them cooked a little longer. They came back and still weren't great but the crab cakes made up for it. My husband and I are both light eaters but even after an appetizer and 2 Entrees we left hungry. Not how you want to feel with a !00.00 tab!"

"My wife and I decided to try Sonoma for our anniversary dinner. We had an 8:30 Friday dinner reservation. The place was very loud with laughter. This was somewhat expected at a wine bar, and we were luckily sat at a table by the windows in the corner, away from the three deep bar crowd. In retrospect, I wish we would have asked for a table on the patio.
As for the food, it was great. Our server was very knowledgable about the available wines, and he was very nice. I was surprised that it took over an hour to get served our salad and bread though. I'd return for the food for sure."

"We went on a Sunday, where Happy Hour specials include food besides drinks and they are for all day. We each started with the capresse salad. It was the best we've ever had. Lovely local organic tomatoes with wonderful homemade mozzerella cheese and balsamic syrup with touches of olive oil and chopped basil.
I had the roasted duck with potato gnocchi and broccolini topped with sauteed mushrooms. My husband had the surf and turf special which was an 8oz. filet mignon with a panko encrusted soft shell crab with parsnip puree."

"Visited for Town Center Restaurant Week with family. The tuna tartar was amazing. Probably the most innovative use of cucumber as a sorbet I had in a while. The grilled filets were cook perfectly. My only complaint were the fries. Thickly cut (about the size of a kindergarten pencil) which left it without any type of crunch and a soggy texture. The chocolate dessert finished off the meal well and had enough saltiness to balance the sweetness. The cheesecake was quite tasty too. If I heard the server correctly, powdered Kool-Aid was used (nice!)."

"The food was good (even though Adam didn't get my order right). He didn't write down our orders and put in the wrong entree. I was so hungry and he wasn't friendly so I didn't say anything. One thing I did notice besides his bad attitude is he smelled like he had quite a night of drinking (perhaps he should've switched his Easter day shift with someone else). We love Sonoma. This won't keep us from coming back, but I think we will request anyone other than Adam."

"Food was excellent. Shared the shrimp bruschetta - delish! I had the Rockfish with edamame succotash and my husband had the NY strip. It was all very tasty. Portions are "gourmet size" but we had room to share a wonderful dessert that was tasty and beautifully presented. We were satisfied at the end of the meal, but not uncomfortable. Our first cup of coffee was old, but our waiter brought us fresh after we asked. The service was good, but our waiter had the personality of a robot. He didn't tell us his name, nor did he ever crack a smile. When we asked for more creamer for the coffee, he seemed a little put out. It was our anniversary, so it was worth it. I may go back sometime and try a flight of wine with a cheese board."

"HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE!!! The service was almost non-existant. Had to ask for the manager 4 times alas she/he never came. They served us a bottle of wine that had leaked up the cork (waitress said it had "character"). This restaurant would never survive in a major market, but it is in a fortunate location. The food was decent other than the 1oz cheese platters. Hampton Roads has much better restaurants to eat at for the price with much better service."

"The food was mediocre. Nothing you could not have done at home with A little thought into it ! The price is waaay over the food quality. I'm a cook and I wouldn't charge that much for a plate that is nothing more that well decorated. The wine list is very big and diverse but the price is a little over the top. Service was good besides our waiter spending most of his time flirting with the 3 girls next to us. This place is probably ok for a wine night and cheese with friends but nothing more."

"I love the overall feel of the restaurant. The open dining concept is really nice. We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and it was the perfect spot for the three of us to have fun. "We arrived late as usual and were seated right away! I didn't expect to be seated right away, but was happy we were! The waitress was fabulous, wine was good, entree was amazing. The waitress did forget to put in our appetizer order, but in exchange she gave us free dessert on the house. The dessert was banana cheesecake with caramel drizzled on top which was to did for! We had a great time!"

"Loved the food and ambiance! Mahi mahi and filet mignon were superb! The flowers,pre- ordered thru Open Table were beautiful & made the night much more special! Service was average and I should know as I have waited tables in the past and have certain expectations. First, our waiter didn't introduce himself and he didn't check up on us as frequent as one should! However, timing of the food was great! But the most irritating part was waiting to pay our bill- it was obviously ready with card in place! Our waiter looked over at us a few times as well as the host but neither person took the bill. Another server saw us, obviously upset, she ran our card for us so we didn't have to wait any longer! Will be back for the food & ask for Katie!"

"In this sleek, modern space, we were warmly greeted and whisked to a table. Service is attentive (no auctioning of plates) and thoughtful. The food is very good. Small mussels in a rich broth with arugula had a nice kick and the accompanying bread was warm and crusty. A filet of beef, cooked perfectly rare, was butter tender. Coconut shrimp, not as spicy as advertised, were overcooked, but served on a deliciously creamy risotto. Our helpful server immediately brought hot sauce to remedy the mildness of the dish. Chocolate cheesecake for dessert rounded out a very nice dinner."

"Sonoma is a really nice place for a special "Date Night". Our server was fantastic, his service was impeccable. You HAVE to build a cheese board, you will not regret it. In Fact, the Chef delivered it personally! The wine list is terrific and had a nice range of prices.
We were a little disappointed with our steaks though. I had the chefs special and it was a little tough with not much seasoning. My wife had the rib eye, which was so big, it could have come right from the Flinstones! :) Again, her only complaint was too little seasoning.
