"We really enjoyed our meal at Indulge. The starters were outstanding. Particularly good was the crab-mango salad, but the mussels, lobster bisque, and beet-fennel salad were also all very tasty. Two of us had the salmon, one had the scallops and the fourth main was the duck. All were quite good--cooked to perfect temperature and served with appropriate sides. An unexpected highlight were the warm, house-baked rolls. Definitely a place to try."

"The evening was very enjoyable and the food was excellent. There was an issue that almost ruined the night since my reservation was never received by the restaurant. Since this was booked through the website, I expect that OpenTable has an issue."

"My girlfriend and I enjoyed our 5280 meal at Indulge French Bistro very much. She had the chicken and I had the salmon. Portions were were more than amble and I thought the deal was great. As we each had our own appetizer, main meal and dessert. Of course we indulged in a lovely glass of wine each. Also the made on premise rolls were tasty.

Liam our server was very attentive. The only draw back is the tables are very close together. It is small but I think romantic. I will return."

"My wife was having a rough day at work so I decided to treat her to dinner and I picked Indulge because it was not too far away. The food was excellent and our server was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We could tell that many of the patrons around us were also enjoying themselves and this added to the overall pleasure of the experience. We are big fans of French bistro food and we both thought that Indulge served one of the best meals we have had in quite a while."

"The menu sounds interesting, but the execution is lacking. My duck, for example, was served with a sticky sweet mustard sauce with a mixture of mini-frites and green beans piled on top. The sauce and moisture from the beans left the frites gummy and distasteful. My date's steak was cooked well, but they were heavy handed with the salt and masked the flavor. Most high-end restaurants are serving baskets of upscale bread flavored with olives, rosemary, roasted garlic, cheese, etc. At Indulge, we were offered ONE dinner roll (blackened on the bottom)that could double as a paving stone. There was a fog of oily smoke in the restaurant when we arrived, so it's possible that there was a problem in the kitchen that night."

"Food was excellent. Atmosphere leaves a little to be desired because it is crowded and noisy. Service was extremely slow...we were handed our bill before receiving our dessert and then had to wait an additional 20 minutes or so before we received it."

"We went for my Birthday but it also happened to be Restaurant week. I'm thinking it might have been a different experience had it not been restaurant week. The place was packed! The service was mediocre. We had to wait a while to put in our order and to get our appetizers. Our water glasses were empty for a while before I asked to have them refilled. They forgot to bring us some bread until after our appetizers came out.
The food was outstanding. My only complaint is that the escargot had a couple of gritty bites as did the P.E.I. Mussels. Other than that the crab and mango salad was wonderful and my gogonzola filet was amazing. Because it was my bday I was really looking forward to the molten lava cake but the center was solid :("

"One of multiple restaurants I chose for Denver's Restaurant Week and by far it was the best. The blue crab salad, crusty Norweigian salmon and (the French equivalent which name I cannot pronounce) the lava cake with mango sorbet melting on it were all to die for. My dinner partner had mixed greens with basalmic dressing, angus beef and peach melba that looked and tasted equally delicious. The service was fantastic. This will be one of my favorite special occasion places in Denver."

"1st timer. I've passed this place many times and never considered dining. The outside looks like a "dive". However after my first dining experience (thanks to 5280 restaurant week)the outside actually enhanced the uniqueness of this hideaway. My confidant and I loved this eatery. We would recommend the salmon tartar, chicken fricassee, and the duo creme bulee with your preferred wine."

"The food was ok and the waiter was very knowledgeable but I will preface my comments that I went during Denver Restaurant Week which was obviously a very busy time. If your visit is during a normal week your experience may be different . The place is very small and loud and the bar is overpowering to the size of the restaurant. Because of the this, the tables were very crowded. They had a lot of people on staff to help but all these people were constantly going in and out and between the tables. In an already crowded space this was not relaxing and became very disturbing. I felt like I was in the way and taking up valuable space. Food was ok but it should be terrific for a showcase week if they want people to return."

"Our meal during a busy restaurant week Saturday was outstanding--from the fresh, warm rolls to our appetizers (the best escargot and homemade pate) to our perfectly prepared steak and salmon and ending with a delectable brulee and chocolate cake. Stephanie is a wonderful hostess and she and her husband bring the tastes and atmosphere of Normandy to Denver. A real gem."

"We went to Indulge for Denver Restaurant Week and the food was excellent! The mussels were some of the best ever, fresh, plump, flavorful. Stephanie, who owns the restaurant with her chef husband, was friendly and helpful, as was the staff. The place is small, cozy and can get crowded (much like Parisian bistros) but it is a great food getaway. You won't be disappointed in the food and the warm atmosphere. A real Denver gem."

"The food was very good; I had never been before and quite enjoyed it. I wasn't that impressed with the service, though. Our waiter seemed bothered by us and only wanted to dash to our table and take our order as quickly as possible. He seemed annoyed with the few questions we had regarding the menu and wasn't interested in explaining anything on or suggesting any recommendations. It was as if he just wanted to take our order as if we were in a drive-thru and be done with us. I understand that they were busy, but the service shouldn't suffer because of this...isn't being busy what every restuarant strives for?!?"

"We have been to many of the nicer restaurants in town and thought we would try something in the neighborhood for Valentines Day. We were very disappointed with the food service. Basically, we got a scallop, a bowl of watery soup, and two bites of creme brulee for $144 for the two of us. The watery soup was supposed to be lobster bisque. The prix fixe menu marketed this as a Maine lobster, but when ordering were informed that instead it was the bisque that would be the entree."

"The food was very good, our appetisers were fois gras for me and seared scallop for my wife; the scallop was very nearly the best I've tasted in 20 years. For the entree, I had a lobster stew en croute and my wife had the angus fillet both of which were quite yummy. The vegetables in the stew were cooked to just the right consistency i.e. not mushy and the fillet was perfect. The guage of how good a restaurant is has to do with how they resolve problems. My entree came to the table cool rather than hot. I informed the waiter who immediately took it back to the kitchen and returned it fully heated in under 5 minutes. The maitress d' followed up immediately to make sure that everything was in order. Deserts were also very delicious."

"We chose the eve of Valentine's Day for our first visit, and at the time of our 8:30 reservation the kitchen was slammed. We waited quite a while to be noticed, be given silverware, order wine, etc. However, once we were actually assigned a waiter, he was very charming and attentive. The prix fixe menu was quite wonderful, though I had to send my lukewarm seafood en croute back to be reheated. My husband thought the single scallop entree was a little skimpy, though deliciously prepared. We loved the beet salad with crab. The chocolate dessert was sheer heaven, although the creme brulee duo was a bit soupy. All in all, a very good experience, special enough to make us want to return on some less crowded evening to sample the regular menu."

"we dined here for valentine's day. restaurant offered a three course prix fixe menu. since the loss of papillon and tante louise, i have struggled to find french restaurants that compared to those former standouts in denver. indulge comes close. super food, super service, great atmosphere. definitely recommended and we plan to return. paid extra and ordered all three appetizers. the foie gras stands out. perfectly cooked and tasty scallop. enjoyed cabbage and crab, too. the plats (we americans call entree) made the meal and the evening. wow!! both the lobster bisque and the beef tenderloin were seductive and transcended us beyond the boundaries of the restaurant. let's just say that it sparked the fireworks that culminated our v-day :-D"

"A bit over priced for what we got. The lobster bisque had no lobster in it. The fries that came with the steak frites dish tasted of freezer burn and the peaches in the peach melba dessert were from a can. For the price we paid, we did not get the quality of food we expected. Also, we told the owners and serving staff that it was our anniversary, but got nothing except congratulations -- I understand that it is not customary, but it would have been nice if they could have comped the one dessert we ordered.The staff and owners are wonderfully nice people. The wait staff was very knowledgable and very attentive. We spent $175 (2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 bottle of wine, 1 dessert, gratuity) and felt a bit ripped off."

"This was the biggest disappointment of our dining season. We waited more than 10 minutes to be greeted after we were seated. The food was not properly prepared; duck overdone and beef full of fat and grizzel. Menu said Peking Duck, but it was not prepared Peking style and lacked flavor and was very tough. Toast points should be served with the Steak Tartar and they were not. After mentioning to our waiter that our corner was very cold, we sat through dinner with our winter coats on! The decor of the restaurant is very dated and dreary. This is not an indulgence but an embarrassment and not a place to bring guests. Way too dark to even read the wine list or menu. We missed having a tablecloth for evening meal. Not a place to repeat."

"We ate at Indulge on New Year's Eve. We have eaten there several times and never been disappointed, but this was one of the best meals I have ever had, anywhere. The escargots were tender and perfectly seasoned; not too much garlic! The veal tenderloin was out of this world: tender and served with an amazing reduction sauce. The butternut squash puree that accompanied the tenderloin was so light it was like air, but with flavor! The moelleux au chocolat paired with mango sorbet was a brilliant ending. The restaurant was packed that night, and as a consequence the service was a little slow, but that was a small price to pay for a truly memorable meal at a little parcel of France tucked into the corner of 38th and Raleigh in Denver!"

"We first tried this restaraunt during Restaraunt Week and vowed to go back. The repeat visit did not disappoint! The menu, while not huge, is large enough to offer impressive variety. The service was attentive without hovering. Everything ordered by my group was outstanding, both in presentation and taste. Although a large group was seated near us, the noise level remained quite moderate. The staff ably handled the large group without any dimishment to the service to our small group. I strongly recommend Indulge French Bistro- we left feeling well taken care of and satisfied, and frankly, happy."

"We went to Indulge for my birthday and I had been looking forward to it for some time. The restaurant was kind enough to move my reservation back due to the weather and not penalize me for it. I believe there was a private party going on when we arrived. We were seated right away. However, we were not waited on for about 10-15 minutes and almost left. Once we did speak to the waiter it went more smoothly. I agree with other reviewers in that there are too many tables crammed into such a small place. It was fine when we got there around 5pm, but towards the end of our meal I was glad we had made such an early reservation due to the crowding. The food was excellent as was the wine. We will go back, but will get there early :)"
