Inspired by one of San Francisco's first surveyors, legendary Jasper O'Farrell - Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen pays homage to the history and culture of the social city Jasper O'Farrell envisioned. Having been instrumental in shaping the city's landscape, most notably with the diagonal creation of Market Street and influencing the names of key streets, Jasper O'Farrell helped create a social and commercial city. Jasper O'Farrell was known to have gathered in local watering holes, and enjoyed spending time socializing with his peers and neighbors in the local bars and restaurants.

"My friend and I were seated right away on our arrival, I had been to the bar before, but had no idea how far back the restaurant stretched. We were seated almost against the furthest wall, and noise carries, so if you are looking for a quiet spot you may want to look elsewhere. Our server was attentive and helpful, with loads of food knowledge. She seemed a bit in a hurry at the beginning of service but smoothed out toward the end of our meal. The inventive deviled eggs are fun and yummy, we also had the fish and chips and hamburger. All were cooked to perfection, the fish was served warm, not hot, but all in all it was an enjoyable meal and we will certainly be back."

"We asked the bar waitress if we could dine at the current table, happily she said yes. The low tables in the bar are good for just a drink, the backless stools are highchairs, no foothold to perch on. Us ladies could not reach the floor sitting. NO place to put a purse, the floor. The table was so uncomfortable for the 3 hour dinner we had. Then the manager stood at our table explaining forever (5 min) why my boyfriends order was incorrect. This was after we corrected the manager and told him he had the order wrong. There were 8 people who serviced our table that night - that is just asking for mix ups and complete confusion. The waitress said the panzanella salad is out of season. Tomato, stale bread, basil, cheese and onion are out? June?"

"had a small birthday dinner with Dine About Town menu. the menu & drinks are creative & fun. they have a kid menu, yay! with each course you attention was paid to pleasing each taste bud. had a divine mixed greens salad with goat cheese, hazelnuts, peaches & basil. the grain salad with a light vinaigrette, pickled cauliflower & feta cheese was lovely. you MUST try the crispy piggy, you won't regret it! salmon cooked perfectly. the pork chop was AMAZING with butter beans, kale & chorizo. the strawberry rhubarb cobbler was tart & sweet baked in a moist butter cake & peanut butter mousse with chocolate cake was sinful. i wanted to propose to the artist in the kitchen & to my delight chef ransom came out & introduced himself. a great night!"

"We came here for a late lunch (around 2:00 p.m.), and by then, the lunch crowd was pretty much non-existent, but there were a handful of people at the bar. The restuarant itself is pretty long, but half of it was closed during the time we were there, but I can only imagine how busy it gets during the peak times, dinner for example. Nonetheless, while we went there during a slow time, I felt the service was very good. The staff was on it. The food was great. It was small bar food, but have it with beer and it hit the spot for sure. I would recommend this place to a friend for sure."

"I was celebrating my birthday and on a first date. All the staff made me feeling very special. The specialty drink menu was to die for, the new mussels dinner dish was delicious and these new crunchy meat bites we were all fight for he last one. Our waitress along with other staff made great drink recommendations when we told them what flavored we were looking for. I will be retuning very soo . This time with more friends. "We were meeting up with friends of friends we'd not met who were visiting from Australia. They have a 7 month old baby. The service was stellar. The waitress was perfect. The manager stopped by our table to ask if we were enjoying ourselves. Our new friends ordered a veggie salad on the menu and ordered it for the baby thinking it had cooked vegetables in it which is what they feed him. A few minutes later the chef came out to talk with them because he was concerned they might not realize it was mostly comprised of lettuces and wanted to make sure that's what they meant to order for the baby. The chef offered to prepare some fresh peas for the baby. The adult meals were all delicious and everyone was thoroughly enchanted by the experience."

"Found this place on Open Table. When we first arrived our table was not ready. No big deal as there was a really cool bar with exceptional service. 40 minutes later out table was ready. Service was terrible. Our appetizers arrived 2 minutes after our main courses. Wife's food was burned and we could not get the attention of the waitress to replace the meal until 20 minutes later. The sweet potato fries were great and the rest of the food was average at best."

"My group of four friends ate here before seeing a show at the Curran and we couldn't have been more pleased. This place was not only reasonable for the City, but had a good cocktai/wine list and our server was very helpful and knowledgeable in both. We started with the trio of deviled eggs (fabulous!) and soft pretzels (also good, but the eggs were the winner for the apps.) Entrees: the steak frites - excellent; rocky range jr. flattened roasted chicken - very moist and favorful; pork chop (huge and cooked to perfection - deliciously seasoned). Dessert - we all split one rocky road ice cream sandwich and should have each gotten our own as we were fighting over each bite."

"Delightful spot for a quick dinner. We stopped in on our way to the symphony and it worked out very well! Great experience from the greeting at the check-in desk through dinner and to the last "thanks, come again" as we went out the door.Lively bar scene up front, but lower decibel dining room is nicely appointed and comfortable. The menu is heavy on so-called "comfort food" so they have the chicken/burger/salmon that many restaurants offer, but poutine was a nice surprise! Can't say enough about the home-made ice cream sandwich, made with house-made ice cream. It comes in 2 sizes and the small is ideal for two diners who want a nice sweet small finish. Moderate and impressive selection of local and far-flung draft beers."

"I normally discount the restaurants in the hotels where I stay, but when I was recently staying at the Serrano in San Francisco, I overheard someone talking about how great this place is, so my sister and I checked it out. It is definitely a pub atmosphere (smells of beer and malt vinegar), but has some very good food and a nice beer selection. We had the warm pretzel with cheese dip, the deviled eggs, the fish and chips and a dessert called the black & tan. All were delicious."

"Loved this place! The ambiance is bar scene and funky cool. The service was great. The food was really great! We started with the trio of deviled eggs. Loved them; the selection and the plating. Then skinny fries with truffle, parmesan and herb served with aioli. To die for!! Then on to salmon with lentils and watercress which was also very tasty. My husband had the chicken which was also delish. The drinks were great and the selection unique and interesting. Overall a great find for a fun time!"

"We wanted a casual place close to the hotel for comfort food and this fit the bill. Ample portions of burgers, fries and excellent beer on tap. Comfortable, if loud. This is a welcoming neighborhood pub like place. Fortunately for us there were quieter tables in the back of the restaurant beyond the hopping bar scene."

"The food was so good we went two nights in a row. Burgers are popular and great. Salad was just right. Salmon and pot pie entrees were also great. They even created a desert I wanted that wasn't on the menu based on the items that were available! We would've given Jasper's a 5 except it's too darned loud and too many people using iPhones to read the menu cause its a wee bit dark. Great meals. Highly recommend."

"Jasper's was busy the Saturday night we were there. There was a line to be seated; lucky for us we had a reservation. The hostess took us right to our table with no waiting for which we were grateful. The waitress was attentive and our food was served promptly. The beer flight was memorable, the salad special delicious. Our main course included innovative burgers and chicken pot pie; all were very good. This place is known for their cocktails and beer list; they don't disappoint."

"Great place for a group (we were 13). The service was good and quick. The only things, strangely enough, that we had help getting were ketchup and the bill. There are not many choices for vegetarians and the menu is a little light on choices all around. But the beer menu is definitely the star with the fries having second billing. Come here for drinks, a burger, and if you're in a group. Perfect for all those accounts."

"First time visit recommended by concierge at our hotel. Upon arrival, the hostess seemed overwhelmed. There were two parties in front of us and we waited approx 10 minutes before we were greeted. We had a reservation, so we were seated quickly - just took a long time to get to that point. It was a few minutes before our server came to the table. The atmosphere was very LOUD - definitely a younger crowd. Since it was our first time here - we had several questions about the menu. Our server didn't seem to appreciate that, nor did she take that as an opportunity to explain their offerings. Our order arrived fairly quick. Food was good. The brussel sprouts were the star of the show!! I would go back for those alone!"

"Dimly lit, candles on the table, yet edgy enough to be SF. The waiters/waitresses were on top of filling our waters and making sure we were content. Food came out quickly, too. We got the soft pretzels with fondu-yum, Sweet potato fries-delish, and the fish and chips- the fish was so succulent and nicely battered, not heavy and gross. Moderately priced, not exactly cheap. 20$ Fish and chips, 8$ Pretzel bites, and 6-ish$ fries.I would definitely come here again!"

"Great place to eat before the theater, especially if you want something other than really expensive French food. We add off the appetizers menu - fried calamari and capers that was just the right texture and heat, sliders that were most with a hint of blue cheese, the tuna tartare which we couldn't get anough of, brussels sprouts (a bit on the salty side) and shared a green salad that was light but fullof different flavors. Had a yummy chocolate stout - but the cocktails looked amazing. We skipped the fries but after reading other reviews, that was a mistake we'll have to rectify when we return."
